TANDEM.... NOT ONLY A BICYCLE MADE FOR 2 - A BRILLIANT INVESMENT OPPORTUNITY TOO (TND)

legend290782 - 03 Feb 2005 13:30

The legend dipped his toe in the other week. This came from the tipper of ASC, DTG. Watch very very carefully. Potential 80% easily.

Very undervalued, plenty of cash, eps forecasts put company on a p/e of 3.

Although badly run, it looks like there is light at the end of the tunnel. DYOR

Ramu...

If Tandem wanted to take this private then i think they would have to pay at least 30p per share so I am not bothered either way.

Even so, I think someone will look to buy this. Anyone that does take this over at around 30p will get their money back in 5 years!!!!

Even though this is a 'retail' stock, it has tons of cash in relation to mkt cap... it has eps too. It may even pay a dividend - we shall see.

One thing i do know is that this has been the weirdest stock i have held - look over the past few months at the sellers 10,20,100 and some times 500 shares sold - absolutely loads of them. Then a buyer of around 20-100k!!

I think mms have been deceived thinking that they are picking up more stock than they actually are.

What did make me laugh was mms calling em down 3-4p over the past few weeks on only 20k shares sold on some days, and that yesterday they opened thes up down half a penny. I think this will reach my target very soon.

Has anyone seen KBC's research note??!! - even though EPS forecasts have gone down, it is very Bullish.

More than happy to hold - I am more confident than ever before now.

Good call Legend !I have watched with interest since you started this thread.I would have bought into this the other day at 19.5 but unable to release any sizable profit lately from my portfolio due to current state of markets. Will keep an eye on these and any future tips you get.
Thanks DB66

4 excellent tips at the mo:

1) XKO
2) BNH
3) UTF
4) TOA

3 should be a quick turnaround!!!

Keep smiling

Beware of this company. I bought 7000 shares back in 2000 and through consolidation (or day light robbery!) I now possess 32 shares. In my experience 'consolidation' = poor management.

skyhigh - 25 Apr 2005 11:20 - 73 of 124

I don't know what anyone else thinks but I see no reason why Tandem would want to or need to consolidate shares now. Profits are good, eps good. mgmt good. The're looking to reduce costs further & squeeze out better margins over the next yr to maintain profit or improve profit a little as trading conditions are poor at the moment.

I lost alot money a couple of yrs ago when MV sports were aquired by Tandem. I don't expect to get it all back but if the sp were to double from here ( which i think is possible) I'd be happy.

legend290782 - 25 Apr 2005 13:05 - 74 of 124

Bella, i agree with skyhigh... i see no reason for consolidation, it has bags of cash and is generating plenty of cash. This is purely and simply a good value stock. If anything, I think it might get taken over if it keeps at this low level.

I am happy to let it run its course and tick up to a true and fair value. Not selling a single share for less than 30p

doughboy66 - 25 Apr 2005 14:32 - 75 of 124

Thanks legend for those ideas,a very interesting group of companies.I am going to have a punt on all those except toad when funds become available.
Whats happening with Tandem ? just a bit of profit taking i presume.

Yes I would have thought so...

Not concerned one bit, the results speak for themselves although the chairman wasn't optimistic. They should get good write ups this week in the financial press one would think.

Well done to those who followed in on xko!!!!!!! loads more to come imho

Just like with these. These are way too cheap at current price.

Legend,

I'm watching paint dry here. What will it take to move this price?

skyhigh - 13 May 2005 08:14 - 80 of 124

Who knows ! there are plenty of other shares I hold in the same boat... good results and profits but no share price rise!

Also, there is not much new investment in Aim/small caps going on at the moment.. may need to wait until the autumn...

TND profit forecast for the current yr is only 1.3m v 1.2m last yr- doesn't help... could also do with announcing dividend payment.. that would help..
I'm staying in TND as many shares I get out of because the're boring..do eventually sometimes come good...we'll see....

transco - 14 May 2005 11:03 - 81 of 124

couldnt agree more this will fly someday soon

skyhigh - 18 May 2005 11:22 - 82 of 124

Re : my posts 49 & 52. ie "But even if the results are good, sp could still go down/stay where it is! It's a funny old market at the moment..(imho)"

looks as if it's going down & down afterall ! could be going sub 17p. TND not looking attractive in the med term not much profit increase this yr over last yr. not exciting at all. need aquisition/strategy newsflow etc.
Also, the current mkt conditions for these type of shares are crap at the moment.

legend290782 - 19 May 2005 00:58 - 83 of 124

If my sources are right what they tell me then i would keep these shares!!

It is a joke where the sp is now.

Keep smiling everyone!!

sidtrix - 19 May 2005 09:17 - 84 of 124

So Legend is that for mid term or long term... ne hints to why keep???

Barry Harris - 19 May 2005 09:26 - 85 of 124

Could someone tell me: was Tandem previously MV Sports and were the shares consolidated and what was the ratio on the consolidation ? Thanks in advance.

ramu - 24 May 2005 19:36 - 86 of 124

Legend,

You cannot keep these shares forever - the SP is down 20% and one poster thinks this will drift even further. However, I will be keeping mine until it touches 30p - hope this doesn't turn out to be just a dream!!

Barry,

There is a relationship between MV Sports and TND - check out Interactive Investor website for more details. Good luck.

legend290782 - 02 Jun 2005 20:09 - 87 of 124

Am still holding these ramu. I will wait for the 30p. It will happen. So much value in this co.

Trust me it won't be a dream!!! Lets see what the agm brings and after it ;-)
