Media Corp (Gaming Corpoartion GMC)Attracting Some Big Names. (MDC)

goldfinger - 05 Dec 2003 00:33

Up nearlly 15% today and I beleive there could be more to come.

Evil Knievil has tipped it on EvilCast and has bought in 100,000 worth of stock a notifiable interest. He rates the management very highly and says they are attracting all the big bookmakers to the online casino site including punters the likes of William Hill, Chandler, and Ladbrokes. The company are now running at a profit every month and should break into a yearly profit from the years previous loss very soon. The company also ownes in partnership with a Swiss firm Boss another casino site and by all accounts that is doing well.

Im looking at this one as a momentum play pretty high risk as there are competitors out there but I feel the management will give it the edge.

Please DYOR, and remember you are responsible for your own buying and selling actions.

cheers GF.

Teather&Greenwood

In an online gaming review the broker reiterates its buy rating for Sportingbet, has a strong buy rating for Gaming Corporation, and sell ratings for PartyGaming, UKBetting and BetonSports.

Sounds good to me. Will just have to be a bit more patience, but I'm sure the gravy train will arrive soon.

I have never read so much BS (AlwaysBanking)....GMC has got one of the most solid business models of any gaming company as their income is spread between advertising revenue and online gaming revenue giving them the most robust income stream from any online gaming company and in any type of market. A more competitive market (in the online gaming sector) works right into their hands as GMC's portals will benefit from the extra money that other gaming companies need to spend to be competitive.

I am not sure if you read any of the (independent) research that is out on the market but they all have one thing in common - GMC is the only company that gets Buy or Strong Buy recommendation (Arbuthnot/Teathers).

Share price is definitley undervalued as people haven't yet caught on to the fact that the next big thing in online gaming will be playing on mobile phones. As far as I know GMC is the leader in this field (and the only company to offer this service) with their contract with Orange. Revenues from this are way beyond expectations which confirms that mobile gaming is the thing to watch out for.

Look out for 23-26p in the next 6 months and the possibility that someone will make a bid for the company at an even higher price.

I have lost out on a fortune by not holding on to my holdings in several shares--HBG-groan-MTT-groan-HMY and so on! I am not doing the same with this one-though patience is definitely needed. it seems to me this is a tasty morsel for one of the bigger boys--I'm hanging on to mine!

moneyplus - 01 Dec 2005 11:20 - 872 of 1117

Also last post on the YOO thread says mobile gambling is taking off in a big way-isn't GMC offering this through Orange?

mickeyskint - 01 Dec 2005 11:49 - 873 of 1117

Yes and talk of a T Mobile deal.

Again from the other place. An interesting read.

San Francisco, CA and London, UK: The mobile gambling market is poised for rapid expansion as gambling operators develop their remote operations. Companies in the m-gambling value chain are beginning to position themselves and mobile gambling will take off in earnest in Q2 2006. This is the finding from a new study, Mobile gambling: Identifying winning market strategies, published by industry research company, visiongain.

Visiongain estimates that the mobile gambling market will generate revenues totalling $4.26 billion in 2008. The limited number of gambling operators and the small number of devices that are suited for mobile gambling activities have inhibited the number of gamblers who use mobile devices. This is about to change, however, and visiongain forecasts significant growth ahead.

As regulatory, technical and other challenges are gradually resolved, gambling operators are expected to begin actively marketing mobile gambling to their customers, starting in the middle of 2006, says report author Jean-Pierre Aubertin. Initial trials of mobile gambling sites have confirmed the channel as viable sources of income for gambling site operators such as William Hill and Ladbrokes, he noted.

The segments of the mobile gambling market covered in this study refer to services being developed that will complement those currently delivered by fixed and online gaming operators. Visiongain believes mobile gambling represents the logical extension of online gambling, and forms part of the segment of the gambling industry known as remote gambling.

This report examines the significance and impact that mobile gambling will have on the gambling and cellular industries. It outlines and examines the various solutions offered by leading vendors on the market and offers a comprehensive assessment of the attitudes and expectations of end-users. Advice on pricing and pricing levels are also discussed for different segments of the market.

Gentlemen,

I normally do not return to a previous field of success. And, given that I made 1m on GMC early last year, I have surprised myself by yesterday buying 500,000 GMC at 10.75p.

If this doesn't move the price then nothing will. I followed EK and topped up, this is looking good value and generating cash.

MOUSESHARE,

I have no idea who you are or why you seem to have taken against me. But it is a free country and, if you wish so to pose, I am hardly in a position to check your stance.

However, I wonder if I may now take you up on the 50p target that I posited for GMC? Essentially on the run up to 22p where I sold a lot of stock I simply did not know how far this gaming boom would run. Nobody did.

So it seemed possible to me that 50p might apply.

Things have now moved on: GMC seems to have stabilised into a proper cash-producing company. The blue sky has disappeared. But the company is capitalised at 30m and seems to me to have a bright future with steadily rising cash generation and profits giving a fully taxed PE of the order of 12 and falling. That does not seem aggressive to me.

Simon Cawkwell

PS: You accuse me of short termism. But, for what it is worth, I originally entered at 2p (5m at 2p) and held for nearly two years when no movement at all occurred. Short termist? Me? I let others decide.

LOL
