Surprised nobody mentioned this yesterday:

RNS Number:9611E Victoria Oil & Gas PLC 21 June 2006 Victoria Oil & Gas Plc 21 June 2006 Significant Shareholding Victoria Oil & Gas Plc (the "Company") was notified on 21 June, 2006 by Man Financial Limited that it no longer holds a notifiable interest in the ordinary shares of the Company. Do they know something we don't?

skyhigh - 22 Jun 2006 15:43 - 826 of 2511

probably!

lizard - 22 Jun 2006 16:58 - 827 of 2511

closing any short positions for expected rns!

rmhyams - 22 Jun 2006 23:40 - 828 of 2511

I suspect that Man Financial have sold enough shares to take their holding to just below 3% as opposed to selling all their holding.

lizard - 27 Jun 2006 11:58 - 829 of 2511

they haven't got long until end of month and the update deadline. another delay would f up the sp again further. this week we need an rns and hopefully a good one.

cynic - 27 Jun 2006 15:37 - 830 of 2511

I am sure there will be an RNS from VOG by the end of the month, but confess that I am less certain than I was that it will be definitive, which is slightly worrying, at least in the short term

Peter123 - 27 Jun 2006 16:51 - 831 of 2511

Three more days to the end of the month. The RNS have to come out. Fingers crossed...

peeyam - 28 Jun 2006 15:55 - 832 of 2511

yes if the directors are to be beleived we should have a RNS by friday, since they promised end of june. was wondering though why man etc are reducing holdings when all of us are looking forward to this so much? did they get a hint of something bad to come ? or they just not intersted ? any ideas? what ever I have decided to gamble on this with a T10 worst case can close it few days later at somewhat this level and best case it will shoot up :)

WOODIE - 28 Jun 2006 16:24 - 833 of 2511

peeyam there is no reason not to belive them when i spoke to k.foo a few weeks back he said there will be one by end of june no matter what the tests show if good bad or in between or another delay.re man this was covered in earlier posts i think dont read to much into them selling.

peeyam - 29 Jun 2006 07:09 - 834 of 2511

woodie, if he said that then we looking good. should hear something today or tomorrow, The wells are in a good region, with running wells in the region so hopefully they strike it and if they dont i guess we dig deeper :) The last time they had a update it was released at 7:00am, which has just passed so i guess after market today or tomorrow morning.

WOODIE - 29 Jun 2006 07:39 - 835 of 2511

going down to the wire again

WOODIE - 29 Jun 2006 08:00 - 836 of 2511

rns just out

peeyam - 29 Jun 2006 08:05 - 837 of 2511

:(

lizard - 29 Jun 2006 08:09 - 838 of 2511

still a long term hold.

peeyam - 29 Jun 2006 08:14 - 839 of 2511

news is not that bad, they have one well confirmed so i guess i will hold these Long term as well

peeyam - 29 Jun 2006 08:17 - 840 of 2511

may as well average down prices

AndrewThomson77 - 29 Jun 2006 08:42 - 841 of 2511

News is pretty bad, peeyam. West Med has had its estimates dropped by 9% and the three wells are non-commercial.

Still not bad enough to warrant the huge SP drop though.

peeyam - 29 Jun 2006 09:01 - 842 of 2511

- 9% drop in estimates
- One billion barrels of oil equivalent confirmed (i would have thought this was atleast something to be happy about)

SP drop of 30% is a bit too much so i guess it would recover to a more decent level in the next few days, unless there are huge sellers out there, for long term it looks like one to hold. what do you think is the prospect from here?

lizard - 29 Jun 2006 09:30 - 843 of 2511

well that t10 proved a disaster- i guess i will now be buying at a large loss!.

soul traders - 29 Jun 2006 10:44 - 844 of 2511

Morning all. A bit of a disappointment with the non-commerciality of Danniella.

I agree with Peeyam - longer-term the prospects are very good. We should not forget that this is one of the world's premier gas regions and that apparently the horizons due to be tested next are more prospective than the ones just tested (I hope this proves to be the case!).

The way to get the best out of these E&P's is to buy on the dips as that's where you get the baggers. A strong portfolio of prospects is the key. Look at what happened to NOP last summer on disappointment over two particular wells, followed by the spectacular rebound for a 5-bagger when they got into something more commercially viable. VOG ought to be capable of recovering, although how low it will go in between is anybody's guess.

Having sold half my holding at 215p I'll now be looking for a chance to buy some back at a price that seems cheap. Will most probably hang on to my core holding unless I really fancy my chances at predicting the peaks and troughs.

Good luck everybody.
