I reckon this company will be taken over at some stage....the Iraqis are desperate for oil revenue.....but anyhow on any discovery it always takes about a year to get production facilities up and running...and offshore : many years...

these shares are going south fast!!--usually somebody knows something before we all get to hear--maybe they have not found as much oil or any further oil in this deep well they are currently drilling!!--SELL guys and take your profits--these shares could well go to 60-70p very quickly!--or even lower back to @40-50p--let see what happens!--my advice personally would be to get out and review situation after announcement- SELL

Best to be on the sidelines until the new Kurdistan Regional Government is sworn in.

Anybody with a friend on the drilling platform ?.

cynic - 21 Oct 2009 10:17 - 843 of 5505

have now sold all but a modest rump ..... despite today's bloodbath, i have actually BANKED a stonking great profit, or put another way, the balance i hold costs me a "useful/good profit" less than NIL

=========

arguably "paniced out" too readily, but sp could just as easily have continued ever southwards - now +/-113

Strong rebound...forced me into selling some more....great profit..up it goes again...how you ever seen anything like this since VOG or ITM ?.

cynic - 21 Oct 2009 10:42 - 845 of 5505

even so, am not a buyer at these levels

required field - 21 Oct 2009 10:43 - 846 of 5505

If it crashed : I would be stuffed but it has made a huge oil discovery so far so it can only go down a certain amount !.

cynic - 21 Oct 2009 10:45 - 847 of 5505

indeed, though there is an element of truth that the baghdad boys will be as obstructive as possible with regards to granting export permission

We are a year away from production at least so is that a worry at the moment ? nonsense !.

required field - 21 Oct 2009 11:03 - 849 of 5505

That drop had me worried earlier on......it might level off now....

cynic - 21 Oct 2009 11:03 - 850 of 5505

probably more like 2/3 years, but peeps don't like uncertainty and more to the point, sp had bolted away on no new news ..... only 3/4 days ago, we would have been more than happy with sp at current level or even at 90/95

required field - 21 Oct 2009 11:06 - 851 of 5505

I have taken some good profits in the last day or so....probably having to stay put now until this expected rns...I would hate to see the sp crash to 70p or so...aghhh...

micky468 - 21 Oct 2009 12:30 - 852 of 5505

looks like somebody is buying a lot of share at this price lots of activity going on lots of movement but no volume cynic any view on this ? or any one like to comment

required field - 21 Oct 2009 12:41 - 853 of 5505

A bit off subject....I reckon we are heading for a dollar slump like $1.80 or even $1.90 to the pound.....and that could put the WTI (crude) up.....and that could trigger upgrades for production oil stocks....not saying I'm 100 percent sure of this but it's a possibility.

seems to me a bit of scare mongering.... missed opertunity to top up in veiw, well news still to come and sp will stay near 100p till then, then we have to make a hastey desision..imo. for what it's worth. hello.

required field - 21 Oct 2009 15:03 - 856 of 5505

The problem is whether the market has another big discovery priced in or not....if it hasn't and they announce another strike of a decent size : up the sp will go....if not down we go but by how much and at what price will this stabilise before the other block gets spudded (drilling)...all guesswork...

halifax - 21 Oct 2009 15:19 - 857 of 5505

Don't forget to factor in the political risk, Baghdad will still have a say in what is happening in Kurdistan.

watcher - 21 Oct 2009 15:46 - 858 of 5505

it would be logical that although the government have had their noses put out of joint....they surely cant give up revenue from a resource that they will base the countries economy on for years to come....so would face great pressure to get on with things.....and if the find is as large as stated.....the pressure is greater.....pun
