This got a mini writeup in Shares mag this week. The only down side that they could hint at was that the intended 50 new shops for 2006 was short of it's target, but otherwise the growth propects are considered to be excellent.
Finals due on the 20th Feb.

cynic - 16 Feb 2007 12:24 - 72 of 841

apologies to the owner/editor, but i rarely take primary notice of what Shares has to say ..... too many stinkers! .... however, it certainly helps to support a view and/or to give timely reminders of results due etc.

PGV4 - 20 Feb 2007 08:07 - 73 of 841

Great set of results, and 1st 7wks of 2007 up 14.3%.

cynic - 20 Feb 2007 08:08 - 74 of 841

plesae may i say, "Told you so; told you all to buy into this sector!" ...... now take a look at RTN!

HARRYCAT - 20 Feb 2007 09:08 - 75 of 841

And we all did buy in to this, so if it goes t*ts up then we know who's door to knock down! :o)

cynic - 20 Feb 2007 09:33 - 76 of 841

absolutely ..... though i am also considering a delivery service! ..... anyway, tits up it has patently not done!

but seriously, i really do recommend you take a good look at RTN ...... and then decide whether or not to buy in!

cynic - 21 Feb 2007 08:35 - 77 of 841

have just shown my faith by buying more (DOM) which makes me def o'weight in this stock .... sp bang on 25 dma and rsi is neutral to o'sold

cynic - 21 Feb 2007 10:03 - 78 of 841

hmm! .... not much impressed by the directors' sales, though they seem to have had little trouble in placing them

HARRYCAT - 21 Feb 2007 10:42 - 79 of 841

LONDON (AFX) - Domino's Pizza UK & IRL PLC said chief executive Stephen Hemsley has sold around 258,000 shares at 670 pence each yesterday, bringing down his stake in the company to 4.27 pct.

The company said chairman Colin Halpern has sold 350,000 shares at 670 pence each, lowering his stake to 11.70 pct.

It also said non-executive director Nigel Wray has sold about 491,000 at 670 pence, reducing his holding to 22.12 pct

Yesterday, Domino's Pizza reported a 28 pct rise in full-year pretax profit, boosted by a significant growth in sales."

Personally I don't think there is anything ominous in these director sales as they still hold a considerable stake in DOM.

cynic - 21 Feb 2007 11:11 - 80 of 841

on balance, I think you're right and as I commented, they clearly had no prob placing them ...... as above, bought some more this morning at 673, which was a little highewr than I might have got them a bit later ...... thought their trading statement was strong and still reckon they are a potential t/o target, though that would be entirely the wrong reason to buy.

i now look forward to RTN's results which are due within the next couple of weeks ..... good things expected there too

cynic - 21 Feb 2007 13:26 - 81 of 841

Afraid I have sure got DOM wrong, or at least for the moment ..... Though what Harry says is true, the market has clearly got pretty spooked by the volume being sold (about 1m) and the number of directors doing so ..... It is not impossible that they went to a single source, and as 1m shares equates to nearly 2% of the shares issued, that could then, with what may already be held, constitute a declarable interest.

HARRYCAT - 21 Feb 2007 14:16 - 82 of 841

Future prospects are good imo, so no immediate cause for alarm. The fundamentals are still good and with the new shops the revenue should continue to grow.
We just got our timing a little bit wrong, not knowing that the Directors were on a selling spree.
The sp has already recovered a little since the earlier fall to 655p.

mickeyskint - 21 Feb 2007 14:50 - 83 of 841

Tom Winnifrith on t1ps.com has given a "Take Profits" statment. He reckons it's run out of steam.

cynic - 22 Feb 2007 15:53 - 84 of 841

well TW called that wrong then didn't he!

Harry .... guess you can call your rotweiler off now .... lol! ..... sorry if initial timing was a bit haywire, but i(we) got ambushed by director sales

HARRYCAT - 22 Feb 2007 16:39 - 85 of 841

Confidence is high.
Am in this for 6-12 months so not too worried about the odd hiccup.

cynic - 22 Feb 2007 16:43 - 86 of 841

would love to know what happened to those 1m directors' shares though

cynic - 15 Mar 2007 08:55 - 87 of 841

perhaps time to start looking to buy this one again .... shall contemplate

HARRYCAT - 15 Mar 2007 09:02 - 88 of 841

WHAT!!! I can't remember you suggesting selling it! :o)

cynic - 15 Mar 2007 09:15 - 89 of 841

i took my profits here 2/3 weeks ago at 702 but have just bought back in at 652.5 ...... look quite strongly bid at the moment.

also took my profit at RTN about 3 days ago as a precaution against the markets falling out of bed .... this of course they duly did, though RTN has bucked the trend on the back of a strong buy note from Dresdner or similar.

Not quite a fair comparison, but DOM now looks better value than RTN

HARRYCAT - 22 Mar 2007 12:46 - 90 of 841

Cynic, if you are about, Shares Mag chartist has recommended a sell at 650p, stop loss 680p, target 540p, based on a bearish divergence on the chart with no support from the 50 DMA. The 200 DMA is currently at 540p & the theory is that he thinks the sp will now test this level. Any thoughts?
