What is this about cleaning loos? Wasn't that Henry V's job "Once more unto the bleach!"

jeffmack - 30 Sep 2005 19:08 - 7350 of 24230

Just booked a week in Madeira for November. Anyone been?

daves dazzlers - 30 Sep 2005 20:09 - 7351 of 24230

Cakes not bad.

stockbunny - 30 Sep 2005 20:35 - 7352 of 24230

Madeira - yes I've been there about 3 years ago - we loved it
stayed at the Crown Plaza, loads of facilities for the kids and Funchal
only 10 minutes walk away roughly. There's a beauiful gardens area leading to the
harbour/port area of Funchal where the cruise ships dock, lovely place.

The landing is a bit hairy though,
its built on re-claimed land the only way they could get flat land so you
approach over the sea sort of bear right and land whilst applying the anchors
as fas a possible before falling off the end into the sea! Great fun!

Not good news if you and yours want beaches as there aren't any, but
most hotels have at least 1 pool. We went in August, so don't know about
the weather this time of year but with where it's located can't be bad I
wouldn't have thought.

stockbunny - 30 Sep 2005 20:36 - 7353 of 24230

Well that's it for me until monday, had to check stockwatch as I missed
checking it for the majority of the afternoon.
Have a great weekend and be good!
:>)

Socrates - 30 Sep 2005 20:47 - 7354 of 24230

I've never been to Madeira, drunk it a few times, very nice. My brother went there, said the landing was no problem to any reasonable stunt pilot.

optomistic - 30 Sep 2005 20:55 - 7355 of 24230

Landing no problem Socs as you know you will always hit the ground.
Nice to see a bit of activity this time of evening.

optomistic - 30 Sep 2005 21:29 - 7356 of 24230

Activity over, night 'all'

jeffmack - 30 Sep 2005 21:49 - 7357 of 24230

chocolat - 30 Sep 2005 23:14 - 7358 of 24230

Getting there by boat was fun too :)

Time to hit that curvy hammock - it's been a while.

Socrates - 01 Oct 2005 07:51 - 7359 of 24230

Good morning all, slept well in the hammock last night. Had some wonderful dreams, at least I think they were dreams.

Spaceman - 01 Oct 2005 10:10 - 7360 of 24230

Morning Socs, hope you left the hammock nice and tidy.

Nice day here in Hastings sunny and bright. I have the delights of doing my VAT return today, should have been in yesterday !

Socrates - 01 Oct 2005 10:49 - 7361 of 24230

Spaceman
You must be looking at a different hammock, unless Choccy has tidied it up.

VAT return? Do I detect a fine coming on? What a way to spend a weekend, I'm off out to spend some energy and a little dosh.

Spaceman - 01 Oct 2005 14:26 - 7362 of 24230

Soc, I have found that a weeks delay does not normally cause any problem, over a week and you get a yellow warning letter, more than one of them in a year and you go to the next stage, not sure what that is though. I have had several yellow letters.
