THE TALK TO YOURSELF THREAD. (NOWT)

goldfinger - 09 Jun 2005 12:25

Thought Id start this one going because its rather dead on this board at the moment and I suppose all my usual muckers are either at the Stella tennis event watching Dim Tim (lose again) or at Henly Regatta eating cucumber sandwiches (they wish,...NOT).

Anyway please feel free to just talk to yourself blast away and let it go on any company or subject you wish. Just wish Id thought of this one before.

cheers GF.

Tabasco,

My feelings exactly. I think we are also in for another shock when the UK's true financial debt situation is exposed.
I think anyone who feels the true figures are already known, have their head buried deep in the sand.

Mnamreh,

I now have a very disturbing vision of your sex life, so if I don't comment further it may hopefully go away.

ptholden - 12 Feb 2010 11:52 - 8265 of 81564

Yep, you must be doing really well Tabby, you were calling the FTSE short from about 4950 to 4500, not even in the money yet!

Incidentally, you were right to be shouted down on the FTSE, it went up to 5500, 1000pts up from your target, a huge error of judgement.

This_is_me - 12 Feb 2010 21:25 - 8269 of 81564

unbelievable but completely true!

Can you imagine working for a company that has a little more than 600 employees and has the following employee statistics .

29 have been accused of spouse abuse

7 have been arrested for fraud

9 have been accused of writing bad cheque's

17 have directly or indirectly bankrupted at least 2 businesses

3 have done time for assault

71 cannot get a credit card due to bad credit

14 have been arrested on drug-related charges

8 have been arrested for shoplifting

21 are currently defendants in lawsuits

84 have been arrested for drink driving in the last year

Which organisation is this ?

It's the 635 members of the House of Commons, the same group that cranks out hundreds of new laws each year designed to keep the rest of us inline.

And just to top all that they probably have the best 'corporate' pension scheme in the country!!

Lovely story, but sadly just a variation on a US email: http://www.snopes.com/politics/crime/congress.asp

In fact you can't be elected as an MP if you are a bankrupt, and 84 arrested for drink driving in the past year? I think we would have heard about that :-)

This_is_me - 12 Feb 2010 23:31 - 8271 of 81564

The thing is a lot of the population at first glance a lot of people believe it!

This-is-me,

No wonder the government don't want more prisons built. If there was true justice, they could fill one of them just with MPs.

Simply put the next lot won't be any better.

The problem is they may be worse.

Sometimes there comes a man bearing false gifts.

I wonder if that is Wisteria?

mnamreh - Succinctly put, BRAVO! The only problem is Mr. Gordon Brown was not elected by our good selves, but on his own admission 'did a deal' with our weak former PM Mr. Tony Blair, God willing this will be put right by the forthcoming General Election, a naive hope perhaps? But as the yanks would say 'That's All We Got Baby@ :o)))

Fred1new - 14 Feb 2010 13:49 - 8279 of 81564

TIM,

Will all the declarations by UKIP be as honest, reliable and clear as the one you posted 8272?

Will this be standard of reporting and propaganda, which we could expect from your chosen party?
==========================

What amuses me is how the tory blue rinse brigade are up in arms about MPs false expense claims, but accept the New Teflon Cameron as their leader to the promised land.

This is the guy who made a false claim for cutting his Wisteria.

When tapped on the shoulder said sorry Guv and quickly dipped in his deep pocket and gave the loot back.

(I wish I had tried that one when my accountant submitted my tax returns.)

His closet sorry closest colleague Porky did the same for claiming for a taxi

He then turns on other member of the gang and decries them for their lack of honesty.

He may not be an accountant, but is be toted by the loony right as the new messiah and yet doesnt understand the regulation or cant count. (He should be able to do so he has been to Eton.)

This is the man some suggest will be the new PM.

Is this calibre of person you wish to see as PM.?

If that happens I think the meaning of PM should be changed to gang leader.

Then there another mate of the gang, who is sharing loot around:

A bloke called Ashes or something like that. The guy who would like to rule from some spot in a foreign country he calls home.

What a crazy corrupt world we live in.
