I must admit I was a bit concerned about the share price direction this morning.
At least the way forward is now clearer.

Why should a share consolidation, if it ever happens, have a bad effect on the share price ?

I agree with MRSI, and think it is on its way up -

Did you eat those fish and chips ? Is it too late to take them back to the chip shop ? Perhaps you need a bit more salt ?

Do not try it to hard, the nickname maybe tells a lot about you.

I do not go around posting like others on multiple places, but the last ones I have lately for the last 3 to four month have been pretty good

Maybe you problem, is you are expanding a bit too far an failling on most, like this morning in SEY.

What was holding the price at SEY was the debt problem, once this is sorted then share price can go places provided the oil price holds.

In the mean time the share will consolidate till the placing and offer is over.

"Cynical Manipulation"
a cynic is defined as "one who denies the sincerity of others."

cynic - 14 Aug 2009 12:13 - 7202 of 7811

i don't like SEY and have not touched it
much happier and safer with the likes of GKP and HOIL which are "real" companies - or at least the latter certainly is, and the former trying hard to be one with a decent find already under its belt

Master RSI - 14 Aug 2009 13:26 - 7203 of 7811

re - much happier and safer

YES safer, but you do not get the returns I have in SEY, for the last 3 month.

You are forgetting, I am here to make money, better than the bank account ( safe )

cynic - 14 Aug 2009 14:02 - 7204 of 7811

bully for you old son!
i too am making money and, unlike most, actually banking a lot of the profits
have learnt (most of the time) that greed is the route to perdition

Well with 500 billion shares : I think it's on a par with Zimbabwean currency.

Yep Mugabe would be proud...I bet Brown and Darling (always reminds me of Blackadder that name) will be jealous as hell.....all that fund raising and Labour not getting anything.....tut tut...

thought the numbers were very unexciting to say the least, so cut and took a smallish loss

cynic - 14 Aug 2009 15:55 - 7208 of 7811

and then bought back at just under 29 on 8th august, so perfectly happy
in fact, i'm not sure i didn't get in/out in between too, but that may have been another small oilie

if you have nothing better to do, if you look back perhaps 2 years, i may even bought and lost money on SEY

Today this is up.....I cannot see this lasting....

Master RSI - 14 Aug 2009 16:00 - 7210 of 7811

I already knew you answer, I am too clever for you...........that is because I put the
Patels picks.

YOUR problem ......... Unsure of what you do in business and in your life most likely.

cynic - 14 Aug 2009 16:25 - 7211 of 7811

i have no idea what you are talking about, but am sure someone will find it rivetting

of course you have still not enlightened us all how, if you are so amazingly clever, with nary a duff call, that you have not retired to monaco or similar ...... or are you not really that clever after all, but merely like the rest of us, and make some good calls and quite a lot of bad ones too

cynic - 17 Aug 2009 08:15 - 7212 of 7811

rf .... so far you and i are wrong as sp still performing strongly .... good luck to all those brave enough have, but don't be afraid to bank profits

I think that this is the initial reaction to debt solving....will this last ?....with 500 billion shares in issue...there has to be a slide, apart from the drilling in Kurdistan starting in the fourth quarter this company is not doing anything, I'd be interested in buying some shares at 2 or 2.25p....around that mark not 3.5p....

Master RSI - 17 Aug 2009 09:29 - 7214 of 7811

that is the price that investors are prepared to pay at the moment, your price is another thing.

To come down to the level of before, maybe will be too much to expect, now that the debt seem to be solved once the placing is in place.

But maybe in a bad day, you could get a better price than the one now. 3.60p

Westmount Energy takes Sterling stake

Westmount Energy has increased its investement in Sterling Energy, subscribing to 42,446,786m new shares in the company's recently announced placing at 1.3p.

Chairman Mervyn Bradlow said the investment, amounting to around 0.55m represented 'an excellent use for our cash resources'.

'We believe that the substantial amount of cash being raised by Sterling and the introduction of a new major shareholder whose management have a proven track record in the oil industry will be of great benefit to Sterling.'

1.3p is not 3.3p.

Westmount averaging down.

What's Hot (sister web site of T1ps .com) are tipping this one to recover.....I think this has to pull back because of the 1.3p placing which is at less than half the current sp and they expect investors and like to buy at 3.5p !?......that's taking the piss as far as I'm concerned what with 500 billion shares in issue....not all the debt sorted out...this is a risky one and there is the possibility of nothing being discovered on their license and should that be the case the company would be valued at peanuts....so a drop in the sp is vital to attract a little punt from myself.

Master RSI - 17 Aug 2009 22:52 - 7219 of 7811

re - peanuts

The rest of Investors do not like you idea, mainly because most likely you would buy then peanuts of shares.

Just be patien and maybe you will be able to buy at a better price that is all, not the price you want.
