THE TALK TO YOURSELF THREAD. (NOWT)

goldfinger - 09 Jun 2005 12:25

Thought Id start this one going because its rather dead on this board at the moment and I suppose all my usual muckers are either at the Stella tennis event watching Dim Tim (lose again) or at Henly Regatta eating cucumber sandwiches (they wish,...NOT).

Anyway please feel free to just talk to yourself blast away and let it go on any company or subject you wish. Just wish Id thought of this one before.

cheers GF.

Fred - It beggars belief that your uncompromising bias in support of Gordon Brown continues despite the obvious evidence which is revealed even more on a daily basis of his complete incompetance of a) Chancellor (Spot the missing Gold is just one example sold at bottom of the market, how does he sleep?) and b) His total arrogance, lack of any charisma by-pass which is soreley required, lack of any humility whatsoever etc etc etc. Or is it just me? The guy must be the most hated man on the planet sureley even you must have sussed that by now!

But Fredwhy has it taken him until four months before an election that he believes Labour will losehe simply will never listen to anyone
I will give youhe became Prime Minister at a difficult and unique timethe worst world recession for many yearsbutwhen Brown became chancellor in 1997... Britain held 715 tons of goldin 1999 he decided to sell off more than half of the countrys centuries-old gold reserveshe planned to sell 400 tons before 2002...Brown offloaded the gold at a 20-year low in the markethe was warned that he could barely have chosen a worse momentThe 17 auctions achieved prices for the gold of between $256 and $296 an ounce with an average of $275...remind me of the price nowits good to talkbut he dont know how?he makes too many mistakesand refuses to listen to othersresult = disaster

Tabby,

What was the price of "Silver sale" by Maggie. Who did Maggie give the cash to?

At the time of the Gold Sale who were GB advisers.

How many countries have reduced their gold reserves.

What debts did he sign off on during the first 10years of his reign.

What was done with the cash from the sales.

Consider standards of living for the MAJORITY of the PEOPLE of this Country in the 80s and 90s to the period 1997-2010.

CC>

I don't think Gordon has anything to worry about in the "Charisma" Stakes when comparing with "Wishy and Washy", who can't even stick a economic policy together. Nor stick to a policy when given one.

They have the intellect of Laurel and Hardy in comparison to Brown, as World opinion reflects.

Met a chap in the pub the other day, who when I was referring to Osborne as Pork Chop, until it was suggested "Porky and Bess" would be better.

What a shower.

Tabs, if you ever meet any of the Young and Old tories you have an umbrella with you.

Amazing (not) Freds reply to proper questions strangely absent. No doubt we will be treated to some spurious garbage later when no ones looking ;O)))

Chris Carson - 03 Feb 2010 15:35 - 8163 of 81564

Ooops spoke to soon :o)

Fred1new - 03 Feb 2010 15:36 - 8164 of 81564

Isaacs,

Could be referring to the flouting of International Law by Israel and the killing and maiming of civilians "Adults an Children" by their illegal use of Phosphorus Bombs in Gaza.

But that would be a distraction.

(But watch the flies gather.)

Fred1new - 03 Feb 2010 15:38 - 8165 of 81564

CC. I think it is time you went to the water closet again.

Fred1new - 03 Feb 2010 15:41 - 8166 of 81564

Perhaps, it will give you time to recognise where you left your brain last time

Balerboy - 03 Feb 2010 15:47 - 8167 of 81564

Fred are you trying to take over from Mrsi???

Chris Carson - 03 Feb 2010 15:48 - 8168 of 81564

Fred = Kept my part of the deal, have I abused you I dont think so, you as usual revert to type and dodge the question and lob in your usual insults. I rest my case your worships! :o)

Fred1new - 03 Feb 2010 16:03 - 8169 of 81564

CC,

I suggest you review your postings and then rethink.

Perhaps, you don't recognise when you are being abusive.

In general I do, and they are intentional.

Fred1new - 03 Feb 2010 16:05 - 8170 of 81564

Simply put, when you are being personal try to distinguish between the subject, object an the act

Also try to avoid be sycophantic.

Chris Carson - 03 Feb 2010 16:13 - 8171 of 81564

So what you saying Fred? Your ramblings are deliberately offensive? I'll give you the benefit of the doubt MISGUIDED perhaps?

tabasco - 03 Feb 2010 16:41 - 8172 of 81564

Fredfirst point I did not like Maggiesecond at the time of the meeting when the decision to sell the gold was announced senior executives from at least two big investment banks were presentBrown was notit has been documented they advised the timing of the decision as ludicrousthey claimed We thought it was a disastrous decision; we couldnt understand it. We brought up a lot of potential problems at the meetingbut Brown no listen thirdnot many countries reduced their Gold reserves around that timemaybe Switzerlandbut not surefourth 1999 marked the peak for North Sea oil productionBritain was pumping around 2.8m barrels of oil every daythats a lot of revenuefifththe living standards have been supported by the credit crazy Bankers have given out.and that ended in tears... now let me say what I think Mr. Brown and this Government has done for us all gave away billions of taxpayers money to the bankersdont mention the Gold againdont mention the Wars.more billions gave Britain away to the EU threw more billions away in bureaucratic ideasthe Treasury has also given permission to print shedloads more moneyI wouldnt back Brown if he was up against a one legged man in an arse kicking contestand he wouldnt be favouritejust opinion though Fred.nothing more

tabasco - 03 Feb 2010 16:54 - 8173 of 81564

Not forgetting he wasnt democratically voted in by the British public as our Prime Ministerperhaps thats the electoral reform................we vote not the party for a PM if mid-term?

greekman - 03 Feb 2010 16:55 - 8174 of 81564

Looks like I spoke too soon re adult conversation without the insults. And that comment is aimed at more than one poster. Please don't let this thread degenerate to the level of some on MoneyAm.

The problem is one offensive insult often attracts a reply in the same vein.

If, or when, I respond to you in an abusive manner, it is in generally in response to personal remarks, which you seem to delight in, when you post on the various threads concerning me.

I make no apologies for doing so.

I have no objection to having any argument I advance being savaged, dismantled, debunk in a serious, humorous, or jocular manner, but in general, I do not like personal denigration of myself, or others.

I do debunk my own arguments, stances and allegiances more frequently than you may suppose. Generally, it is with a chuckle.

However, as the majority know, many of the arguments, which I advance, are tongue in cheek.

But what does get up my nose, since I was very young, is the ganging up by some, who attempt to bully, or abuse others.

Luckily, I am a lot bigger and thicker skinned than most, and it has not been a problem for me.

Your remarks about me are of no consequence, but once again I suggest you reread your postings.
If what I have written is irrelevant to you, so be it.

tabasco - 03 Feb 2010 17:22 - 8176 of 81564
