Been holding this for a while and while there is nothing to set the world on fire there are positive moves upwards. The sales teams are producing results marketing a product which seems to be gaining approval in many countries.Although one swallow does not mean summer is here, there is a hint of spring in the air.

Motive has continued to develop its Tablet Television opportunities on both sides of the Atlantic during September.
In the US, following completion of the prototype demo the Company and its partner, Granite Broadcasting, are holding meetings in New York, Los Angeles, and San Francisco with major television industry organizations. The goal is to recruit additional strategic partners to our joint venture. Following these meetings, Tablet TV LLC will work toward a planned market test in San Francisco in the first quarter 2014.
In the UK, discussions are on-going with potential partners and licensees of Motive’s technology leading toward a UK launch in early 2014.

I fear there will be a grey (Black??) Market in counterfeit dongles, unless MTV is very clever. Like requiring registered-users to phone the Co each day to get the code for their dongle - by that means counterfeit dongles might be sussed and given priority to determine the User has paid . . . . or have I got the Business-Model wrong . . . . anyone?

Motive Television hooks up with Latin American heavyweight
By John Harrington January 28 2014, 8:02am
January has been a busy month for TV software pioneer Motive Television (LON:MTV) and it is keeping up the momentum with a new strategic agreement.
It has entered a joint sales arrangement with Castalia Communications, a leading independent distributor of broadcast, satellite, cable and web-based programming covering Latin America.
Castalia will market turn-key video-on-demand solutions to pay television operators and terrestrial broadcasters throughout the region combining Motive's commercially proven Content Express product with Castalia's access to content rights.
Content Express is Motive's new "one stop shop" platform, which encompasses both proven and new capabilities of Motive’s patented technology.
"Castalia is a valuable partner with a strong reputation and extensive client base in the region," said Motive's chief executive officer, Leonard Fertig.
"Our patented and fully integrated revenue enhancing technology-based solutions allow us to jointly create new business opportunities for our clients. Castalia's content and regional expertise will help us build on our success in developed and emerging markets in Europe, Africa and North America," he added.
Luis Torres-Bohl, president of Castalia, hailed Motive's technology for the way it used existing content distribution networks to provide content and value added services to viewers across multiple devices.
Content distributors can make money out of offering these new services without having to make a chunky investment in new technology or infrastructure.
"We are excited to join with Motive and offer our clients the ability to benefit from video-on-demand with this content and technology package, and look forward to working with them to enhance and grow their business models," Torres-Bohl said.

