THE TALK TO YOURSELF THREAD. (NOWT)

goldfinger - 09 Jun 2005 12:25

Thought Id start this one going because its rather dead on this board at the moment and I suppose all my usual muckers are either at the Stella tennis event watching Dim Tim (lose again) or at Henly Regatta eating cucumber sandwiches (they wish,...NOT).

Anyway please feel free to just talk to yourself blast away and let it go on any company or subject you wish. Just wish Id thought of this one before.

cheers GF.

greekman - 03 Feb 2010 11:13 - 8143 of 81564

Tabasco,

You state you play golf on Fridays. So if the rest of us took dcb suggestion, one first thing in a morning for a week we would still be several holes behind you.
Still I would bet most of us would like to make a hole in one. Which one is the problem.

Note... Just in case some smutty minds on here think I am lowering the standard of this thread (that would take some doing) I am of course referring to golf courses and the fact that those who don't play golf regularly will make less holes than those who do.
Which one, is referring to which one of 18.

Fred1,
Was going to mention the Welsh and sheep, but as I now live in Yorkshire, I better not go there.

Well, for me, giving me the ability to look at their fantastic legs, is just about all those girls have to offer me - being a happily married man and all that.

Thank you girls. Keep on getting photographed and I'll keep on looking. :-)

One other lovely lady in my life telephoned about an hour ago. She says she cannot visit tomorrow to cut my hair.

"Oh dear," I ventured. "What's wrong?"

"I've broken a bone in my neck," she said. "I've been fitted with a brace and haven't slept much. Can we make it Thursday next week?"

How could I turn her down?

(Thinks.....Well, not onto her head, anyway..... :-)

Ah well.

Fred1new - 03 Feb 2010 12:33 - 8153 of 81564

I bet poster post 8133 was reviewed by some a little more carefully. 8-)

Just enjoying Gordon slamming Wisteria on the Daily Politics.

Cameron looks a prat.

Even the tory party are cheering Brown now.

Are there going to be defections from the tory party to the Labour or Lib Dems.

The electoral reforms went down well.

Fred1new - 03 Feb 2010 12:35 - 8154 of 81564

Notice tory party e-mailers have been organised for blunderbuss responses.

tabasco - 03 Feb 2010 13:00 - 8155 of 81564

Fred...GORDON Brown was accused of playing pre-election political games last night as he unveiled plans for a complete overhaul of Britain's electoral system just a few weeks before the general election.

The Prime Minister said he wanted to hold a referendum next year on whether MPs should be elected through an "Alternative Vote" system, whereby candidates would be ranked by voters.

In short, he is calling for a parliamentary vote to decide on a referendum vote, which will then decide on a voting system at a general election.

Downing Street insisted yesterday it could push through the reform before the election, but Labour sources were conceding last night that Mr Brown's moves were designed primarily to "out-flank" the Conservatives on electoral reform ahead of the campaign.

The Labour Party seemed quite happy with the electoral system since 1997...strange they want an overhaul just before an election where for the first time since 1997...they are not favourites?

Fred1new - 03 Feb 2010 13:13 - 8156 of 81564

Tabby,

I think it may produce a government more representative of the electorate.

I would be prefer an referendum on proportional representation.

I may come as a amending proposal.

The present system has a bias to guess whom.

2517GEORGE - 03 Feb 2010 13:15 - 8157 of 81564

Gordon Brown's record on referendum promises is 0 from 1.

Chris Carson - 03 Feb 2010 13:41 - 8158 of 81564

Fred - It beggars belief that your uncompromising bias in support of Gordon Brown continues despite the obvious evidence which is revealed even more on a daily basis of his complete incompetance of a) Chancellor (Spot the missing Gold is just one example sold at bottom of the market, how does he sleep?) and b) His total arrogance, lack of any charisma by-pass which is soreley required, lack of any humility whatsoever etc etc etc. Or is it just me? The guy must be the most hated man on the planet sureley even you must have sussed that by now!

tabasco - 03 Feb 2010 13:42 - 8159 of 81564

But Fredwhy has it taken him until four months before an election that he believes Labour will losehe simply will never listen to anyone
I will give youhe became Prime Minister at a difficult and unique timethe worst world recession for many yearsbutwhen Brown became chancellor in 1997... Britain held 715 tons of goldin 1999 he decided to sell off more than half of the countrys centuries-old gold reserveshe planned to sell 400 tons before 2002...Brown offloaded the gold at a 20-year low in the markethe was warned that he could barely have chosen a worse momentThe 17 auctions achieved prices for the gold of between $256 and $296 an ounce with an average of $275...remind me of the price nowits good to talkbut he dont know how?he makes too many mistakesand refuses to listen to othersresult = disaster
