tobyboy - 05 Jun 2007 16:10

anything under 7 cheap cheap cheap. good div. just paid. chart looks sick

hlyeo98 - 03 Nov 2008 13:54 - 77 of 974

Today ain't the crucial fall yet.

polska - 10 Nov 2008 11:56 - 78 of 974

wheres sub 200p hyleo??

tabasco - 10 Nov 2008 13:04 - 79 of 974

I think hlyeo was a little optimistic thinking he could purchase sub 2..I am privy to a stores weekly figuresyou are a long way out mate.just purchased max..shares on wifes share save schemes.20% discounted on close of todays price locked in for 3-5 years + bonus.along with thousands of other staffthats a lot of stock!.. retail confidence knocking SP more than store performances.

Gausie - 10 Nov 2008 13:43 - 80 of 974

see Supermum's analysis in todays traders' thread.

I note also that shares rag calls it as a short.

Me? mildly long with a tight stop.

tabasco - 10 Nov 2008 13:58 - 81 of 974

Huge % rise last weekprofit taking for sure this week.but a good stock to hold for the future 2 years +

Dil - 10 Nov 2008 14:08 - 82 of 974

Put these in my "dog" portfolio on 31.10.08 along with LGEN , BT.A and VOD based on my estimate of divi for coming year.

Sunday mail added 3 of them to their "dog" portfolio yesterday I think , these being one of them.

Tabby , shares purchased via the share purchase scheme are tiny in the overall scheme of things.

tabasco - 10 Nov 2008 14:20 - 83 of 974

Dilthere are a good few staff purchased maximum shares todayprevious option prices on the sharesave were so high compared to SP.they were all cashed in.there are an unbelievable amount of staff on max. today.

Gausie - 13 Nov 2008 08:15 - 84 of 974

I'm out

tabasco - 13 Nov 2008 13:05 - 85 of 974

Sorry to hear you are out Gausie 2-26 I see at presentI wonder if that is going to be a good call?.lets make a note of it anyway.

Gausie - 13 Nov 2008 15:27 - 86 of 974

tabby I don't know what 2.26 has to do with anything.

I got out at 234 and I dont give a toss where it goes from here - I'm out for a small profit and happy.

I reckon 2.40 will prove resistance for a while - I may go short with a tight stop if it pops its head above that level.

cynic - 13 Nov 2008 15:38 - 87 of 974

i reckon WPP is one of the safest short bets even though sp is close to its low ..... advertising, especially of the traditional sort, is guaranteed to have a really rough time in any downturn, let alone something as scary as the present horror story

Gausie - 13 Nov 2008 16:13 - 88 of 974

Cynic - agreed, however it's difficult to set a stop and a target - and so difficult to plan the trade. How have you addressed it?

cynic - 13 Nov 2008 16:25 - 89 of 974

i use CFDs, so not difficult ..... WOS is probably still worth a short too

Gausie - 13 Nov 2008 16:26 - 90 of 974

Also use cfds - what difference does that make? Still need to plan the trade then trade the plan!

cynic - 13 Nov 2008 16:36 - 91 of 974

thought for the day on the WPP thread!

mitzy - 18 Nov 2008 09:06 - 92 of 974

I am convinced they are heading to 170p.

cynic - 18 Nov 2008 10:13 - 93 of 974

you could easily be right, especially once/if 200 is broken ..... unless the "fiscal stimulus" is so exciting that there is a sudden reversal ...... (temporary) cut in VAT might have that effect

halifax - 18 Nov 2008 16:05 - 94 of 974

With a market cap of 3.2billion what are the chances of a bid after Christmas?

cynic - 18 Nov 2008 16:23 - 95 of 974

why should there be?

halifax - 18 Nov 2008 16:34 - 96 of 974

cynic we have been here before with MKS sp, with all the promised tax cuts and easier money supply coming over the horizon there are plenty of cash rich predators sitting on the sidelines ready to pounce, even Phil Green might be tempted again but at this moment 3.5 might do it rather than his last offer of 4.
