NIGHTHAWK 6 BAGGER ON DEBUT. (HAWK)

oilyrag - 12 Mar 2007 07:10

Pre IPO price 4p
Opening price on debut 25p
Floatation price 46p to raise 14million to extend Jolly Ranch
Current fair value estimate 114p
Market cap 70.59 million.
Value of Cisco Springs investments 98 million.
Value of Vogel investments 75 million.
Desparado trucking now Nightfox 250,000 for a 50% stake with partner Running Foxes.
Centurion Project Kansas, 150,000 for a 50% stake.
Jolly Ranch Colorado, 40,000 acres cost 356,000 for a 50% stake.
Cash in bank 7.75 million.

As this EPIC opens on AIM today anything could happen. On the one hand you have traders trying to cash in a sixfold profit. You will also have a clambering of traders after shares because, firstly they could only get 75% of their allocation because of demand. Secondly at 25p this company is still way under valued.

Hawk have said repeatedly they are already selling, to suggest they do so for zero is really talking cr@p. The figure will increase every week as the operation gathers steam, meantime watch the sp and weep. Where did I insult you?

hlyeo98 - 03 Nov 2008 14:10 - 638 of 1373

The sellers are already moving in now. Good luck!

gnashlevel2 - 03 Nov 2008 14:22 - 639 of 1373

hlyeo98 - after 25% rise on a day, wow that's unusual ;-)

gnash, i think hyleo is being burnt alive with his predictions on other threads

required field - 03 Nov 2008 15:10 - 641 of 1373

Just read the RNS...there is a lot to take in.....pricing this could be tricky ! but upside there is and loads of it....just look at the sp today...more to come !.

halifax - 03 Nov 2008 15:36 - 642 of 1373

required field read the RNS there is no mention of actual sales but as usual a lot of future production and reserve estimates.

required field - 03 Nov 2008 15:58 - 643 of 1373

Well the sp is rising....I'm certain that some serious production is coming ...buy on the rumour..sell on the fact !.

gnashlevel2 - 03 Nov 2008 18:24 - 644 of 1373

I'm betting, in just a few months later, Bramhill flogs the lot for an eye-watering lump, shared out by (hopefully) just our current 205MM shares, which apart from a few insti's and directors, is really just a few thousand investors (not forgetting RF's share too). To my mind, not many chances for a slice of a medium size O&G company come along at this price. Not ever again I'll bet with AIM being so battered as it has this year. Some other plays look good (I hold them too), but are laden with risks and at the mercy of weather and geopolitics. Not this baby. I see the sp firming nicely to this month's AGM. Anyone here going?

Nicked from another BB:

Oil and gas explorer Nighthawk* (HAWK) updated the market with positive developments on its multi-horizon Jolly Ranch project, on which it now holds net acreage of 284,584 acres, sending its shares soaring 7.75p to 43p. The Craig 7-34 well has been logged and gave indications of having 400,000 barrels in place per 40 acre spacing from the Warsaw, Spergen and St Louis intervals or a total of 2.8 billion barrels in place across the whole project if shown to be continuous. The shallower Morrow Sandstone and Marmaton Sandstones also show good potential and will be tested at a later date. Indications suggest oil in place across the acreage, if the formations are uniform and continuous, of 1.4 billion and 1.5 billion barrels respectively. "Given the turmoil in international equity and commodity markets seems to be ebb ing currently we feel a company focused in a fiscally stable country with a massive domestic market has distinct advantages over emerging market plays," commented Daniel Stewart, which reiterated its 'buy' recommendation and 100p price target.

[Daniel Stewart's value takes into account the current poor market conditions]

[edit -the note from them in October had a 130p target, so the 100p is likely an error]

you forgot to highlight and/or read gave indications of ..... that said, i remain a fan of this share, but keep my fingers crossed

gnashlevel2 - 03 Nov 2008 18:48 - 647 of 1373

yeah agreed and done...with important edit too

Some investors have totally mis-read HAWK's original business plan.
The basic idea was to aquire and prove up resources with the intention of selling them to the highest bidder.

Jolly Ranch, seems to have thrown a spanner in the works, as it appears to be such a good find that HAWK may have changed their minds to develope the asset into full production instead.

With regard to valuations, its worth whatever someone else is prepared to pay for it. Personally I think it will sell for somewhere between 250p which is DB's original target, and 500p.

gnash, I would just like to point out a possible error in your calcs. When selling a company like this, some, if not most of the assets are subject to a certain ammount of speculation and therefore will be dis-counted to sell at a price, so that whoever is buying can make money out of it. Also the total potential profit in a well will be diluted over the lifespan of that well. So if Jolly Ranch was to last for say 30 years you would divide your calc by 30 odd and multiple up by your PE, maybe 4 or 5 would be reasonable in this instance.

All of this is my personal view and is not intended to mislead anyone, However, yes I do hold and intend to untill conclusion, or entry into Osceola whenever that kicks off.

halifax - 03 Nov 2008 19:48 - 649 of 1373

2.8billion barrels of oil.... now that's a really big pie in the sky..... daniel stewart are trying hard to improve their credibility....not.

gnashlevel2 - 03 Nov 2008 19:54 - 650 of 1373

Yo oilyrag, -not my calcs, a cutnpaste from elsewhere, which was admittedly on the light-hearted side (we deserve it after recent weeks eh?). But it shows how the sale price is becoming the prominent talk, I think all but the most skeptical followers know we have a 'biggy' now.

tbh, I will be dancing if I score 250p, though I think 500p is way more likely, and yep, I never thought I would say that, such is the impact of the Jolly 'surprise'.

Check out this new note from HW:
"..The continuing drilling success reinforces our opinion that Jolly Ranch is developing into a world class project..."

gnashlevel2 - 03 Nov 2008 19:57 - 651 of 1373

halifax, why are you so sore? caught-out by the recent rise? LOL
Don't worry, I'll keep you posted come sale time and remind you of your skepticism, or alternately, you will be able to show me my faith was misguided. Lets see.

cynic - 04 Nov 2008 08:13 - 652 of 1373

sp ticking up again this morning which implies that yesterday may not have been just a flash in the pan .... however, it is worth remembering that only about 3 months ago, sp was north of 100

gnashlevel2 - 04 Nov 2008 08:18 - 653 of 1373

Yep cynic, but we had a world markets crash which took out the whole sector, so Hawk was 100% blameless. This is a golden opp to revisit last summer's prices, but with in effect a far more lucrative prospect to boot.

cynic - 04 Nov 2008 08:24 - 654 of 1373

i was just making an observation

gnashlevel2 - 04 Nov 2008 08:25 - 655 of 1373

I know mate, just saying for the new investors that may visit here :-)

required field - 04 Nov 2008 09:23 - 656 of 1373

Guys, check out PTR (Petroneft on AIM),....might have hit the bottom as well...I'm at a loss on that one but am keeping the faith...you will get in at a much better price than myself !.
