Deltex (DEMG)

grajul - 19 Feb 2004 13:39

Hi all
pretty new to all this. I have pumped some into Deltex - looks like a strong product with good growth. Could be a steady gainer.
Does anyone else have this, and anyone have some research on it? Someone with more experience than me!
thanks in advance.

Stockdog, my fear was that this would continue to fall and I was right. Glad I took my money out at 22.5p last week but also glad that its on my watchlist because it will come good. I hope to get back in at less than 22p before the good news but if it don't come soon will they need to raise funds? Good Luck and hope to be back soon.

stockdog - 21 Feb 2005 22:07 - 88 of 968

AS - if they need to raise funds, what proportion of existing stock will this be and will it be at a discount? I don't see they could need more than the order of 1 million max which would dilute today's cap by about 7.4% - hardly a catastrophic decline in SP at the very worst.

However, remember Directors stated "The net cash position at the end of the year was 1,101,000. The Directors believe the current level of cash is sufficient to see the Company to profitability." in their TA 5th January following their admission things were delayed in December's TA. They must be pretty certain that this is true still. Do they also have borrowing/overdraft capacity for short-term needs?

So fundraising seems unlikely through further delay in signing deals, but may be required for roll-out of manufacturing, implementation and marketing plan - no bad thing.

My dream scenario is that they are delaying announcing the final results to 31st December until they can simultaneously announce that they have signed at least some of the 14 NHS deals pending. There has never been an indication that they will not be signed, just when. My belief is strengthened by the fact that they still have not announced the date for finals - still waitign to get in as much good news as possible.

By the way, I too continue to fear they might fall further, but my greed got the better of me today!

I applaud your plan SD as I do believe this will come good and now you have more at a lower average. I'm watching and waiting to get back in.

stockdog - 23 Feb 2005 14:17 - 90 of 968

At last we have a date for the annual results - 15th March just RNS'd.

This gives us a bit of a time scale against which to measure the inside market's anticpation of where we are headed.

Given this news and the price holding up at 19/20, I remain pleased with my recent purchase.

Does anyone have any thoughts on this one or do we think that everyone is waiting for results and some good news in there following the announcement about hospital spending earlier in the year.

skyhigh - 09 Mar 2005 09:10 - 92 of 968

The Gov. & NHS is incapable of progress and making good, effective investment decisions, it's slow, disorganised and held back by admin layers... extra money has gone in but wasted. the NHS is not run like a business where it's has to invest to survive. It'll just go on wasting the money that it knows will be put in.
After the election no more money will be put in with out putting up taxes. This it may or may not do depending on the political backdrop. This will also take time to to do but it will also be wasted again unless there's quick and effective NHS reforms.
So, all in all, I'm not convinced that there'll good news in the results on the day of their release.
Having gone into Deltex 3 months ago (wished I'd done a bit more research!),I hope I'm wrong and contracts /deals come along soon but I'm not banking on it. (IMHO)

sjtee - 09 Mar 2005 09:22 - 93 of 968

I tend to agree not least of all because we are at the end of the NHS budget year and therefore decisions will be put off until April/May. I suppose this could be seen as a potential positive if the assertions of the positive support for the product is right.

stockdog - 09 Mar 2005 10:33 - 94 of 968

I doubt if even the NHS makes capital expenditure decisions on money left over in the last month of its year.

I am more inclined to believe they may have made expenditure plans already and are waiting for the new year to begin when they can spend "new" money.

I bought near the last high and again on the recent low, so I too am hoping that something gets moving soon.

What's the story with the Shares sell recommend today? Can't read it since no access, so can someone post it, please.

Standing by for shocks to the SP which I continue to hold.

Have not seen the Shares Mag "sell" comments, however, I bet it's something along the lines of my comments above ? Results are going to be bad with no sign of any sales to the NHS.. I should've got out a while back when Delta announced the contract delays... but I didn't.. Oh well! not worth getting out now...can only hold on for the next year or two and hope for a miracle to happen

Arf Dysg - 10 Mar 2005 10:54 - 97 of 968

What a bunch of sheep. Shares magazine says SELL and loads of people start selling. Why did shares magazine say sell? Because the price was going down.

Self-fulfilling prophecy.

I picked up some at 19.5p recently and am now inclined to wait for a resounding crash so I can buy some more.

Crash, baby, crash, baby, crash! C'mon, you can do it!

skyhigh - 10 Mar 2005 11:12 - 98 of 968

Deltex .. no sales to nhs, no contracts/deals = no revenue for deltex = even if it eventually does come through.. it's delayed from what looked likely 6 mnths ago = share price mark down.. = disaster. SP will go down further 12p (imho).. time to buy in again.. but..it will still be speculative!

stockdog - 10 Mar 2005 11:46 - 99 of 968

Arf Dysg - don't forget it is the sheep that allow you to buy in lower.

Skyhigh - awkward name to be attached to this share at present.

DELTEX MEDICAL GROUP
(DEMG:AIM) 20.5p
Shares in Deltex are crashing, with its price chart looking like
the north side of the Eiger. We should have said sell after the
warnings on 17 December and 5 January. Tipped at 27.25p
on 7 October 2004 the shares promptly jumped to 33.5p
before collapsing after the warnings.
Smart investors would have sold at 27p for a small loss if
they followed our 20% trailing stop loss advice.
Deltex hopes to clinch sales of its cardiac monitoring
products to NHS hospitals but there are plenty of competing
devices which seem to have brighter prospects.
SELL

as per your request Stockdog

stockdog - 10 Mar 2005 12:16 - 101 of 968

thanks, hampi-man - or rather, no thanks!

andysmith - 10 Mar 2005 13:15 - 102 of 968

Glad I got out a few weeks ago with small loss!!! BUT still on my watchlist becuase IF and when the deals do come through DEMG should be successful if only they get their before the dosh and support runs out. Can't understand why not implemented when suggestion is that it could save NHS money and reduce waiting times!!! Then again, Blair thinks the NHS is just great and can't be improved by any other means than making us throw more of our income tax at it!!!

stockdog - 10 Mar 2005 13:22 - 103 of 968

Hit my 33% stop loss - so I'm out at 16p.

Will try to buy in lower. Only has to fall to 15.5p to buy in again without loss.

I guess the chart support level of 8p ish is looking at least 50/50 - this sell off smacks of whispers in the wind of bad news on Tuesday.

I'm feeling very brave and grown up!

Stockdog, if you want to a chance to get your profits back and wish to stay in medical, quickly get into MDW before it flies big-time. yesterday as ideal top-up, I thought about but didn't!!!!

stockdog - 10 Mar 2005 14:51 - 105 of 968

thanks for the thought on MDW andysmith - with my usual timing the price has now gone up 1p

write out 500 times - buy low, sell high; buy low, sell high . . . .

SD

andysmith - 10 Mar 2005 14:55 - 106 of 968

True stockdog but it flew beyond 11p a short-time ago when some thought deal would be announced with results. Once deals come through MDW should really take off. <10p is cheap IMO. DEMG worth keeping on your watchlist, its on mine