Tablet Television Moves Toward Commercial Launch
London 7 April 2014: Motive Television PLC ("Motive" or "Company") today announces that the following announcement was made by Tablet Television LLC, a joint venture of Motive Television plc and Granite Broadcasting Corporation ("Granite"):
TABLET TELEVISION MOVES TOWARD COMMERCIAL LAUNCH
-America's First Broadcast TV Service for Tablets Available for
Live Demo at 2014 NAB Show(R)-
-Announces San Francisco as First Beta Market in Partnership with
Granite Broadcasting's KOFY-TV-
Tablet Television LLC [www.tablet-tv.com], America's first broadcast TV service for tablets, announced today during a press conference at the 2014 NAB Show briefing room #N242 that Tablet TV is available for live demo at the 2014 NAB Show taking place April 7-10(th) at the Las Vegas Convention Center Booth N2439 in the North Hall. The Company also announced today plans for its first beta market test in San Francisco and start of commercial operations in the fall 2014.
Tablet TV LLC, a joint venture of Motive Television plc and Granite Broadcasting Corporation, truly puts television a touch away for portable devices with no subscription fee, cable, satellite or Internet required.
Utilizing existing ATSC distribution viewers will be able to receive direct, free over-the-air television transmissions to their portable devices. This first broadcast TV service for tablets will enable viewers to watch and record live broadcast content in high definition in every market in the U.S. and, in association with local broadcasting partners, will be able to provide on-demand packages. Additional features such as fully-integrated social television will be available to Internet connected viewers.
Tablet TV will conduct its first full market beta test this summer in San Francisco. The beta test will be conducted in partnership with Granite's KOFY-TV. Leading up to the San Francisco launch, Tablet TV expects to work with Frank N. Magid Associates, Inc. to fine tune its feature and service offering, as well as its consumer marketing efforts. Tablet TV expects to commence commercial operations in fall 2014.
Leonard M Fertig, CEO of Motive commented, "We are extremely pleased with the successful testing of the commercial design, which utilizes Motive's proven technology in use in markets around the globe, and the continued progress toward the launch of Tablet TV. Tablets are the fastest growing media device in U.S. history and the ability to directly watch and record over-the-air HD television and receive VoD with no broadband connection creates a compelling proposition for anytime, anywhere, any device viewing."
Granite Chairman Peter Markham commented, "Tablet TV is a unique service that we envision making available to every viewer in the U.S. with a tablet and access to a local television station signal where the most popular programs on free Over the-Air (OTA) television are found. It is a broadcaster friendly offering that requires no capital investment and enhances local broadcaster's business models by extending their brand and content, leveraging their existing digital distribution network, and creating new revenue opportunities. With a compelling offering for viewers and broadcasters we look forward to our beta launch in San Francisco later this year, a technology savvy market that we believe will be very receptive to Tablet TV."
Tablet TV will be the first complete television service for the U.S. market of 140 million tablet users using the current over the air high definition (HD) ATSC broadcast television signals that will provide access to current HD broadcast television prime time TV and sports, plus on-demand movies and programs. The new television service will be marketed in cooperation with participating broadcasters in each market as it rolls out across the United States, starting with the television markets that Granite Television serves.
With patented and proprietary technology, tablet owners in every market will be able to watch and record all the programming currently broadcast over all the digital terrestrial channels and networks. Additionally, Tablet TV subscribers will be able to download a selection of video-on-demand movies and programs without the need for Internet access and, when they are connected, use integrated social networking and access anything available over the Internet.
Video viewing on tablets is rapidly increasing, with recent figures from GFK showing that 33% of Americans own a tablet and watch at least one hour of video every day on them. According to the DRG U.S. Personal Computer, Tablet, & Mobile Phone Historical Baseline and Forecast, U.S. Tablet users exceeded 140 million in 2013 with active tablets in use projected to exceed 340 million by 2017.

All wonderful stuff, no doubt, but the really interesting thing is omitted....where's the Profit?
Without a decent income stream MTV is collecting Deals that have little shareholder value . . . hence the miserable sp.
EDIT(8July2014)- Wow! Yesterday ~0.01p and plus38% today as things are "improving" - but TO is small, Losses reduced but no profits - yet. Still they seem to be active in good Partnerships, if they can stand the Long Term - therein lies the issue - do they have the Stamina?
EDIT(29Sept2014)-Oops, missed Dir Buys in July2014: about a Grand apiece - hardly says Buy. Indeed, IMHO, Dir-buying below £50k-worth says Sell. We shall have to wait and see.....
The Warrants granted to other Dirs doesn't appear to encourage them investing their own money in this business. . . . Ho-Hum.

The world of broadcasting is set for a real shake up over the next few years, and according to a detailed industry report to be issued next week Tablet Tv will account for as much as 35% of the future viewing audiences.Leading broadcasters are aware that standalone Tablet Tv could have a very significant impact on the industry as a whole, and offers unique advantages for their advertisers and content providers.
The report also states that the future of Tablet Tv will steer towards an "over the air" concept, rather than internet streamed services, yet still offer full "interactive services" for both live broadcasts and "on demand".The forecasts are that Tablet Tv will become the biggest growth area in the industry over the next five to ten years, and one industry analyst believes the market will be worth in excess of $6 billion by 2020.One company at the heart of the action in Tablet Tv is Motive Television, who are a small british company led by Leonard Fertig, known as an innovator and visionary leader who has frequently been at the leading edge of the industry. The report will be published on 19th August.

Hurrah for tablet TV but will MTV be in the running to mop up some of the gravy? For the price of a good curry you can pick up a million or so. I would think that the first step will be to knock some of the noughts off . But Hi Ho I have been in it for the long haul and its certainly that. Now and then I buy up a few more as I still believe very much that this is the future.
