Yourself

I think your baking has rubbed off on me,as i am going through a stage of baking fruit cakes.

No irony there i hope.

daves dazzlers - 20 Dec 2005 10:04 - 8556 of 24230

Can you beat this one bunny

butter 3/4 cup
vanilla essence 1/4 tsp
eggs 3
lemon juice 2 tsp
dried mixed fruit
plain flour 1.5/8 cups
baking powder 2 tsp
sugar 1 cup
ground cinnamon 1/4 tsp
ground nutmeg 1/4 tsp.

I know your a bit of a whizz .

stockbunny - 20 Dec 2005 10:09 - 8557 of 24230

Sounds yummy Dave, the recipe choice depends on how rich you want it really and how long you are going to let it mature and soak in booze!
Have you tried added the grated rind of a big orange to that mixture, some glace cherries and maybe a teaspoon of all-spice rather then individual spices, but then of course everyone has to like ginger etc and if they don't best to leave it as it is.
I'm no good on cup measurements LOL I only understand oz's or g's or tablespoons!
LOL

daves dazzlers - 20 Dec 2005 10:22 - 8558 of 24230

I see oz`s & g`s,,are they them numbers on them plastic jugs.

stockbunny - 20 Dec 2005 10:27 - 8559 of 24230

They're fl.oz (fluid ounces) and fluid milligrammes, on a measuring jug, you really want scales for ozs and gs as they are dry weights but I'm told it works out pretty much the same anyway. If you're used to cups hun you stick with 'em! ;>)
Most recipes these days give both cups and the others so no problem!
:>)
I'm cheating this year (again) due to time constraints, I've got a bought rich fruit cake from Tesco and I'll just marzipan and royal ice it - sad but true LOL

optomistic - 20 Dec 2005 12:44 - 8560 of 24230

I've only been out for the morning, now we have a cookery class. What next :-)

stockbunny - 20 Dec 2005 13:16 - 8561 of 24230

You can wash up!
;>)

optomistic - 20 Dec 2005 13:18 - 8562 of 24230

Thanks :-(
