maddoctor - who are you to talk, you're mad!

Seriously, ta is fine but e & p oilers are news driven so lets await some news then that's good.

Meantime it may be stuck in a very narrow channel, of course if oil drops more then the H & S may well apply.

(As usual dyor and don't depend on others for advice what to do).

For information only posted over the road on advfn

Starts:- This news is 2 days old.

"An army general in Madagascar has declared military rule in the country."

http://news.bbc.co.uk/1/hi/world/africa/6161398.stm

Before anyone panics here is what JLP say this morning.

"Media Report 18 November 2006 on Madagascar

Jubilee announces that it is aware of a media report alleging a possible coup
could have occurred in Madagascar.

The Company has made stringent enquiries of its advisers, employees and
consultants resident and operating in Madagascar, both in the regions and the
capital Antananarivo. The Company has received unanimous assurances from the
aforementioned that the capital and surrounding areas are peaceful and that
business is as normal."

And it looks like its all over..........

http://news.bbc.co.uk/1/low/world/africa/2781291.stm

I wonder why JLP commneted at all?

All the same these African Nations, always someone wanting to be the Boss. -Ends

love it ..... "a media report alleging a possible coup could have occurred" .... doesn't get much more unsubstantiated than that!

seawallwalker - 20 Nov 2006 08:24 - 6575 of 7811

Incredibly vague......

The arrest of the leader is a bit of the same.

Funny old game news reporting.

BBC as well!

Slipping standards.

Still, there's a 4% drop in JLP, and that's the only news reported, so it has had an effect.

Sterling looking weak, but it may have nothing to do with Madagascar.

And out.........at last I am free.

Bye all and good luck.

Signed an ex-Sterling Bull.

cynic - 20 Nov 2006 21:45 - 6577 of 7811

sensible chap ...... now have a look at some "proper" stocks - BUR, TLW, PFC, SHP, SSL, Dow, FTSE and so on and so forth

Andy - 20 Nov 2006 23:11 - 6578 of 7811

SWw,

Good luck in your choice of stocks.

I actually think Kurdistan may come in before Madagascar drilling, and we have onshore Texas and Louissiana, plus a few W. African drills to come in the next few months.

I see SEY as "proper" as any other oiler, it takes time, and in the meantime the cash is mounting up.

queen1 - 20 Nov 2006 23:35 - 6579 of 7811

Cynic, if you're not a holder why are you continually on the thread, putting SEY down? Are we shorting perhaps?

cynic - 21 Nov 2006 07:16 - 6580 of 7811

i am not shorting; i used to be a holder; i was asked to comment by SWW ...... any other questions?

queen1 - 21 Nov 2006 13:19 - 6581 of 7811

Well actually you didn't answer the question as to why you're always putting the share down. Everyone's entitled to their opinion although it adds credibility if you're actually a holder.

cynic - 21 Nov 2006 13:26 - 6582 of 7811

i showed the logic to support my opinion ..... if you don't like it, then that is your prerogative ...... as is the choice of whether you keep holding the shares or even throwing in more money when imo, it could be much better utilised elsewhere

queen1 - 21 Nov 2006 13:27 - 6583 of 7811

Indeed. Let's hope that Vulcan perspective doesn't become a reality :-)

cynic - 21 Nov 2006 13:30 - 6584 of 7811

only Vulcan I know, was blacksmith to the gods, and in much later years, the name given to an RAF bomber with atomic capability

queen1 - 21 Nov 2006 14:11 - 6585 of 7811

Not a Trekkie then!

cynic - 21 Nov 2006 15:02 - 6586 of 7811

assuredly not, though i do walk round the golf course and even go further afield when on holiday

queen1 - 21 Nov 2006 17:07 - 6587 of 7811

Splendid. But we'll stop it there otherwise we'll get onto the Klingons and be in a whole world of hurt.

seawallwalker - 21 Nov 2006 19:10 - 6588 of 7811

Nothing worse than kling ons............

cynic - 21 Nov 2006 19:16 - 6589 of 7811

sound like some form of underwear for born-again virgins

optomistic - 21 Nov 2006 19:24 - 6590 of 7811

Never thought of that cynic....you an expert.

cynic - 22 Nov 2006 07:48 - 6591 of 7811
