What should I make of a 3p special Div - I must be missing the point. Has anyone an explanation please

Dunno, sorry - but I saw Directors buying stock 150k (wow!)...and just recently sp has dropped off a cliff...very odd. anyone investing here know the background? Is it this special dividend, perhaps that Oakapples142 mentioned?

Yes hangon, POL have gone ex div (3p) so the sp has dropped to take account of that.

Thanks - I "think" I understand - If I receive well over 1k Div for taking a punt and showing an overall 25% profit then it might need further explanation !!!

Is this a good time to invest then in this company while they are at 3.50p ? or say well away any advice please?

Directors have been big buyers recently and there is a big activist investor Weiss who piled in a few weeks ago, at end of august the special dividend of 3p will hav been paid to investors, it will be interesting to see how much of the dividend is reinvested buying Polo shares, also the company announced plans for buy back, so that should support the share price from falling. This company owns a big chunck of Caledon a coal producer from Australian and 30% of GCM potentially a huge coal resourse in Bangladesh. The directors are also looking for new investments. Finally there is a big difference in NAV to share price.
For my money the share price will increase in value from here, I am long term investor.

The takeover of Caledon Res should be excepted by the end of 2010.Which should bring the price up to 7.22p which is the value from the take over.

A 25m buy went through just before the close hope they know what they are doing.
