Media Corp (Gaming Corpoartion GMC)Attracting Some Big Names. (MDC)

goldfinger - 05 Dec 2003 00:33

Up nearlly 15% today and I beleive there could be more to come.

Evil Knievil has tipped it on EvilCast and has bought in 100,000 worth of stock a notifiable interest. He rates the management very highly and says they are attracting all the big bookmakers to the online casino site including punters the likes of William Hill, Chandler, and Ladbrokes. The company are now running at a profit every month and should break into a yearly profit from the years previous loss very soon. The company also ownes in partnership with a Swiss firm Boss another casino site and by all accounts that is doing well.

Im looking at this one as a momentum play pretty high risk as there are competitors out there but I feel the management will give it the edge.

Please DYOR, and remember you are responsible for your own buying and selling actions.

cheers GF.

The right time to buy, DV, was when the offer was 10.25p.

Unfortunately I got back in just before the drop at 12.18 so only looking at a profit now.

Can see it rising to 15p pre-results and I'll be looking to sell my trading block at 18p, hopefully. My core holding will be staying in the bank until the company is bought out -- or there's a rumour of a bid.

Speaking of rumours, it seems T-Mobile could be the next network to sign up.

Hi, anyone got any explanations to offer on the slip in sp we've seen over the last two days?

I read many theories on other BBs including "natural retrace following a buying phase" and even that the trade at 09:58 yesterday of 1 share is a MM signal to hold the sp back!

Any thoughts much appreciated.

PS Usually post on ADVFN but since they've redesigned their site I cannot view it from my work PC - anyone in a similar boat?

Check out the future, boys and gals:

http://poker.casino.co.uk/default.aspx

GMC has the two best portals in the business -- www.casino.co.uk and www.gambling.com -- and they'll both soon be directing punters to its own casino site.

You can now download the software to your desktop by pushing the play now button. Official opening can't be too far away.

Thanks for that. I'm feeling pretty good about these. The Drummond brothers are shrewd guys and with all the changes since last year it's looking good. Just needed patience.

I think we can safely disregard talk about current P/E and concentrate more on 2006 P/E ratios. Currently the P/E is around the 35-40 mark which is deserved given the high growth being experienced at GMC.

Next year GMC is forecast to earn a profit of 3-4 million pounds, therefore on current valuations that would make its 2006 P/E of less than 10 assuming a static share price. 2007 profit is estimated at the 7-8 million pounds mark which again shows significant growth from 2005 and 2006.

This rate of growth leads myself to believe that the market could easily rate GMC with a high P/E similar to this years levels to reflect high growth. On that basis GMC could easily have market cap 0f 150-200 million during 2006 which would make the sp around 70p marker.

Are we on the move at last up 6.5% today. Or is it another false dawn. Results out on the 22nd and a bit of faith being restored in the gaming sector. Lets hope so.

JT Master Investor - 03 Nov 2005 12:17 - 813 of 1117

I reckon a false dawn because how many times have we seen good rises only to see them disapperar either the same day or next

mickeyskint - 03 Nov 2005 15:09 - 814 of 1117

Know what you mean JT. Still over the year the rise has been massive, just a pity I wasn't it at 3p.

Nice to see Shares mag confirming the rumour about the deal with T-Mobile.

belisce6 - 04 Nov 2005 10:50 - 817 of 1117

yeah.....am quite hopefull of some kind of profit being announced....as their Interim loss was quite small.....and from their trading statements everything seemed to exceed expectations.

Paulo2 - 04 Nov 2005 15:44 - 818 of 1117

Interesting that IG Index have moved their spread on GMC up 0.5p.

mickeyskint - 04 Nov 2005 16:02 - 819 of 1117

If thats the case Paulo what do they know that we don't. Time will tell. The Drummond brothers won't let this go cheap if they let it go at all. 12/24 more months growth in their hands would suit me very well.

MS

wjordan - 05 Nov 2005 13:55 - 820 of 1117

I think we still have 6 months to go before we see the share price rally. The reason being that the 2006 forecast of 3.14m (arburthnot) seems steep to most investors that do not understand the business model. By the interims in 2006 (should be in May) we will begin to see if they are on target to make that sort of profit or not. We will also know by then whether the mobile gaming businesses is looking like it could be a solid revenue earner.

Given the low forward PEs that gaming companies currently command and the expected move from being a mostly marketing company to more split between gaming and marketing I would value the company on a forward PE of 20.

That would give a market cap of about 60m by results next May. [about 22p a share]

If the mobile division does well and they win more mobile network contracts AND the mobile companies actually start to market the products I would put them on a market cap of 80m by next May [about 30p a share]

mickeyskint - 05 Nov 2005 14:07 - 821 of 1117

wjordan

I think that's a very reasonable argument. More realistic than others I've read on other boards.

LOL

Paulo2 - 05 Nov 2005 20:13 - 822 of 1117

Fair point, wjordan.

But if we are looking at a profit of say 550k, a tie in with T-Mobile and the confirmation of revenue from our own casino site, I can still see the SP being driven up to 17-18p on results day.

Don't you think?!

Paulo2 - 05 Nov 2005 20:18 - 823 of 1117

I think the fact that the new site looks set to get off to a flier will certainly drive sentiment. And I particularly like the highlighted paragraph:

PokerNetwork signs with Gaming Corp
25 Jul 2005

PokerNetwork signs with Gaming Corp UKs no 1 gaming portal operator
PokerNetwork, the worlds third largest online poker network, owned by Ongame, has won the approval of Gaming Corporation (Gaming Corp). UKs no 1 gaming portal operator. Gaming Corp and PokerNetwork have signed a licensing agreement that will enable for Gaming Corp to enter the fast growing online poker market.
PokerNetwork consists of an exclusive group of premium partners, including PokerRoom.com, that drive customers into a shared pool of poker players. Each partner retains ownership of its own player database and continues to earn commission for the lifetime of the player as they compete across the network of over 5 million worldwide poker players.
Under the terms of the agreement PokerNetwork will provide fully customized poker software that will enable Gaming Corp to offer its rapidly growing database of customers a state of the art and highly liquid multiplayer poker application that can be accessed both online and via a mobile device.
Karl Magnusson, VP and Chief Administration Officer of Ongame, commented,
We are delighted to have signed this deal with Gaming Corp, a partner in which we see great potential. We are confident that this partnership will generate significant revenues for both companies.

The size of PokerNetworks existing community will ensure that Gaming Corp enters this fast growing market with best of breed software and most importantly heavily populated poker tables from day one.
Gaming Corp is the number 1 gaming portal operator in the UK and owner of both www.gambling.com and www.casino.co.uk.
Justin Drummond, Gaming Corp Chief Executive, commented,
This is a key deal for Gaming Corp; we will be able to offer our extensive customer database multi-player poker that can be accessed on the internet or via a normal mobile handset. Mobile poker players simply log on to a live poker table in the same way they do online joining thousands of simultaneous players competing from the internet or mobile device.

It is anticipated that Gaming Corps service via PokerNetwork will be launched at the beginning of September.
