Deltex (DEMG)

grajul - 19 Feb 2004 13:39

Hi all
pretty new to all this. I have pumped some into Deltex - looks like a strong product with good growth. Could be a steady gainer.
Does anyone else have this, and anyone have some research on it? Someone with more experience than me!
thanks in advance.

RNS,

Absolutely excellent read.
The reports compare all systems, mainly the PAC and Doppler with the Doppler coming out best.
The reports details are basically saying to the NHS trust Managers that, 'The Deltex CardioQ is a no brainer'. As there have been so many such positive reports 'WHAT PART OF THIS ARE THEY NOT GETTING'.
If this market review and buyers guide don't do the trick were the NHS is concerned then nothing will.

greekman - 23 Mar 2010 17:02 - 704 of 968

Down on the day.

Just shows how the market feels that the reports will have little effect at least in the short to medium term. I wonder how many copies are already sitting in waste paper bins, or languishing at the bottom of some job-worthies pending tray, whilst they read through the latest holiday brochure, car or fashion mag, or pondering how to spend some of the health budget on a new office suite.
Must get their priorities right.

Call me a miserable, moaning old git, who gets more cynical by the day.

OK not that old but the rest fits.

Todays RNS.

The Company also announces that it has today issued a total of 118,974 New Ordinary Shares to a certain adviser of the Company at a price of 13.00 pence per share.
Why can't we know who this adviser is, surely we as shareholders deserve to know. Whats the secret?

Peanut size bundles of shares bought today by 4 directors.

Slow, drip, drip, drip of erosion.

After a three months high of 15.70 we are back at 11.75, where we were beginning of January, and the same as last May.
It appears the sp is being steadily eroded, often by amounts as small as .25p.
We need something, otherwise this will continue to trickle along a base of 11 to 12p.
As often said by myself and many others, the technology is excellent, but it needs to sell.
My faith is quickly eroding, which I admit just does not compute with the steady but slow increase in sales.
Perhaps it is the grey, depressing morning that is getting me down, but I would like to see a good profit on this share, whilst I'm still young enough to enjoy it.
It is very sole destroying, when you see a company struggling when they have a product that you believe in, but it appears that few others feel the same.

greekman, the market is littered with such companies ie TAN, the plastic bag co, Timestrip (tickers escape me for the last two) and others, some will come through and prosper, others just soak up and lose investors money. As far as DEMG I think it will be a winner, progress is slow, but it is progress. Hopefully more and more patients will be using the cardio Q etc, and our patience will be rewarded. The drawback is it's money tied up which could be used elsewhere.

A 1,446,446 trade just gone through at mid price, and the sp never moved, even after the drop yesterday, coupled with what look like net sells over the last few weeks, so looks like a buy.

greekman - 31 Mar 2010 17:59 - 710 of 968

Deltex Medical Group plc has today been informed that, on 31 March 2010, Nigel J Keen, Chairman of Deltex Medical, transferred 1,446,446 ordinary shares of 2p each in the Company (the "Shares") at 11.625p each into the name of Nigel J Keen and Caroline J Keen, trustees of the Imperialise Pension Fund.

So it was a transfer, not a buy or a sell. So why did this trade go through as an ordinary market trade.

To say we are supposed to have more clarity in the markets, this was as clear as mud.

greekman - 01 Apr 2010 07:52 - 711 of 968

This is not a ramp for another company, but it gives an idea of what can be achieved, and I will state straight away that the following extract is NOT from anything directly, or perhaps even remotely to Deltex.
This is an extract from a pre result report for another company I am invested in which is turning things around by doing the following,.....*** has signed an agreement with an established contract sales organisation to assist with the recruitment and administration of a dedicated field sales force of Acute Care Specialists that will be transferred to *** in the future. Regional business directors are being recruited to oversee the sales representatives' activities and assist in building ***'s internal commercial sales capabilities. An agreement with a third-party logistics provider is in place, and US trade and distribution services are being established.
So two agreements, in sales and logistics.

This company (although a lot bigger than Deltex) is starting to see good results from partnering.

There are of course many other examples of companies partnering, with several of these being FTSE companies. If companies of this size, benefit from such deals, a company of Deltex size has little option but to take this route, if they find going it alone is not practical.

This has to be the way to go.

I am considering contacting Deltex re an update on the Hanover Freedom Of Information Request #687 Received 25/11/2009 by Email from Hanover Comms.

I wish to send this request, on behalf of myself and other investors (I may get a better chance of a reply if I mention on behalf of others). It may come to nothing but it might just mean they give Hanover a bit of a push.
So if other agree, please feel free to say so (or not) as the case may be.

Regards Greek

greekman - 13 Apr 2010 15:24 - 713 of 968

As I have had several requests via another site to send the aforementioned E-Mail I have done so.

My request and their reply (received within 2 working days) follows.

Dear Sir or Madam,

On behalf of several Deltex shareholders, could I request an update re the above FOI request, as it is now almost 6 months since said request was made.

