........."And so to our traditional "wild card". Pipex Communications, formerly known as GX Networks, is a telecoms company created by one of the entrepreneurs behind Ukbetting, Peter Dubens. It has been assembled from six smaller players. The ambitious company is generating cash for the first time but is still not widely followed in the City. It could be an undiscovered gem".

Stick with it. Look at the chart over the past six months. It pushes up a lot and then pulls back a little. In the long term I strongly believe this is only going one way. This company has put in place some very good strategic components for great success.

Pipex is now the largest investment in my share portfolio and I am reasonably optimistic about making a reasonable profit in the medium to long term.
The long term success of Pipex will depend on the service it provides to customers and value for money etc. The market for broadband provision in the UK is quite competitive.
The site www.ispreview.co.uk provides user reviews of the different ISP providers. Pipex does reasonably well but 'could do better' in some areas, particularly technical support.

Not very experienced myself but if you press the search button at the top of the lists and enter tax in the body keywords you will list several threads that may be of some help.

Any reason for the move, this is proving to be a nice little earner for me, do we think the 16 target price is realistic... would be a quadruple bagger if it does reach such dizzy heights : - )

This has been talked about in the past notes with views ranging from 13 - 20p by year end. My thoughts only - I have had shares for a couple of years since they feel from the 6p mark adding and selling a little on the way. I think the company is well placed to grow over the next year or so and may well be in the market for a another purchase. The plan to date has worked well and the final buy of pipex has firmly placed the company in the top 5. The full report should show some good figures and I think 13-16 is a reasonable target, after that the mc gets quite large. Overgrowth has put some good views in earlier notes as has jules99 worth having a look at those. As usual dyor, but with no bad news from the full report I think more to come, after all it is only February

The Web's Winners - January 2004
If you're looking for guidance on choosing a new Web host or ISP, then these awards should point you in the right direction. PIPEX had a remarkable year, scooping the awards for best consumer broadband provider and best business ISP. The company took second place in the battle for best business broadband provider, trailing NDO. This is the third year that PIPEX has won the best business ISP category.
"We are thrilled to be recognised yet again as the UK's leading ISP in both business and consumer markets. These awards are especially meaningful because they are voted for by the end users", said David Rickards, chief operating officer of PIPEX Communications. He promised that the company would build upon this success providing customers with additional services that will "help them to get maximum benefit out of both their data and voice communications". Well jules99 the buying was good today and the price seems set to push on up tomorrow, if there are good early trades, just need to break this 12p and hold. If all the news is good and they do pick another award you might well see your 16p target become a reality in the near future. As the buys & sells were tight today at the top 11 we could hold more large sells till the 12.75 - 13 mark. Anybody got any thoughts on where to next? Jules99 Do you still fancy the 20p mark ?
