would love to know what happened to those 1m directors' shares though

cynic - 15 Mar 2007 08:55 - 87 of 841

perhaps time to start looking to buy this one again .... shall contemplate

HARRYCAT - 15 Mar 2007 09:02 - 88 of 841

WHAT!!! I can't remember you suggesting selling it! :o)

cynic - 15 Mar 2007 09:15 - 89 of 841

i took my profits here 2/3 weeks ago at 702 but have just bought back in at 652.5 ...... look quite strongly bid at the moment.

also took my profit at RTN about 3 days ago as a precaution against the markets falling out of bed .... this of course they duly did, though RTN has bucked the trend on the back of a strong buy note from Dresdner or similar.

Not quite a fair comparison, but DOM now looks better value than RTN

HARRYCAT - 22 Mar 2007 12:46 - 90 of 841

Cynic, if you are about, Shares Mag chartist has recommended a sell at 650p, stop loss 680p, target 540p, based on a bearish divergence on the chart with no support from the 50 DMA. The 200 DMA is currently at 540p & the theory is that he thinks the sp will now test this level. Any thoughts?

cynic - 22 Mar 2007 17:38 - 91 of 841

i am happy to differ ...... Shares Mag is interesting but am far from convinced as to its performance record ...... I happen to like DOM (and RTN) as imo, this is absolutely the right sector and both DOM and RTN have the proven track record of performing outstandingly .... whether or not DOM has a short term blip remains to be seen ..... my current position (traded very profitably previously) is at break even

HARRYCAT - 22 Mar 2007 21:51 - 92 of 841

No, I'm not saying the Shares Mag is the Holy Grail, but all opinions contribute to a balanced view.
Yes, a short term bounce down, so for you guys who play the points, the opinion is to go short.

cynic - 23 Mar 2007 06:15 - 93 of 841

i see where SM is coming from but the comment seems to a pretty cagey sort of sell - i.e. Simon Griffith does not sound overly convinced himself, no doubt based on DOM's historic strong performance

cynic - 04 Apr 2007 15:49 - 94 of 841

i already hold, but for those who do not, keep an eye on the chart ... sp just trying to break back UP through 25 dma + undemanding rsi (see post 67)

cynic - 23 Apr 2007 10:04 - 95 of 841

BANG! ..... don't know why the rise, but certainly arrived with something of a vengeance ...... 687/700 next hurdle ..... break through that, and sp is in new high ground

HARRYCAT - 23 Apr 2007 10:23 - 96 of 841

No news that I can see & not particularly big volume of shares traded (24000) so far today. But I am back in profit, so no complaints.

cynic - 23 Apr 2007 10:27 - 97 of 841

volume only ever averages 3/400k ...... from memory, DOM is about to split the shares to aid stock liquidity ..... but the company is good anyway ..... i chop n change between this and RTN and sometimes hold both, depending on what the "value" n stuff look like

HARRYCAT - 23 Apr 2007 10:38 - 98 of 841

Strange as the AGM is coming up on the 27th & also the following which I would have thought would have diluted the value a little:

"The company has today applied for 99,250 new ordinary shares of 5 pence each in the company to be admitted to trading on the Alternative Investment Market of the London Stock Exchange ('Admission'). These are shares which have been issued pursuant to the exercise of options by certain employees of the Company under the Domino's Pizza Share Option (Unapproved) Scheme. Admission of such shares is expected to occur on the 25 April.

Following the issue of such shares, the Company's issued share capital consists of 51,580,384 ordinary shares with voting rights."

cynic - 23 Apr 2007 10:44 - 99 of 841

100k shares is less than nothing of the total .... must be options or similar ..... expect a not-unexpected very bullish trading statement at AGM to explain rise

HARRYCAT - 24 Apr 2007 15:51 - 100 of 841

Bid 686p Offer 692p
Hopefully going to test the 700p level again soon.

For immediate release 26 April 2007

Domino's Pizza UK & IRL plc

AGM STATEMENT

Domino's Pizza UK & IRL plc (the 'Company' or 'Domino's'), the UK and Ireland's
leading pizza delivery company, will be holding its Annual General Meeting at
1pm today.

Stephen Hemsley, Chief Executive, will make the following statement:

'I am pleased to report a strong start to the year with system sales in the 16
weeks to 22 April 2007 ahead 24.0% (2006: 18.9%) to 86.8m (2006: 70.0m). In
the same 16 weeks, like-for-like sales in the 404 mature stores (2006: 357
stores) were up 14.6% (2006: 8.8%). This growth was driven by our successful
product and marketing innovations. A key driver was also our continuing focus on
improving operational standards, and in particular, improving the speed of
service to our customers.

'We are very encouraged by the strong start to the year, but are mindful of the
very strong comparatives last year as a result of the football World Cup in June
/July 2006 and the strong product launch/marketing campaign in the last quarter
of 2006. Whilst prospects for 2007 are excellent, we are unlikely to be able to
maintain the like-for-like growth rate achieved in the first 16 weeks of the
year.

'A total of 14 new stores have opened as of today's date, (2006:12) and we are
at this stage on track to reach our target of 50 store openings this year,
despite the challenging planning regime. As a result of our strong trading and
on track store openings, we anticipate results for the financial year to be
ahead of current market expectations.

'As of today, there are 464 Domino's Pizza stores open and trading in the UK and
Ireland and the market continues to offer strong growth opportunities, with the
potential for up to 1,000 stores in these territories. We will continue to focus
exclusively on developing the Domino's Pizza brand in these markets.'

tremendous results yet again with a well-deserved reflection in sp ...... takes rsi a bit high, but with sp now having at last broken into new high ground with considerable momentum, there could easily be further upside

HARRYCAT - 26 Apr 2007 08:49 - 103 of 841

Awesome. I tip my hat to you cynic. I owe you a pint.

cynic - 26 Apr 2007 08:55 - 104 of 841

i may shortly turn my attention back to RTN but would like to see a little more weakness there before jumping back in

The whole Stockwatch RNS is worth reading, but herebelow an extract ....

Altium Securities to repeat its 'buy' stance and 880 pence target price ...... Altium called the performance 'impressive', adding that whilst it would expect the current strength in like-for-like sales to moderate as the year progresses, it still believes there is potential for its revised 8 pct forecast (previously 6 pct) to be exceeded ..... If that proves to be the case, there is a likelihood of a further upgrade later in the year, said Altium.
