DYOR - - - - - - - - - Biom Technologies mid-July 2010 AIM
This is the new resting place for Stanelco, the wonder producer of starch-based food-trays...only they didn't catch on.Over the last 10 years to 2010 the 0.1p shares traded abour 2.5p then shot up to 24p during 2005 with promise of Tray-Trials I understand. Within a year or so, they fell to new depths and finished at 0.2p Of course they were full-list then and some were held in ISA's hoping there would be a big profit...only now these are distressed sales as the Company slunk off to AIM, presumably "...to provide better shareholder-value"
Perhaps someone closer to the Co. can explain why the new name is Biome
....rhymes with Home. Often it is done to remove the previous sp-history.
Could it be..so new investors can bask in ignorance, etc. I'm not aware of any "change" in fortune for SEO, rather the reverse.
In my limited experience, the longer the name of a company the longer you have to wait for any return...Huh . . . . . .
. SEO had been a terrible investment.
DYOR.
Can Biome be any worse...?
EDIT ( 24April2017)- "just woken up" -me not BIOME - sp is 154, but I note about June 2013 there was what looks like a CONsolidation . . do I recall many LT investors were sold-short?... as I believe the (new share) numbers were terrible! . . . Anyone?

Someone on a competitors thread has posted that patience is needed and that the trouble with some people is that 'They just can't wait'.
I just had to reply with the following.
Patience they say is a virtue. If so I must be one of the most virtuous people on the planet.
When I first bought into this company, admittedly when it went by the name of Stanelco, I was much younger, had far more hair and at least 3 more teeth. My knees did not creak so much and I could still see without glasses.
So please don't say, 'Some people just can't wait'.
If I have to wait much longer, I may as well take what money I have left in Biome and put it into a funeral plan, before it's too late.
Patience be B******d.
Greek.

As I said in an ealier thread about stanelco which we know it as Biome - held since 2005 and been absolutely crap - the way they went down years ago and in the short time there was no real chance of getting out without loosing a lot of money, which us long term investors are doing - it was all supposed to be good then pow!!!!!!!!! Thought Biome might have gone bust but obviously they are still hanging in there. Hope we live to see them return and some good news HA!

said it before and shall say it again .... i've learnt from bitter experience that 95% of the time it is better to bit the bullet with the first hit than to hang on in hope of recovery

Well cynic your quite correct, if I had had the balls (the last time I looked I am a female so I haven't got any) I should have got out, but like you, I have had to learn the hard way. The dam things went so quickly there wasn't time if I remember to get out.
As for flowers on my grave, I don't want any, prefer them whilst I am here and not dead. Hope we laugh at this one day.

Well done on your profits with Biome, not all of us are as clever as you. The likes of us may laugh at it one day as one has to have a sense of humour!!!!!!!!! If they go then so be it, a little less to spend on me and less for the ones waiting for their inheritance HAHA!! Even less to spend on the bio-degradable flowers which I don't want. Have a nice evening and hope you had a good profit.

Dir bought recently (Oct?)12k-worth = hardly a vote of confidence, and the sp rumbles on . 2011 slight rise due to "NoNews" being the best thing for this outfit and he's "made" 20k - must be spitting nails, he'd not invested all his savings...
Well, Dirs "now" is the time to move the Company, so we can all benefit from the money you and the other laggards are paid. Sales, that's what's needed.
BTW What are you doing with twenty hundred tons of potato-peelings arriving next week (Oh, didn't you know, must give that Secretary a good dressing-down)....Name-changes nearly always spell DIS-S-A-T-R_E (rearrange the letters). It's a cheap-cut way of avoiding their past mistakes....yet there they are...at the back...
Nasty business spending our money - for what?

3M, I don't regard myself as being clever, just happened to note the rise in sp and sold at the right time. My profit? 76! Not a life changing moment hey! However, I still hold 1.6m of free shares (may sound a lot of dosh, but it aint). Why am I still hanging on to the hope that some day my 1.6m may be worth a hell of a lot of money?..........................
dunno really!
BIOM still have a reasonably solid background business which is not going to make us millionaires overnight but they should still make a decent profit if run properly. Hmmmm!
