no ... it smacks of you not telling the whole truth (i.e. did you top slice? .... in which case, your entry price is actually < your initial purchase price) or making it up as you go along

queen1 - 23 Apr 2007 11:30 - 6818 of 7811

Who the hell are you to accuse me of lying? I know it must be tough to know that people have made money from a share that you don't rate but you'll need to learn to live with it as I suspect it happens to you rather a lot.

cynic - 23 Apr 2007 11:43 - 6819 of 7811

did not say lie .... merely observed that it would appear that you were being being somewhat economic with the truth .... and all you have posted since, does nothing to dispel that.

if you can make money from buying and selling worms, i am delighted for you, but it does not mean that i would suggest such an investment made good sense even if every so often, said worm turns up gold ..... for that matter i would not recommmend playing roulette either, unless it pleases you to lose money, even if once in while someone walks away (rare!) with a stash.

cynic - 23 Apr 2007 12:18 - 6820 of 7811

buying/selling "pure" would have been a better analogy!

queen1 - 23 Apr 2007 13:12 - 6821 of 7811

I think you're in the wrong game cynic if you're uncomfortable with the thought of losing money on a shares investment every now and again. But quite why you're still pushing this train of thought is beyond me as the fact remains that I bought my SEY holding in December 2002 and have enjoyed the ride ever since (with the caveat that I'd obviously prefer the current SP to be higher and recent results to have been better).

cynic - 23 Apr 2007 13:34 - 6822 of 7811

you are an ass or a jenny ... not sure which! ..... i buy (unfortunately) many shares that lose me money, but even in my advanced years, am slowly learning when to cut losses or take profits ..... it would seem you are happy to be a passive non-trader which you delude yourself is the best way of making money

queen1 - 23 Apr 2007 14:27 - 6823 of 7811

You would have thought that "in your advanced years" you would have been able to engage in a discussion without the need for name calling. Just how long ago was it that you were in the playground?

cynic - 23 Apr 2007 15:18 - 6824 of 7811

have just been admitted to the second childhood playground ..... thought i had posted .... obviously not ..... if you take offense at being called and ass/jenny, i apologise

queen1 - 23 Apr 2007 15:31 - 6825 of 7811

It's not the severity of the name, it's the fact you feel the need to use one at all that is sad.

cynic - 23 Apr 2007 15:34 - 6826 of 7811

could have been much more waspish .... lol! ..... confess did not feel i was being "personally abusive", but clearly you did .... or was it just non-pc?

queen1 - 23 Apr 2007 15:35 - 6827 of 7811

I tell you what, why don't we forget it. I'll invest in what I want to invest in and if I need any advice I'll be sure to ask you for it.

cynic - 23 Apr 2007 15:37 - 6828 of 7811

i don't ask you to ask for my advice ... it's offered free and gratis to all those who wish to note it or reject it ...... happy "pure" picking!

TANKER - 24 Apr 2007 09:45 - 6829 of 7811

so what news are we going to get tomorrow,

seawallwalker - 24 Apr 2007 14:45 - 6830 of 7811

Good question TANKER

The next thought after Kurdistan possibly is that maybe Sterling are doing something you want them to do, i.e. raise their profile in the USA, I note that the webcast time reference is EST and it is in New York.

Then of course they have Thunderstud drilling, that no one can establish who the operator is but supposedly targeting 1TCF of gas if I have the figures right from my memory.

Well one thing is for sure, they don't want to mention too much about Chinguetti, as we know that is hovering around 22kbopd, net to Sterling around 12% or take.

Sterling has a Market cap of 247 million, and the current sp is 15.5pence.

Lets see why from their finals.

TANKER - 24 Apr 2007 14:48 - 6831 of 7811

have any of the board bought shares with there own money .

They did also buy before that but the records are not available easily

seawallwalker - 25 Apr 2007 07:00 - 6833 of 7811

lookeslike we may see a test of 14.5p.

TANKER - 25 Apr 2007 11:18 - 6834 of 7811

they were not bought with there own money opptions,

seawallwalker - 25 Apr 2007 15:00 - 6835 of 7811

Some are options some are not.

Some also were taken as a result of placings, particularly the January one and the May 2005 one.

Calloway bought at 28 pence with his own money, Butler bought with her own money to go into trust for grandchildren if memory serves.

TANKER I have said this before but you bought and hold a share you are unhappy with.

I know you bought recently, so why complain about the management.

If anything you should look to your own management of your money and decide if you need financial help.

I do not mean to offend, but you are a mystery as to why you have these at all.

Not logical Captain.

queen1 - 25 Apr 2007 18:32 - 6836 of 7811

Not logical at all SWW, well put.
