have been watching pre-opening prices and though they are often unreliable in the extrme, when i logged on 20 mintes ago, VOG were +5 and have since ticked to +11 and now +20 ...... lets hope there is a decent ands sustained recovery ..... imo VOG was unfaily hammered though that of course applies to many shares

I cant remember posting before, but I feel motivated to write.

I've been pretty sick these last few months watching the share price go counter to expectations. It's not entirely tracking the market, there's disappointment in there and delays from VOG.

I gave George Donne a call this morning and let him know how badly pi's are feeling. I don't want to recount everything I discussed (one point in particular I promised not to) but basically he said everything is on track, with the proviso that VOG is a smaller exploration company that cant spud wells and prove up resources at breakneck speed. Nothin is a given until it is proven.

Regarding announcements of 104-bis and 106 he acknowledged that they will be made in June and VOG cannot afford to let us down in this respect.

103 core sample analyses will be available in August.

Regardign Kemerkol, there is more work to do but it is on schedule. No worries there.

Asset acquisition is on the agenda. Assets in the FSU are available and can be bought at good discount to NAV. I like the sound of that, seems to me they have a target or two.

Most importantly of all, he promised to take to the board my report of bad feeling from pi's and that we needed better news delivery. He reminded me that they too are shareholders and hurting.

I felt uncomfortable putting him through the inquisition but I did feel he was listening seriously.

I also feel we can very soon look forward to better prices.

Bless you all and have a good weekend!

f you look at the IEC 2 year chart, you will see that these early stage oilers are prone to significant price weakness whilst there is a lull in news flow and doubts creep in.

IEC virtually halved in early 2005, from near 600p down to 300p, before picking up again and motoring right up to 1000p+.

Oh ye of little faith. The gas is there in West Med. The gas will flow. The price will rise like a phoenix.

We will be richly rewarded for hanging on in here.

the fraccing didn't do iec any harm, or the placing and vog ceo is on record as saying $billion co by year end and I think we can all see he has never had to attend rampers anonymous. The signs are there imo.

soul traders - 10 Jun 2006 15:26 - 721 of 2511

Good comments, DThomson - liked the bit about "rampers anonymous" !

You're dead right about the way such companies' share prices evolve, IMO. Northern Petroleum is another good example - the SP got slaughtered over last summer after a disappointment over two wells in the UK, but just a short while later they got onto a real winner in Holland and have flown since. I held throughout based on portfolio strength and see it the same way with VOG (even if I did cut my stake a little due to market forces, but the method in my madness will yet be proved). Right now the VOG SP should be a buying signal for anyone regretting they didn't get in quickly enough the first time it shot up. IMVHO.

I agree the $billion co bit as well (and would even see a billion -sterling at some point); not sure about year end, though, as the First World War was going to be over by Christmas, four times!

Patience and holding one's nerve are all that's needed.

cynic - 10 Jun 2006 16:22 - 722 of 2511

By chance I have talked to several people who are in the investment industry and every single one has said that they think VOG has a great future..... Doesn't mean they are right, but it is good to hear the comfort, though it would better still to have new update ...... which I belive is imminent

lizard - 10 Jun 2006 16:31 - 723 of 2511

doubling up next week on a t25 with a view to holding if in the money?.

cynic - 10 Jun 2006 19:07 - 724 of 2511

If that is meant to be a Q, then no I shall not be buying further as i have enough ..... However, provided the markets do not collapse again following Dow's fall on Friday through 10940, then you could take more risky gambles for there should indeed be an announcement shortly, if not within a day or two.

candolim - 11 Jun 2006 14:55 - 725 of 2511

I believe there is a great future in vog. I must admit |I am disappointed with the delay of the announcement which should be out over the next day or so. Provided the results from the tests are good. Then I would expect there to be a good increase in the share price. So I think we all have to be patient at the moment.

I have always felt quite comfortable holding 40,000 shares in this company, even though the have dropped quite a lot over the past few weeks, I feel sure we should have some luck soon in the near future. Good luck from Janet in Nottingham.

WOODIE - 12 Jun 2006 09:58 - 726 of 2511

another down day, looks weak on the charts the way it went straight through support at 1.50 needs a bounce to repair damage already done.

queen - 12 Jun 2006 09:59 - 727 of 2511

I can fully understand the point about SP not doing much because of lack of news etc, but I dont see how that justifies such a big drop...down 7% already today??

Strawbs - 12 Jun 2006 10:04 - 728 of 2511

I suspect it's activity on the order book pushing the price down again. I would continue to avoid for now. Someone clearly wants to sell and that will hold the price down for the time being. Probably worth holding if you are waiting for the latest update, but certainly not worth buying until some stability returns. I suspect the price will get a lift with a good RNS, but in the current bear trend I doubt that the rise will be sustained or long lived. IMO.

cynic - 12 Jun 2006 10:14 - 729 of 2511

SP this morning is certainly a bit scary and hairy (unlike me!) but fall seems to be on very small volume indeed, though would have been much happier to see sp charging ahead on same.

Strawbs - 12 Jun 2006 10:19 - 730 of 2511

Cynic,

Off topic: Have read your book recommendation of a few weeks back (Mark Shipman). Interesting read, and I guess a little "Slater'ish" in terms of crowd following principles. Thanks for the recommendation. Pretty good read.

cynic - 12 Jun 2006 10:50 - 731 of 2511

Interesting isn't it ...... I don't agree with him 100%, though he hedges his bets so to speak by taking up to a 10 year view! ..... However, he is certainly right to say that dealing in the commodities themselves, one avoids the vagaries of Shar X being a market fave or otherwise, for either good reason or bad.

Tried to log into his site a few weeks back, but could not get the required "acknowldegment", but will try again.

Strawbs - 12 Jun 2006 10:59 - 732 of 2511

I'd agree, in that I don't agree with 100% of what he says, but certainly the first part of the book is very much in line with my own stratergies of identifying early trends, backing them, and most importantly sticking to an exit plan. Not sure if I'll become a commodities buyer just yet, but interesting all the same.

lizard - 12 Jun 2006 11:09 - 733 of 2511

we need a 65% rally to get it back to previous highs !- what a battering?.

skyhigh - 12 Jun 2006 11:11 - 734 of 2511

yeh.. it's beyond a joke! very dispiriting!

cynic - 12 Jun 2006 11:31 - 735 of 2511

I hate the colour of blood too, but get a small amount of comfort that the fall is not on any great volume ...... currently about 800k against a daily average of 2.25m
