New Biom Technologies (BIOM)

hangon - 16 Jul 2010 15:31

DYOR - - - - - - - - - Biom Technologies mid-July 2010 AIM
This is the new resting place for Stanelco, the wonder producer of starch-based food-trays...only they didn't catch on.Over the last 10 years to 2010 the 0.1p shares traded abour 2.5p then shot up to 24p during 2005 with promise of Tray-Trials I understand. Within a year or so, they fell to new depths and finished at 0.2p Of course they were full-list then and some were held in ISA's hoping there would be a big profit...only now these are distressed sales as the Company slunk off to AIM, presumably "...to provide better shareholder-value"
Perhaps someone closer to the Co. can explain why the new name is Biome
....rhymes with Home. Often it is done to remove the previous sp-history.
Could it be..so new investors can bask in ignorance, etc. I'm not aware of any "change" in fortune for SEO, rather the reverse.
In my limited experience, the longer the name of a company the longer you have to wait for any return...Huh . . . . . .
. SEO had been a terrible investment.
DYOR.
Can Biome be any worse...?
EDIT ( 24April2017)- "just woken up" -me not BIOME - sp is 154, but I note about June 2013 there was what looks like a CONsolidation . . do I recall many LT investors were sold-short?... as I believe the (new share) numbers were terrible! . . . Anyone?

At this price its easy to average down and get your losses back sooner, I can see the sp recovering to more sensible 2p-3p+ level when they get into profit in 2011 fill your boots.

Hi Driver,

Re averaging down. I agree, but I was caught before as I had already averaged down all the way from 27p to 5p. It was then I realized I could chase this all the way down to the lowest sp it ever reached. Averaging down is only a good idea, if you believe in the company. Not having a dig at Biome, as I am now 'starting' to believe again, but not enough to throw good money after bad. As said, I am now positive on the stock, but there is still a huge amount of investor confidence needs building up.
I can fully understand that those who are recently IN are getting excited, but for those of us who are still invested at a huge loss, excitement is a long way off.
Those recently invested, got in at the right time, so best of luck to them. I obviously did not.

didn't think it would last long.....

Point taken I also wont get excited till it gets to 50p having not sold at 29p

greekman - 11 Dec 2010 16:10 - 75 of 644

Just noticed a sell of 37,075,085 went through at 1616 hrs on Thurs that was not reported as a late trade.
The price obtained .1719. The bid at the time was .19 so not much of a believer there then!
But remember the market is a level playing field, presumably as level as FIFA officials.

Someone on a competitors thread has posted that patience is needed and that the trouble with some people is that 'They just can't wait'.

I just had to reply with the following.

Patience they say is a virtue. If so I must be one of the most virtuous people on the planet.
When I first bought into this company, admittedly when it went by the name of Stanelco, I was much younger, had far more hair and at least 3 more teeth. My knees did not creak so much and I could still see without glasses.
So please don't say, 'Some people just can't wait'.
If I have to wait much longer, I may as well take what money I have left in Biome and put it into a funeral plan, before it's too late.
Patience be B******d.

Greek.

3 monkies - 09 Feb 2011 16:34 - 82 of 644

As I said in an ealier thread about stanelco which we know it as Biome - held since 2005 and been absolutely crap - the way they went down years ago and in the short time there was no real chance of getting out without loosing a lot of money, which us long term investors are doing - it was all supposed to be good then pow!!!!!!!!! Thought Biome might have gone bust but obviously they are still hanging in there. Hope we live to see them return and some good news HA!

cynic - 09 Feb 2011 16:38 - 83 of 644

said it before and shall say it again .... i've learnt from bitter experience that 95% of the time it is better to bit the bullet with the first hit than to hang on in hope of recovery

Balerboy - 09 Feb 2011 16:39 - 84 of 644

Thats just it.....they're still there, not gone bust and we've lost the lot, so some good will come sometime....... keep the faith.,.

cynic - 09 Feb 2011 16:46 - 85 of 644

you mean because their plastic is biodegradable, the flowers on your grave will have a better life?

Balerboy - 09 Feb 2011 17:04 - 86 of 644

I'll let you know when to buy them as I could out live them...message from the grave......spooky.,.

kimoldfield - 09 Feb 2011 17:09 - 87 of 644

I hope it's not a message to say they've gone bust..............that would be a grave message indeed! :o)
