Xcite Energy - North Sea Heavy Oil (XEL)

Proselenes - 22 Oct 2009 11:14

.

required field - 26 Nov 2010 11:00 - 755 of 3002

20p up now.....must be very over-frisky...

Proselenes - 26 Nov 2010 11:07 - 756 of 3002

With flow test due to start Sun or Mon this will be shorters closing. They cannot afford to have shorts on if someone from the rig or tanker "leaks" that the first day she flowed at 2000 barrels or something.

They have to close today and thats why the buying pressure is on.

So much potential for flow leaks next week that shorts will have to be closed of by end of play today.

required field - 26 Nov 2010 11:20 - 757 of 3002

I would have thought that there would not be any shorts on at all....must be bonkers, or not following the charts at all.

markymar - 26 Nov 2010 11:24 - 758 of 3002

Pro you have played a blinder here so far and called it correct, can you sprinkle your magic dust over Desire as well.I guess my coal dust aint working.

cynic - 26 Nov 2010 11:26 - 759 of 3002

currently, volume is low (<1m) but presuambly MMs are short of stock and hence the disproportionate rise ...... my usual caveat remains on the table, and it was good to see (i thought anyway) that wily bird (old cock?)TFC concurred

Proselenes - 26 Nov 2010 11:36 - 760 of 3002

marky, DES will be drilling through the target zones Sunday/Monday - I expect wild excitement there from Monday onwards - dust sprinkle over the weekend.

TheFrenchConnection - 26 Nov 2010 11:40 - 761 of 3002

xel currently trading up 27p ......Have you have been feeding those frisky lemmings your viagra again Cynners ....?..{ juste teasing }.............l'oriflamme is in play !

required field - 26 Nov 2010 11:42 - 762 of 3002

Could easily hit 320p at a guess by monday......most people expect a good result....

markymar - 26 Nov 2010 12:08 - 763 of 3002

Pro

I am a lot more relaxed on this drill than any other, I have not been told of any problems so far and very hopeful of a good oil find.

I will be biting at the bit on Wednesday as I am leaving my mine and going to have a look down another one in Scotland for a few days so will be blind and exposed so I hope your magic dust works good luck

cynic - 26 Nov 2010 12:10 - 764 of 3002

i know what "l'oriflamme" is/was (no 1/4 given in battle) but what is its relevance here?

TheFrenchConnection - 26 Nov 2010 14:03 - 765 of 3002

relavence being that i have decided to see this battle through to the bitter end as opposed to grabbing as much booty and plunder as i can and leaving the battle whilst still in progress ....in other words awaiting the well results and going for bust rather than playing the %'S and fleeing ....and your good self Cynners . You still "in" or sold up on todays nice rise ?

cynic - 26 Nov 2010 14:14 - 766 of 3002

i hope you don't run into the same gory end as your compatriots at Agincourt then, for i think that was last time it was flown - by "your" King Louis too!

as for me, i sold a few this morning for a modest profit but still hold more than i did 7/10 days ago ..... i may sell some more later this afternoon, but assuredly not all as i think a positive result is odds-on

ptholden - 26 Nov 2010 14:20 - 767 of 3002

Opened a S/B position here yesterday, awful spread, but then to be expected. Considering switching to CFDs for shares rather than S/Bs which offer DMA, however, commision, interest on long positions and CGT don't really appeal.

cynic - 26 Nov 2010 14:29 - 768 of 3002

you are already paying commission+ via the spread on your s/b ..... CFD trading may depend on your tax position and/or profits ..... i can't remember what the CGT allowance is, but it's at least 6k and may now even be as much as 10k

ptholden - 26 Nov 2010 14:34 - 769 of 3002

True Ricardo, hence the awful spread, think I'll have to dust off my CFD account, compare spreads (not that that is especially relevant with DMA) and work out the maths!

required field - 26 Nov 2010 14:50 - 770 of 3002

Looks like a lot of people in this.....I know that I will take a knock if it does not come right but you have to say it looks very, very promising...

cynic - 26 Nov 2010 14:51 - 771 of 3002

xel is not the best example as the CFD spread is as between MMs, albeit that there are 10 of them .... currently it's 272/274 but it can be as wide as 5/6p or as narrow as 0.5p

Balerboy - 26 Nov 2010 15:11 - 772 of 3002

9 grand cgt last I was told by accountant, joint accounts = 18000

ptholden - 26 Nov 2010 15:32 - 773 of 3002

The beauty of DMA Ricardo, get a buy order filled on the Bid and you're quids in :-) No spread to worry about. Sell it back to the market on the Offer and even more quids in!

cynic - 26 Nov 2010 15:34 - 774 of 3002

apart from MM stocks where you are stuck with their price, on a "proper" stock and dealing on L2, you can set your price and move it as you choose
