FRANCESCA BERLIN DEBUT SINGLE COMPETITION (FRAN)

Howard0181 - 05 Jul 2006 15:19

My daughter Francesca Berlin has her debut single released on 7th August 2006. Moon Records UK are running a competition (with the approval of MoneyAM) in which you have to predict at what number "Colours Faded" will be in the charts for the week ending 13th August 2006. The Official Charts for the week are announced on 13th August. "Colours Faded" is a 2 track single and the full charts are numbers 1 - 200. As there could be lots of entries the tie breaker is what number will "Colours Faded" be in the Download Charts (1 - 100).

Please enter by just stating say 45 (38) (45 being for Singles Charts and 38 being for Download Charts) Its easy and its a bit of fun. First prize is 250.00 of which 125.00 is sent on the winners behalf to the Myfanwy Townsend Melanoma Research Fund. The Winner gets the other 125.00 plus a signed copy of "Colours Faded". MoneyAm are offering a years free subscription to Shares Magazine including a years Premier MoneyAM access which is worth 123.00 to the top three entries. The second and third closest enntries will also recieve a signed copy of "Colours Faded".

My plan is to get "Colours Faded" in the charts by selling via by pre-ordering. We have the ability, via our on-line distributor, to sell via pre-orders and all of these sales will count towards our chart position in week one. If we can sell 3,500 at one week prior to release date we will have a major story to take the media.

Its almost impossible to get a record label deal in UK and so I formed my own record label (Moon Records UK) for the purpose of self release of Francesca's music. The song is titled "Colours Faded" and is about Eva Cassidy. We are working hard to get "Colours Faded" in the Top 40 with no record plugger, no record contract, no video, no national distribution, no radio play and no national press coverage. Its sounds impossible but with your help and the help of our existing fan base it could happen.

The on-line price is 77p per track. There are 3 alternate versions also for sale. If you buy all 4 the cost is 3.08 and all of the 4 sales will count to the charts. The B side is Stronger and that's also 77p.

To buy "Colours Faded" 2 Track Single please click Buy Colours Faded (2 Track Single)

To buy the 3 alternate versions of "Colours Faded" (acoustic, rhodes mix and original demo) please click Buy Colours Faded (Alternate Versions)

Thanks for your support. As with everyone its much appreciated. The competition is just a bit of fun and one person will be lucky and of course a decent charity will get 125.00.

aldwickk - 01 Aug 2006 17:47 - 80 of 189

Howard,

Mike Quinn gave the single a good plug, and even gave you a mention.

Howard0181 - 01 Aug 2006 18:20 - 81 of 189

Thanks so much for that. It was great. I had a chat with Mike yesterday. Very helpful.

STORMCALLER - 02 Aug 2006 00:01 - 82 of 189

Being one of life's natural sweet innocents I wouldn't know anything about "market manipulation" etc....but this is the first time I have received a 'phone-call instructing me to read a thread and "do the decent thing"...LOL
Naturally I was pleased to do so, and good luck to you both (even the not-pretty one..:-)) )
Do not wish to add to the pressure so my entry is 1 (2)....should I win please ensure all monies go to the charity

Regards and best wishes

Jusr reading through the missed posts and note splat wins the "what is the OED?" competition. ;-)))

OK, when do we know the final numbers, Howard? I'm sure this should really do quite well. Very nice to see you plugging away at it constantly. ;-)

Howard0181 - 02 Aug 2006 07:43 - 84 of 189

Stormcaller

Thanks for the offer of donating your winnings to the charity. Whilst its much appreciated the charity are more than happy with the 125 and we would all like whoever wins to take the other 125 on offer and have a nice evening out. To me thats the spirit of the competition. This is the second competition we have run and the other one the charity got the 250.

I would again make the point about this charity in that its just not about raising money. Its also about raising awareness of Melanoma.

Thanks again for your kind offer.

Howard0181 - 02 Aug 2006 07:48 - 85 of 189

Big Al

Its hard work. We are competing with the majors who have budgets on singles for well known acts in the region of 150,000 per single.

However, its going ok. I had a call from a reporter with the Daily Mail yesterday and she wants to run the story. However, her editor needs to see firm sales figures from us early next week. There are charts every day so the record labels can see how they are doing.

There are 4 versions of Colours Faded available via our website. It wont take much to get the sales higher.

http://www.francescaberlin.co.uk (just click Buy Colours Faded")

Thanks again for everyones support on this.

Thanks. You have pre-ordered. The release date is 7th August so on that day go back to the same page and click Downloads. You will then be able to download to your computer. You can do that 3 times. Just remember your password and enter your email address.

If there is any problem please email me at moonrecordsuk@aol.com I will either answer your query or phone you.

You can burn to a disk or transfer to an MP3 player or your iPod.

Sue 42 - 02 Aug 2006 08:15 - 88 of 189

Oh what a fool I am!!

I am not going to be around until 19th August (working) I will look forward to getting it then

Apologies for being a wazzock.

Howard0181 - 02 Aug 2006 08:18 - 89 of 189

Sue

Sorry to read about your father. I like many people had little knowledge of Melanoma until last 5 years.

http://www.melanoma-fund.co.uk/

This is the charity we are working with. The guy who runs it is an amazing man. His wife died of Melanoma and he has now devoted his life to raising awareness and money for his charity.

Next year he starts his 7 - 7 - 70 charity. Thats 7 challenges in 7 continents at the age of 70. When you get a moment read about this charity and what he has done and what he is doing on his above website.