According to Norfolk and Norwich University Hospitals, the request is 'Still being Processed'.

I am sure you are aware that under the FOI act, the recipient of such an enquiry has to reply within a reasonable time, we do not consider 6 months to be reasonable.

I presume Hanover Comms, is being suitably rewarded for submitting such requests.

I appreciate this information is possibly market sensitive, but the lack of a definitive reply, is effecting the SP.

Regards

David PATTENDEN.

Reply From Ewan Phillips CEO of Deltex,

As you appear to have surmised, we fired off a number of FOI requests some time ago via our PR agents. The purpose of this, at the time, was to explore whether we could build up some "insurance" in case there was a lack of response from the UK health system after the publication of the NTAC 'How to Why to' guide on Doppler guided fluid management.

Since the responses to NTAC's excellent work have been universally satisfactory with a number of related initiatives developing promisingly, we have not needed the insurance and have therefore instructed our PR agents specifically not to pursue this workstream as we no longer see advantage in it to us. We are however highly active with our public relations work - which is about far more than the odd splash in the papers: we have been running a variety of programmes for the last six years, the last four with Hanover who are excellent and very good value for money.
You are welcome to pass on the above to your correspondents.

Kind regards

Ewan

Ewan Phillips
Chief Executive - CEO
Deltex Medical Group plc

I would just like to add, that I thanked Mr Phillips and stated that I am sure anyone connected with Deltex are as frustrated as we are re the difficulty that the NHS managers have in making obvious decisions.
I feel we will have to just sit back patiently and wait.

Regards Pond.

I decided a few months ago, just to 'sit' on my holdings for about a year to 18 months, as I viewed this to be the time limit for Deltex to either make it, or fail.

On reading (between the lines) the e-mail from Mr Phillips, I decided to top up a bit, as there are several indications that things are bubbling under the surface,
IE....
'Since the responses have been universally'
'With a number of related initiatives developing promisingly'
'Not needed the insurance'

May of course be throwing more money into a bottomless pot, but I do have a feeling that we will be hearing a few positives in the near future, say 3 to 4 months, and by positives I mean contracts.

I never like to post such comments without at least trying to find more solid backing than a 'feeling', but as said, read between the lines and come to you own conclusions, which of course you will anyway.

Deltex is now even more the biggest holding I have. Still big risk = big reward (or failure of course).

Regards Greek.

greekman, many thanks for your recent efforts re DEMG, it does look promising, has done for years but the sp is still not performing (yet). I still hold DEMG and hopefully will live long enough to see some reward. The CEO was quick to defend/praise Hanover.

Hi George,

Agree re the quick to defend Hanover. I would like to know a bit more of how they are earning their fee.

Re todays RNS.

Not knocking the increased sales as that would be just stupid, but they were expected by all the indicators. Lets just wait for more details.
What I am looking to is the next lot of financials, with cost, profits, sales figures, hoping that momentum is increasing 'At a faster rate', proving or not whether the future prospects of the CardioQ have any real future.
I feel that the cutback in health spending, worldwide may work just as much in Deltex's favour as against, as I have read several reports over the last few months stating that Health Authorities must look at more value for money, and that they must deliver this value, something that was touched upon in todays RNS.
As we know Deltex can never be looked at as a defensive share, but with the financial climate as it is, it will in my opinion be a mix of those solid few defensive shares that earn a steady income and a few high risk shares that may just make the mega bucks that investments will need even more.
It is often said that investing in shares of those industries that we can not do without, IE we all have to eat, travel, take medication to name but three, have a continuing safeguard, but looking forward there may just come a time when the medical world looks on the CardioQ as something they just can't manage without. Once/if this gathers momentum, it will surely be a case of catch up as if the CardioQ becomes generally accepted. Patients as well as doctors/surgeons will be questioning, not why do we need it, but why haven't we got it.
Just look back to the days when heart monitors were a rarely, now it would look unusual to see a bed containing a patient who has suffered a heart attack or being observed for a heart related problem, without such a device being evident.
Heart monitors save money in the long term by early warning of problems, and the cost effective effect of earlier treatment.
Perhaps that analogy is stretching it a bit, but I think the only real hope for the CardioQ making it big, is for it to reach the stage where it becomes a must have bit of kit.

Still a few ifs out there, not with the technology which we know works and has been often proven value of cost, but in it's acceptance by those who decide where the money is spent.

Good news.

greekman - 06 May 2010 09:48 - 721 of 968

yep, sure is. An increase of double the amount of probes by this one hospital, over the next 6 months.
Great news. Has the snowball started to gather pace. I believe so.

greekman - 25 Jun 2010 16:08 - 722 of 968

The 4 none exec directors and the 1 exec have taken shares once again in lieu of salary.

Ewan Phillips has taken share options in place of salary increase, that on a rough work out look to be about a 5th less than if he had taken cash . So he has faith that the sp will increase by at 'least' a 5th from todays price by 2020!.

Heck if they only go up by that much in 10 more years, I will be long out.
So that don't tell us much does it.

We really do need something to happen.
