With video search set to be the next big growth area BLNX have the software the likes of Microsoft, Google and NewsCorp would love to have.

In fact BLNX have done deals with most of these, the most recent being the UtargetFox deal which has been reported in the USA but not RNS'd in the UK.

Alexa rankings confirm the continued growth in usage as its viral effect spreads:-

The ITN RNS confirms blnx is the best in the market and is growing fast:-

Leading News Organization ITN Extends Advertising Deal with blinkx Based on Proven Campaign Success

blinkx Selected to Power Advertising across ITN Website and Syndication Partner Sites

SAN FRANCISCO, CALIF. - July 2, 2008 - blinkx, the world's largest and most advanced video search engine, today announced that it has won an extension contract that will augment the scope of its advertising partnership with ITN, one of the world's leading news and multimedia content companies. Under the terms of the new agreement, ITN will use AdHoc, blinkx's patented contextual advertising platform for online TV and video, to serve advertisements on the ITN website and its syndication partner sites, including Bebo.

Through AdHoc, ITN has already been effectively monetizing its premium news content on the blinkx.com network for over six months. During this time, ITN achieved a significantly better return, greater search volume, and higher monetization through blinkx than through other syndication partners.

AdHoc uses blinkx's patented speech-to-text transcription and visual analysis technology to understand video content more thoroughly and effectively than any other service today, and can therefore dynamically place the most pertinent advertising against it. The AdHoc platform offers media companies and advertisers a unique value proposition -- video advertising which combines the emotive power of TV promotion, with the relevance and utility of contextual search advertising.

The confluence of ITN's premium TV content, blinkx's extensive syndication network, and AdHoc's uniquely powerful targeting capabilities was a formula for success. By extending its partnership with blinkx, ITN aims to achieve similar returns by leveraging the AdHoc platform to deliver contextually relevant video advertising on its own website and across its distribution partner sites.

'We're thrilled to be broadening our relationship with ITN,' said Suranga Chandratillake, founder and CEO of blinkx. 'News content is one of the most popular categories of online video and there's clearly a tremendous opportunity for monetization. The success of our partnership with ITN is evidence that the blinkx AdHoc platform is a uniquely powerful solution for online video advertising today.'

'We've been delighted with the results of our partnership with blinkx and are looking forward to implementing the AdHoc technology on our site,' said Nicholas Wheeler, managing director, ITN On. 'blinkx AdHoc has proven that it can achieve significant monetization of our content, effective marketing for advertisers and, most importantly, a useful, non-disruptive experience for our audience.'

As a pioneer in video search technology, blinkx has built a reputation as the most effective way to search new forms of online content such as video. With more than 350 partners and 26 million hours of indexed video and audio content, including favorite TV moments, news clips, short documentaries, music videos, video blogs and more, blinkx uses advanced speech recognition technology to deliver results that are more accurate and reliable than standard metadata-based keyword searches.

The question has to be asked as to whether the MMs are holding on to stock for another big buyer.
Consider these facts 1) The news flow has been great.
2)Buys have generally been well ahead of sells, but the price has gone down rather than up
3) If Blinkx results are good in October, the MMs will make a lot of money

cynic - 20 Aug 2008 08:13 - 83 of 6187

many peeps will have made good money over the last few weeks and with the lack of hard news and general market malaise it is not too surprising to see sp drifting ..... however, it will prob need very good results linked to generally improved sentiment for sp to get up a new head of steam

Re: Yahoo Intel bring on internet TV

This is exactly the technology that Blinkx has been waiting for where you have a processor sitting in a TV.

Whilst this might be a joint venture between Intel and Yahoo that is only at the setup and testing phase. Intel cannot even think of making this an exclusive as the TV manufacturers would not allow it. Furthermore, I am sure AMD would soon blow a hole in that scenario.

So what you will have is a general purpose processor chip that will be connected to the internet over a wireless network and you will then be able to show directly on your TV anything you select from the internet.

Since Blinkx is the best at the selection and presentation level it is obvious it will be a big player in this technology. If you look at Blinkx Remote this is exactly the market it has been focussing on. If you connected your PC to your TV you could do this but it will be far more streamlined when the processor actually sits inside the TV.

I'm not one for reading charts but the last few days have seen significantly more buys than sells and it's only been the mm's final games which has taken it down.

Today we may have seen the turn.

an update on miva is due anytime.

HARRYCAT - 22 Aug 2008 20:25 - 86 of 6187

Sorry to be a pain, but good chart in the header, needs colour key code please. Tricky to interpret otherwise.

chessplayer - 22 Aug 2008 22:38 - 87 of 6187

selling to buying of MIVA by volume = 9:1 after the refusal of blinkx offer (18,000 to 2,000)These figures suggest that down the line we might return to the Blinkx offer.

Still Waiting - 22 Aug 2008 23:22 - 88 of 6187

I eonder if Google won anything?

'We're pleased to partner with blinkx, whose technology enables us to expand our reach further than ever before.'

Another good tie up here.I reckon that a lot of investors need to take their BLINKERS off and see that we have a real winner here, one way or another

moneyplus - 27 Aug 2008 11:49 - 94 of 6187

This is a very big US co. with revenues/profits of millions a tie up like this will attract much more US interest.

HARRYCAT - 27 Aug 2008 12:10 - 95 of 6187

I agree that it is certainly raising their profile. Is it likely though, to put off the big boys who may have been interested in acquiring BLNX?

moneyplus - 27 Aug 2008 12:57 - 96 of 6187

The faster it grows the more it will cost them! I don't think AU. will be willing to sell as Mike Lynch holds a sizeable stake and he has already stated he didn't realise how fast this would take off. 450 partners in under 2 years is some growth! I know we're waiting for the revenue figures to astound us but this co. was not expected to make a profit for 3 years--not it looks as though profits can't be far away!

chessplayer - 27 Aug 2008 22:05 - 97 of 6187

The above comments reflect well, and buys lead sells today by 3 to 2,but the MMs have seen fit to mark the stock down by1/4 point.I suppose if it had been equal it would have been 1 point down.
signed bitter and twisted

Still Waiting - 27 Aug 2008 23:07 - 98 of 6187

8 weeks till the results, the mm's are playing a dangerous game and may still be facilitating a big buy order.

either way the mv is way too low for a global leader in the search sector, google or yahoo or MSN will gobble this up shortly.

people shorting this must be mad, I'm continuing to buy as funds allow, each to their own.
