THE TALK TO YOURSELF THREAD. (NOWT)

goldfinger - 09 Jun 2005 12:25

Thought Id start this one going because its rather dead on this board at the moment and I suppose all my usual muckers are either at the Stella tennis event watching Dim Tim (lose again) or at Henly Regatta eating cucumber sandwiches (they wish,...NOT).

Anyway please feel free to just talk to yourself blast away and let it go on any company or subject you wish. Just wish Id thought of this one before.

cheers GF.

Balerboy,

Re....Don't see many froggies fighting in Iraq. Please don't lump all persons from a single country together. Surely the lack of French Forces fighting in Iraq is down to their government.
Although this is a 'Talk to yourself thread' (and talk about almost anything), it has always been a none personal, none insulting thread, with plenty of friendly banter. Lets keep it that way.

Very eloquently worded Hilaryand I will except your take

The French Connectionyou are preaching to the convertedwhen we talk about Great Britain nowwe are of course referring to the populationhelped on by the waving hand in Calais of the French Law enforcement agencies
I would be living in France now if the family would agreealmost all that you say is correct thoughin fact it could have been me writing itI will however take issue with the driving.the French think Magny Cours is all roadsparking is still stopping a car where you like as for traditional cuisineI agree you need to visit villages and we wont mention BookmakersI have eaten in the Le Restaurant Opera in Paris with a group of friendswe all put on that polite smile when we received the tabthink they added a zero?
The rest of your post is spot onI have had the pleasure to visit many French villagesBormes-Les-Mimosas is like walking into paradiseOld Village Mougins at night is spectacular for a meal Grassenot so prettybut we buy all our smellies from the greatest perfumery in the World.not forgetting Biot for its sensational designer handblown glasswareand of course the Hippodrome Cagnes-sur-MerLa Cote DAzurs very own Ascot
Balerthe French wont fight in Iraqbecause they are sensiblewhy are we fighting there?answers please?they also dont get pissed.in my experience they drink far less wine than we doand as for shagging each other..better to shag each otherthan a complete strangertheir children normally have a Mum and Dad..

I struggle to understand broker recommendations, today Panmure Gordon have a hold rating on BDEV and a target price fully 50p above it's current level of 121p, why not a buy? I don't hold these or any hb's for that matter, I still feel there is more downside to come.

TheFrenchConnectionwhat a worthy nomination

Jonathan Aitken made his notorious speech:
"If it falls to me to start a fight to cut out the cancer of bent and twisted journalism in our country with the simple sword of truth and the trusty shield of British fair play, so be it. I am ready for the fight. The fight against falsehood and those who peddle it. My fight begins today. Thank you and good afternoon"
Aitken carried out his threat to sue. The action collapsed in June 1997...It was alleged that Aitken had been prepared to have his teenage daughter Victoria lie under oath to support his version of events
Aitken was later charged with perjury and perverting the course of justice in 1999 was jailed for 18 months of which he served seven During the preceding of the libel trial his wife Lolicia, who later left him, was called as a witness to sign a supportive affidavitwhat a worthy nomination
