and had you belatedly followed the lemmings, you could have done yourself a lot more damage - note the day's high and current

kimoldfield - 13 Mar 2015 14:07 - 819 of 1468

Only historical long term damage for me, to be replaced with the euphoria of making a profit in the shorter term. Maybe! :o)

greekman - 13 Mar 2015 15:21 - 820 of 1468

Typical tree shack, more like they have got the bloody chain saws out.

greekman - 13 Mar 2015 16:29 - 821 of 1468

In 15 plus years of following the markets, I have never seen a tree shake as strong as this.

The sp lead the trades, not the other way round and to me that has to point to a 'huge' order waiting to be filled.

required field - 13 Mar 2015 18:50 - 822 of 1468

Another good day for this.......with commercial orders now coming along : should do well.....job to set any target at this early stage but the sp should continue to rise....we just have to be patient....

greekman - 16 Mar 2015 07:23 - 823 of 1468

If this was a wind farm company that had almost tripled its sp within a week it would have been all over the media, especially the pro wind farm BBC.

Not that bothered though, as when the media band wagon does start to catch up it will be phenomenal.

required field - 16 Mar 2015 08:10 - 824 of 1468

The pro wind farm BBC ?...hmmmm....plenty of experience there !....

required field - 16 Mar 2015 08:12 - 825 of 1468

Anyway : this looks like the year the fuel cell companies really take of.....

required field - 16 Mar 2015 09:41 - 826 of 1468

With hindsight : could have played this one in the Isa with a sale and a rebuy......trouble is don't have the time to monitor it all the time.....and prefer to be in than out as I reckon this company is going places...

greekman - 16 Mar 2015 09:50 - 827 of 1468

Hi Rf,

Not sure if you mean sell share not in an ISA, then buy back into an ISA, but if so when I did a 'bed and Isa' a couple of years ago, I was out of the market for less than 2 minutes. Best though to check with your broker as to how long it will take.

Mine would not allow me to do it on line, only via the phone so he could confirm sale and buy.

cynic - 16 Mar 2015 10:07 - 828 of 1468

does not the 30 day rule apply to ISAs?

required field - 16 Mar 2015 10:12 - 829 of 1468

In an isa there are no taxable gains, hence you can buy and sell at will....if you are a trader you can buy and sell at will in or outside an isa...doesn't matter....this 30 day rule needs to be abolished ! as it is a farce...who does it penalise ?...the small investor as usual...and how do you count the 30 days ? day 1 starts when exactly ?....it's a mess...

HARRYCAT - 16 Mar 2015 10:14 - 830 of 1468

I was going to post the same. Surely the 30 day rule is a CGT calculation, which is not applicable in an ISA?

skinny - 16 Mar 2015 10:14 - 831 of 1468

No - although most providers will, for obvious reasons, have cut off dates -

...............Certificates Funds ........Shares
Bed & ISA 17 March 31 March 1 April
Bed & SIPP 17 March 24 March 30 March

required field - 16 Mar 2015 10:21 - 832 of 1468

To do with matching rules....but it's a mess....I cannot see the point of it....nightmare to work out the cgt....

cynic - 16 Mar 2015 10:28 - 833 of 1468

harry - exactly so, which is why it may be forbidden within an ISA

skinny - 16 Mar 2015 10:47 - 834 of 1468

Put simplistically, when you sell shares and repurchase in an ISA / SIPP, the latter is deemed to be the new owner by the revenue and are not subject to the 30 day matching rule.

cynic - 16 Mar 2015 11:08 - 835 of 1468

thanks skinny for you clearly speak as a man of authority

skinny - 16 Mar 2015 11:12 - 836 of 1468

Hardly - just ask my grandchildren! :-)

cynic - 16 Mar 2015 11:15 - 837 of 1468

not sure whether or not this is worth a dabble/trade
clearly it has momentum, whether or not that is for good reason - don't forget how cheap oil/petrol is currently - but i also note some hefty MM potential sales at only a little above the the current price
