Cairn were the top contender for farm in partner, but as the FOGL RNS said, the potential farm in partner had other corporate things to do and wanted them done first before committing.
If it is CNE then hopefully their purchase of NPE announced today is the last of the events to be done before the deal can be done with FOGL.
Interesting times ahead now for many reasons.

I like to watch the "Fear and Greed" index. We always get into Extreme Fear in June time, and the markets always recover in August onwards generally. So June/July are likely to be weak but we should, as history projects, see things get better in August/Sept/Oct - perfect Loligo timing.

Hi Guy's. New to the Oil and Gas stocks.............A little bit of me is still where my career started, which was in the "Petro Chemical Industry". This does not mean however, that I have the experience you guys have, in buying into explorer stocks.
So I hope you guys don't mind me joining your Oil and Gas threads......never too late to learn!
I have been buying and selling shares in the following stocks for the past 12 months now..........I hope I have/am doing the right thing, I'm sure you will let me know if I am/not?
These stocks are;
1) Falklands Oil and Gas
2) Border and Southern
3) Range Resources
4) Petroceltic
I have studied the Falklands for a number of years now.........I have not got a crystal ball, but there is black gold in them deep water!?

Yep, just needs a few bank bail outs sorted and then when they announce QE3 the markets will go into booooom time along with all the pension values in the USA, just in time to make people happy for the US elections.
Few more weeks of volatility and then you will see that chart continue its move on upwards to greed........

I Know, Rockhopper seemed a little expensive when I finally entered the Oil and Gas Stocks..........I think I should. Keep you posted on that one.
Gulf Keystone Petroleum look good what to you guy's think?
Anyway, how many more times to buy into the Falklands Oil and Gas and sell prior to take off.............I am more nervous not being in the stock than I am owning them?

From yesterday's statement on the Falklands referendum in the UK House of Commons.
Jim Shannon (Strangford) (DUP): I thank the Minister for his commitment to a referendum for the people of the Falklands. Oil has recently been discovered off the Falkland Islands. Will he assure the House that full protection will be given to any of the companies exploring for oil, that the benefit of any oil revenue will go to the people of the Falkland Islands and that any aggression from Argentina will be seen off?
Mr Lidington: The revenues from any successful oil and gas development will indeed accrue to the Falkland Islands Government. They have voluntarily said that they would want to share some of that revenue with the United Kingdom to offset the cost of our defence expenditure towards the islands. I can assure the hon. Gentleman that we will do everything necessary to protect the legal right of the Falkland Islands to continue with hydrocarbon development.

Good strength, looks like the farm out deal is perhaps in the final approval stages now and news could come next week or the week after.

Hi Pessimism Sauce,
If this makes sense, apologies if not; I generally commence my investment with a set amount.........Then I listen and gain as much information as possible, then follow the share. Wait to the share gets to a new high and recoup my initial investment, leave the gain in the stock, then wait to the share drops, this is the hard bit, when to re-enter the stock.
It works for me! The danger is that when take-off occurs, and you are not in the stock, then you only have the gains. If you have managed to "overtake" your initial investment, then happiness is. It hurts though, if the stock drops to the basement.
I do feel though, that there are gallons of that thick black stuff below those deep waters.
