Media Corp (Gaming Corpoartion GMC)Attracting Some Big Names. (MDC)

goldfinger - 05 Dec 2003 00:33

Up nearlly 15% today and I beleive there could be more to come.

Evil Knievil has tipped it on EvilCast and has bought in 100,000 worth of stock a notifiable interest. He rates the management very highly and says they are attracting all the big bookmakers to the online casino site including punters the likes of William Hill, Chandler, and Ladbrokes. The company are now running at a profit every month and should break into a yearly profit from the years previous loss very soon. The company also ownes in partnership with a Swiss firm Boss another casino site and by all accounts that is doing well.

Im looking at this one as a momentum play pretty high risk as there are competitors out there but I feel the management will give it the edge.

Please DYOR, and remember you are responsible for your own buying and selling actions.

cheers GF.

In IC today:

Friday 20/05/05
Gaming Corporation has not been slow to capitalise on the booming online gaming market. A string of acquisitions and new business lines have equipped it with the largest gambling internet search portfolio in the world. Its Casino.co.uk site is the most visited gaming site in the UK, attracting over 3m visitors a month. These visitors can catch up on gaming news and follow links to other sites.

And earlier this month, Gaming Corp snapped up Gambling.com, the leading gaming search engine, with links to over 500 affiliate sites. Both Gambling.com and Casino.co.uk generate revenue on a pay-per-click basis as visitors follow links. Previously, Gaming Corp collected fixed fees from advertisers, but it moved to a pay-per-click model in January, and has seen significant improvements in profitability.

In April, the company entered the mobile gaming market in a deal with Orange to offer nine mobile-handset-based games.

Gaming Corporation has established a strong position in the online gaming arena, and is making progress towards profitability. The shares' liquidity has also improved, with several large institutions building stakes. Good value.

I think its been mentioned on the board before about patience, and I'm sticking with a full year horizon. When I get the necessary funds another batch will be brought then just sit back and watch this tick away.....

squidd - 20 May 2005 08:48 - 692 of 1117

Have been watching this since unloading earlier in year. The recent director buys are negligible when compared to the M's they sold in early March.

I am hoping to build a fair size stake and wait too--with the market all over the place at the moment it's nice to feel fairly confident in a company. there were large director sells earlier in the year but they were supposed to be satisfying institutional demands. high hopes with this one!

do thay buy for clients or is that a fund buying in??

belisce6 - 26 May 2005 14:25 - 696 of 1117

seems like the impatient are leaving......

will be waiting to see if the mobile phone-gambling takes off at all.....

Chiva20 - 26 May 2005 15:41 - 697 of 1117

Hi Belisce, I got impatient with GMC a month or so ago. Mobile marketing is a dimension of the industry I'm involved with myself. Although we've always regarded it with heaps of potential it's never really wow'd us to any extent, and it's still regarded as an incidental revenue stream as oppose to anything worth really investing in. After some thought I fancy mobile gambling will follow suit, I'd like to be wrong but I don't think it will have the same impact as internet gambling, just like m commerce is a fraction of the industry e commerce currently is. It's a difficult one to call, I'm watching closely.

belisce6 - 27 May 2005 11:40 - 698 of 1117

thanks Chiva20.....the mobile thing was slightly worrying me as well........because i was thinking that to get thru to people, are they allowed to send unsolicited advertising for it ? - i thought not.....

i thought that the customer would have to initially ask for access on their mobile.....not to sure about any of this......

I also tend to think that the people that internet-gamble generally do it at work when bored, or in the evening at home when bored.....so they may in fact not want to gamble on their mobile; as there will be no need to.

However, on the other hand; i suppose it (GMC going to mobile-gambling) is all about trying to tap into the people that are simply hooked on it......

Chiva20 - 27 May 2005 12:13 - 699 of 1117

Belisce, agreed completely. The permission issues you mention are spot on aswell, although as with all of these things no doubt they'll find a way around it somehow, but I imagine it will be a temporary hindrance and an area for negative publicity. I play poker online etc. occasionally and I would only really do that at home when bored as you say. I think most mobile gaming is active primarily in the under 18's demographic which naturally doesn't fit the gambling profile. I am guessing here though. They may tap into the hooked market but this is only a fraction of the 'bored market' (shall we call them), I just can't see this crossing into mass market as GMC would like to portray.

All IMO, I was bullish about GMC once upon a time but I've changed opinion more recently. Good luck all

Don't get excited but it's turned blue. Volume increasing lots of buys.

maybe nothing but I tried to add a few today and was told no trading online please ring the broker--Hoodless Brennan. so topped up elsewhere on another one !

Paulo2 - 01 Jun 2005 09:21 - 702 of 1117

Sold majority of my stake this morning. With no news expected can only see this share drifting downwards for the next few months. Will be looking to get back in at about 10p any time before the finals.

dclinton - 01 Jun 2005 22:21 - 703 of 1117

moneyplus - yes, I often find that HoodlessBrennan, despite their claimed support for small-caps, won't deal online in some shares but that I can get them no problem on iDealing.

mickeyskint - 03 Jun 2005 12:33 - 704 of 1117

From the other side.

axe79 - 2 Jun'05 - 19:38 - 11217 of 11238

I expect to be having a very good Xmas this year thanks to GMC and the gaming
industry.

The SP will play catch up sooner or later, the market can't hold it back for
ever. The growth rate of the industry is so rapid and as every week passes confirmation is read in the news and on the world markets.

Whilst the trading is quiet the Market Makers can move the price around to create some volume, and that is all that is happening at the moment. Unfortunately the people who are being effected most are the short term traders who are running for
cover and nursing losses.

The current Market Cap value is not fairly reflected in the SP at todays levels,
but for the astute buyer it is a bargain entry point for the future levels that
will be seen. Have been hearing whispers that things are afoot and expect some
'out of the blue' news anytime over the next couple of weeks.

Enjoy your evening

moneyplus - 03 Jun 2005 12:44 - 705 of 1117

cheers-thanks for that bit of encouragement!!

andyeds - 03 Jun 2005 15:01 - 706 of 1117

someone's picking these up at 12p and has been for the last few days...

online you can buy upto 375k at 12p....

a stake is being built quietly.....

why did EK top up at 12.5p when he could have looked at the chart, waited and picked them up cheaper thus lowering his average....

moneyplus - 03 Jun 2005 15:38 - 707 of 1117

I agree there are some chunky buys going through but no sp movement. news soon do you think? online gaming is the buzz of the moment after all.

mickeyskint - 03 Jun 2005 16:21 - 708 of 1117

EK thinks the principle of lowering averages is daft.
