Scott Wilson Group plc

AGM Statement and Interim Management Statement

At today's Annual General Meeting of Scott Wilson Group plc ('Scott Wilson' or 'the Group'), the international design and engineering consultancy for the built and natural environments, the Chairman, Geoff French, will make the following statement:

'Our diversity, both geographically and across market sectors, continues to serve us well during this time of reduced certainty. Demand in some sectors, especially road and rail both in the UK and internationally, has remained very strong and a number of major projects have been secured. Elsewhere, especially in areas related to private commercial development, conditions remain depressed with little sign of improvement in the short term.

In recent weeks the Group has won several engineering design packages on London's Crossrail project - Paddington Station, Farringdon Station, Pudding Mill Lane Portal and the Bulk Power Supply Design in addition to the extensive remodelling associated with the On Network Works for Network Rail. These commissions and a significant share of the planned South Island MTR Line in Hong Kong, can be attributed to the combination of our existing skills and those of Benaim, the metro and light rail specialist acquired last year. These rail projects require substantial input from staff in all sectors including from Buildings & Infrastructure which has been badly impacted by the economic situation in the UK. The Europe & Africa Region has been successful in winning significant road and rail projects in Poland, Serbia and Mozambique. As a result of these wins and many others both in the UK and across our expanding international operations, our order book once again stands at record levels and the pipeline of opportunities is consistent with our internal targets.

In light of these opportunities and our continuing projects, the Board remains confident of achieving Group performance in line with its expectations in the current financial year.

Internally the Group has transitioned to a new market facing management structure based on five core business sectors: Strategic Consultancy, Railways, Buildings & Infrastructure, Environment & Natural Resources and Roads. This new structure provides enhanced management clarity and makes Scott Wilson even more client focused bringing further efficiencies to the delivery of our services.

Scott Wilson will announce its interim results for the 26 weeks ending 1st November 2009 on 15th December 2009.'
