Rockhopper was established in 2004 with a strategy to invest in and undertake an offshore oil exploration programme in the North Falkland Basin. It was floated on AIM in August 2005. Rockhopper was the first company to make a commercial oil discovery in the Falklands. Today Rockhopper is the largest acreage holder in the North Falkland Basin, with interests in the Greater Mediterranean region.

Still have some...but at a loss...staying put on that one....bad luck for me the 2nd rns...never have thought that it would hit these levels...

rf RKH has 174m shares issued which means their market cap is only 250m looks pretty cheap if their discovery is worth 1billion.

except that is predicated on a guesstimated valuation

This is ridiculous....there is a big difference between GKP and RKP....one had big flows the other just says well it's there but we'll come back later...

Yes...good result...but no testing...I thought that was that...on to the next well...and that it would be weeks before another rns would be issued and had visions of the sp retreating to 70 or 80p...and that's double what it was....to make matters worse AFR and a lot of others are down....damn...I better go and have a bath and drown the plastic duck...

and wall street is "tout sur le magasin" = dog french for all over the shop! .... it had been down about 200 at 10239, but is now back up to 10450, but zipping all over the place

yes traders love volatilty.

i posted that here more to highlight that this mega-volatility is affecting markets in general ...... once things settle down again, and there are several reasons why that might happen quite quickly, then some of the stocks that have been slammed for no good reason, will have a chance to recover

cynic agree there are some bargains available at the moment.

there will have been a huge amount of forced closing ..... RKH/DES have certainly saved my bacon these last couple of days

I'm moaning but I bet that some people sold out at 40p or so.....I'm gutted but how do you describe what they must feel ?....these markets are crazy....

I still can't quite grasp why this shot up this afternoon....we know they have discovered a reservoir...but it has to be above 50 million barrels of oil.....what do they do ? guess ?...

i too wish i had prescience, but sp could easily have collapsed this morning - as it nearly did ..... so for sure i sold a big slab far far too cheaply, but it was still a decent profit ..... and yes, first thing i had 3x as many as i now hold even now, but complaining about being prudent is preposterous
