Socrates - 12 Aug 2005 17:57 - 6545 of 24230

Hello, ever reliable Choccy. Shall I put the kettle on?

chocolat - 12 Aug 2005 18:01 - 6546 of 24230

Err, can we cut straight to the bubbles please?

Socrates - 12 Aug 2005 18:26 - 6547 of 24230

Socrates - 12 Aug 2005 19:37 - 6549 of 24230

Oh Choccy, can I stand the pace I wonder. I can see I am going to have to obtain a bigger bath!

Socrates - 12 Aug 2005 20:30 - 6551 of 24230

Big Al - 12 Aug 2005 20:31 - 6553 of 24230

Spaceman - 12 Aug 2005 20:36 - 6554 of 24230

southern comfort please, make it a large one, very large...

Big Al - 12 Aug 2005 20:39 - 6555 of 24230

Chased down with a small one obviously! ;-)

Spaceman - 12 Aug 2005 20:42 - 6556 of 24230

AL, probably a couple of large ones first! I am feeling a bit delacate today after a night out last night, I had to take the afternoon off work..

Socrates - 12 Aug 2005 21:49 - 6557 of 24230

I got the bath, the only one big enough in the shop was one of those with water jets. It will just have to do. Off to get some taps now. Back later.

Big Al - 12 Aug 2005 22:25 - 6558 of 24230

Spacie - that's terrible. No wonder GB is in such a state with half the country failing to cope with a few bevvies the night before. ;-) Well done for making the morning! LOL!

Spaceman - 12 Aug 2005 22:28 - 6559 of 24230

Al, I am proud to be contributing to the decline ;-)

Spaceman - 13 Aug 2005 02:23 - 6560 of 24230

Just got back home after an hour out in the country watching the Perseid Meteor Shower, we saw about 20, very nice.

optomistic - 13 Aug 2005 10:16 - 6561 of 24230

Got up at 2.40 to watch the meteors, went back to bed at 3.10 after seeing nothing.......Never saw anything at all then until 9.30.

Spaceman - 13 Aug 2005 10:32 - 6562 of 24230

optimistic, they were about 1 minute apart and varied a lot in brightness and amount of sky they covered, the best one we saw was the first one as it streaked across the whole sky. You really need to be away from town lights, if you can see some of the fainter stars clearly then your eyes are sensitive enough to pick them up. Apparently the best technique is to lay on the ground and look at the sky your brain will notice the movement very quickly. We leant against the car and looked north.

You should be able to see them again tonight, but if you watch the sky you get them every night, this shower just ensures there are a lot more than normal.
