most people do that dil. i've heard quotes on tv or media from max clifford, michael winner etc all saying their friemds and associates lost lots on stock market.
groucho marx lost a fortune and he was very witty!
but as we all know, the boys with noses in trough in the city are the few real gainers......maybe some like you might get the odd small profit
ps: anyone with short still on this is in trouble as its ben climbing for some time now

People smart enough to play it both ways are always smart enough to recognise when it's turning sour and jump ship.
Those who get caught into trouble are those who only go long, blame shorters for the drop in price (and their subsequent losses) and can't read between the lines of anything market-related. MDX "investors" are a prime example as are those named above - complete idiots! ;-)))) I'm sure another gossip column and insurance ad will set Max and Mike on their way again, deserved or not!! LOL!

Why did you invest in MDX Dil?
Dil
- 08 Sep 2009 22:08
- 663 of 974
It was a short term trade based on it being oversold and due a 10% pre xmas rally from its low.
How bout you ? Why did you invest more and more and more all the way down ?
Ask me if I give a crap whether it ever relists tabby ? :-)

tabby gets post 666 hmmm .... :-)
PS everyones property portfolio has probably risen over the last 3 months , the fact that it had fallen a lot more over the previous 12 months you fail to mention tabby. This is typical of your one eyed view on things.

Now that I have shit for brains out of the way>
Good morning allDil let me just say to you that I have the MDX scenario covered as safe as one couldand a good contingency plan in placeI am very surprised that you use MDX and oversold in the same sentence?yer mates wont be happy!!
DilI purchased another flat around a year ago at a silly priceI believe I told you?my rents have increasedtotal valuation comparable to two years agosimplesbut try and make it difficult.

;-))))))))
You favoured selective post, Tabatha? ;-0
Specifically, I don't see the bet upside in MKS. Earnings visibility in retail is still quite poor and the divi is hardly stunning at around 4.5% (and forecast to drop). Cover is not ideal in the current environment and PEG numbers dismal. Latest cashflow is good however.

not many companies pay a divi anymore.......re rbs etc over last year.......so 4.5% sounds great in current environment........better than a corrupt bank anyway

There we go tabs "total valuation comparable to two years ago" as opposed to "property portfolio has also seen a rise over the last three months" .... isn't that what I said ???
marni ... isg 7% divi and flying.

Marni - plenty ahead of this and of the biggies BP, RDSB, VOD, BT are the pick - even more so if you bought a few months back. Additionally, their divis are all forecast to rise, not drop, EPS on all but BT are covered by cashflow with 2x divi coverage by EPS. No brianers.
Many smaller outfits also in that position, IRV being one I've held since the winter and increased holding in June - double digit divi bagged.
I cannot see, comparitively, a compelling case to jump into MKS when there are better opportunities, even now.
