Rockhopper was established in 2004 with a strategy to invest in and undertake an offshore oil exploration programme in the North Falkland Basin. It was floated on AIM in August 2005. Rockhopper was the first company to make a commercial oil discovery in the Falklands. Today Rockhopper is the largest acreage holder in the North Falkland Basin, with interests in the Greater Mediterranean region.

This is ridiculous....there is a big difference between GKP and RKP....one had big flows the other just says well it's there but we'll come back later...

Well done those who had the faith to remain in...I'll just have to wait for some retreat of some kind and ponder if it's worth another punt.

rf BLT will know whether its there or not, cynic has already raised the question of misleading RNS's do the directors wish to end up in court? It is interesting that the actual drilling time taken to make this discovery was far shorter than originally forecast as all seems to have been more straightforward than DES''s Liz well.

Yes...good result...but no testing...I thought that was that...on to the next well...and that it would be weeks before another rns would be issued and had visions of the sp retreating to 70 or 80p...and that's double what it was....to make matters worse AFR and a lot of others are down....damn...I better go and have a bath and drown the plastic duck...

i posted that here more to highlight that this mega-volatility is affecting markets in general ...... once things settle down again, and there are several reasons why that might happen quite quickly, then some of the stocks that have been slammed for no good reason, will have a chance to recover

I still can't quite grasp why this shot up this afternoon....we know they have discovered a reservoir...but it has to be above 50 million barrels of oil.....what do they do ? guess ?...

i too wish i had prescience, but sp could easily have collapsed this morning - as it nearly did ..... so for sure i sold a big slab far far too cheaply, but it was still a decent profit ..... and yes, first thing i had 3x as many as i now hold even now, but complaining about being prudent is preposterous

required field ...They can't test now because FOGL are waiting for the Rig and the test equipment will take a while before it gets to the Falklands...it's a big piece of kit.
