glad to see you have your priorities right Cynners in so far as weighing up a place by the standard of eateries it boasts within its envorons. / depends on the female company obviously in addition,,,( OT,,,,) -> What with your line of work have you ever come across an outfit called Gall and Thompson - suppliers to oil ind. Currently is a subsid of Lup Cap (LUP) which ex Tomkins entrepreneur Greg Hutchins bought, and reinvented, as a supplier to a niche mkt of the building industry. Now ousted himself by a new board whose personnel all have a background in building and construction there is quite naturally talk of it selling off its oil arm G&T to concentrate on core activities ..Juste so happens G&T is is a positive cash cow bought @ a time when LUP was a shell under Michael Flight, Oliver Stockern and James Orr in 1990s .....Orr actually gave up his highly paid job as Barclays head bean counter with most attractive salary and fringe benefits to become FD of tiny LUP . Says it all really ........Also watch out for a soon to be announced floating of a company called Madagascar oil ......ACC. to oil guru/ author Peter Odell the country is sitting on a bed of the stuff.......,,,,,,,,,,,,,,,,,,,,,,,,,,,,,,,,,,,,,,,,,,,,,,,,,,,,,,,,,,,,,,,,,,,,,,,,,,,,,,,,,,,,,,,,,,,,,,,,,,,,,,,,,,,,,,,,,,,,,,,,,,,,,,,,,,,,,,,,,,,,,,,,,,,,,,,,,,,,,,,,,,,,,,,,,,,,,,,,,,,,,,,,,,,,,,,,,,,,,,,,,,,,,,,,,,,,,,,,,,,,,,,..

Looks like a delay...

From the LSE board...

projectmanager Today 08:31

They had to pull the completion (upper) due to a part of it falling off. Thus not allowing them to land and test the upper completion. Fishing gear will be on the way to the rig today, nothing to worry about, it will just delay flowtesting by a few days..

$L

sp heading south, which is not unduly surprising given that news is awaited (sell on the news) and the huge rise of recent weeks ..... charts are pretty meaningless here, but 235/245 looks a potential support (bounce) level, but if that fails (no real reason why it should on present info and sentiment) then i guess 200/210 is a possibility

required field - 22 Nov 2010 08:59 - 682 of 3002

Cynic,...if they confirm a large amount of commercial oil....with a value in excess of a billion pounds.....is the sp going to drop ?...I would hope not...might be worth topping up.....I can see that the sp has slipped this morning....

required field - 22 Nov 2010 09:09 - 683 of 3002

Blimey...that was a sharp rebound...did not even have time for a top up........

cynic - 22 Nov 2010 09:14 - 684 of 3002

what rebound? ...... sp was 266/267 a second ago

required field - 22 Nov 2010 09:15 - 685 of 3002

was at 260 for a minute or so....then up to 269....

required field - 22 Nov 2010 09:18 - 686 of 3002

I spoke too soon.....volatile today....it seems....

Proselenes - 22 Nov 2010 10:03 - 687 of 3002

Operational problems - nothing major - however, flow test still expected to be complete around end of the month.

cynic - 22 Nov 2010 10:06 - 688 of 3002

in that respect you're right ..... meanwhile, not such a dumb move to have banked some profits!

Proselenes - 22 Nov 2010 10:08 - 689 of 3002

cynic, you banked at 253p and the price went up to 300p to sell.

Its still way over 253p - so its not a good move as yet....... its been a bad move as waiting 24 hours would have got you over 40p a share more.

cynic - 22 Nov 2010 10:08 - 690 of 3002

i did indeed, and also twice as many at 281, though still remain significantly o'weight in the stock

============

one way traffic here at the moment, and 240/245 not looking quite so fanciful

Proselenes - 22 Nov 2010 10:58 - 691 of 3002

Some panic selling today it seems, but makes an ideal top up point for buyers :)

Slight operational problem, nothing serious but pushes the flow test back a few days.

Expect it to start around Friday if not before is what the rumours say.

cynic - 22 Nov 2010 11:03 - 692 of 3002

with MMs controlling all, it's virtually impossible to determine the strength of the selling pressure ..... i'll certainly consider buying more if sp does indeed fall back to that 240/245 band, but shall be equally happy (or even happier) if there is a strong rebound before then
