Thought Id start this one going because its rather dead on this board at the moment and I suppose all my usual muckers are either at the Stella tennis event watching Dim Tim (lose again) or at Henly Regatta eating cucumber sandwiches (they wish,...NOT).
Anyway please feel free to just talk to yourself blast away and let it go on any company or subject you wish. Just wish Id thought of this one before.
cheers GF.

It's a Mad Mad Mad Mad World,
A job centre in Thetford, Norfolk, refused a job advert because it contained the word, 'RELIABLE', as it would discriminate against 'unreliable' people.
I suppose words such as, Honest, Punctual, Enthusiastic, Loyal, Hard working, etc will also be liable to discriminate for similar reasons.
After publicity re this the add was accepted.
You couldn't make it up.

After the latest scandal of Tevez calling Neville a `bootlicker`, there seems to have been some confusion amongst the younger fans regarding their idols comments.
A group of under 14`s football players were caught licking their boots in the changing rooms after assuming that it would increase their chances of having the same success as Neville.
The craze seems to have spread around younger teams and the dream of been better players appears to have boosted their confidence enough to actually improve their performance.
We managed to catch up with a leading child psychologist who said, "Often you will find that a child has an ability which is compressed within and then released when confidence is increased. Sometimes a child will perform better if they believe within themselves that it is possible. In this case the children believe that by licking their boots they will play better football and therefore because they believe - they do play better!"
However as this crazy craze spreads over the country some angry mothers have stepped forward and criticised Tevez. One mother issued this statement "What a silly thing to encourage children to do. We enjoy are children following football, we don`t even mind if they have the odd poster on the wall of their favourite football player but I think this is just one step too far! I caught one boy just about to lick his shoe that had a certain unsavory item stuck to it! Tevez should have thought about this before encouraging it."
Well boys you know the saying `Never eat yellow snow`, the same rule sort of applies here - `Never lick a brown boot!`.

Tobasco,
Fully agree (not that your a thicko) but regarding the Korean threat. Although I put Iran at the top of the threat list. But it is only natural to fight back at someone you know you can beat.
I tend to put things as simplistic as possible (because that's the way I look at things, and they often are simplistic), if you are as an individual threatened by a thug who you think you can defend yourself against you do so. But if that thug is a 20 stone gorilla, then you would be a fool to do so.
When there is a situation where to defend yourself you have 'no choice' then you just have to take the risk. There may come a time with Korea/Iran and a few others, where there is no alternative but to fight.
Remember the 'bottle' shown by J F Kennedy in 1962 during the Cuban Missile Crisis.
I think the vast majority except that the stand taken by J F K was the only thing that saved the world from the possibility of World War 3.
Problem is that risk has re-surfaced in another guise.
Perhaps I should get a placard stating, (The End Is Neigh) and join the band of usual protesters that you see in several cities. Of course one day they will be right.

Tabasco,
You say, "WarsI believehave rather different motives than portrayed by the Politicianslike I said just my opinion".
Couldn't agree more. I wonder if the day will ever come when a Politician gets up and says something along the lines of, 'We are going to bomb the b******s before they bomb us, or/and it's all about oil, stupid'.
Centuries ago most wars were over water, now they are over oil.

Kim,
The description fits Tony (teflon) Blair better than the meerkat,
He won the hearts of everyone in Morley (West Yorks) with his exploits, his bright inquisitive eyes and little chirrups. Being very tame (tamed by peter Mandelson), he was taken on school visits and to meet the residents of local care homes.
Although I do find meerkats more endearing than TB. Perhaps in the future they hopefully will become extinct, not meerkats obviously.
Greek.
