Media Corp (Gaming Corpoartion GMC)Attracting Some Big Names. (MDC)

goldfinger - 05 Dec 2003 00:33

Up nearlly 15% today and I beleive there could be more to come.

Evil Knievil has tipped it on EvilCast and has bought in 100,000 worth of stock a notifiable interest. He rates the management very highly and says they are attracting all the big bookmakers to the online casino site including punters the likes of William Hill, Chandler, and Ladbrokes. The company are now running at a profit every month and should break into a yearly profit from the years previous loss very soon. The company also ownes in partnership with a Swiss firm Boss another casino site and by all accounts that is doing well.

Im looking at this one as a momentum play pretty high risk as there are competitors out there but I feel the management will give it the edge.

Please DYOR, and remember you are responsible for your own buying and selling actions.

cheers GF.

Be nice if we could see the same sort of reaction that we got to the Hitwise rankings last year.

Could be game on people.

Gentlemen,

I normally do not return to a previous field of success. And, given that I made 1m on GMC early last year, I have surprised myself by yesterday buying 500,000 GMC at 10.75p.

Gentlemen,

I reckon the mobile gaming platform, after an hesitant start, is on its way. We'll see.

If this doesn't move the price then nothing will. I followed EK and topped up, this is looking good value and generating cash.

MOUSESHARE,

I have no idea who you are or why you seem to have taken against me. But it is a free country and, if you wish so to pose, I am hardly in a position to check your stance.

However, I wonder if I may now take you up on the 50p target that I posited for GMC? Essentially on the run up to 22p where I sold a lot of stock I simply did not know how far this gaming boom would run. Nobody did.

So it seemed possible to me that 50p might apply.

Things have now moved on: GMC seems to have stabilised into a proper cash-producing company. The blue sky has disappeared. But the company is capitalised at 30m and seems to me to have a bright future with steadily rising cash generation and profits giving a fully taxed PE of the order of 12 and falling. That does not seem aggressive to me.

Simon Cawkwell

PS: You accuse me of short termism. But, for what it is worth, I originally entered at 2p (5m at 2p) and held for nearly two years when no movement at all occurred. Short termist? Me? I let others decide.

From the other place. EK has bought another 300K @ 12.375 that brings his total up to 800K. Something is going on and he knows what it is, he knows the Drummond Bros on a personal level and has had them around for dinner. Target of 34p for year end 07. Looks good to me.

Good luck with this Mickey i`m almost tempted to get back into this one.
I did notice evil post on ADVFN the other day when he bought back in but as i`m not a regular user of that site i didn`t know if it was a genuine post or just someone using his name as a joke.

mickeyskint - 27 Jan 2006 11:30 - 890 of 1117

DB66

It was a genuine post, he confirmed it on the t1ps site. I don't follow him religiously as he's made some real howlers but I think with this one he's right. There is also the rumour of a take over possibily by a mobile operator. They are now generating cash and in profit. The big boys are in at 14p and with a target price of 22p for 06 and 34p for 07 I took the plunge and topped up at 10.75.

Having recently sold out I am now back in with a smaller holding because now I can hold for an age because not as much capital tied up. I cannot see GMC being at these levels for long IMHO and after the boom in poker at PRTY then surely GMC's new site could be raking in more than we know!

KeithFagan - 2 Feb'06 - 16:19 - 17581 of 17582

Well Good Afternoon everyone. Long time no post but new baby and new on line business takes its toll. The International Casino Exhibition at Earls Court was an interesting one this year. The increasing evidence of the On Line, Mobile and Downloadable Content companies was very visible here.

There was also a major conference addressing the Mobile Gaming market. What is evident from this is that the current on-line internet gamblers are NOT the mobile gambler as well. The two markets are very different with a miniscule cross over. The Golden Palace Group launched a mobile solution last year and it was a flop as it was aimed at their existing internet user.

GMC however is a different kettle of fish as their market is definitely the existing mobile user. They are, without doubt, the leader in their field and slightly ahead of their time. Orange will be helping by increasing the level of marketing support over the next year.

The Gaming and Amusement industries as a whole (land based and on line) are faced with a massive change over the next 2 years. Many of my potential new marketing clients are downloadable games, back end systems and second line supoort companies who are actively attacking the existing land based market. Unfortunately the luddite suppliers that control the land based industry will fight (albeit to now avail) to avoid their market share being eroded but this is inevitibly going to fail.

From my brief chat with Justin they are so busy with trying to keep up with technological advances that the introduction of new games before the summer will be difficult. However watch foreign markets and other mobile operators for signs of GMC invlovement (just the moronic diversity of European States individual Gaming Legislation to combat now).

Still a company to invest in, imo, and once the Inladn Revenue lessens its nasty grip I will be back in (again).

I know this is not about gmc, but I thought you might find the numbers interesting. There are real comparisons with GMC and if they expand with other mobile operators then the potential is enormous. I think this is now turning into a long term play with big rewards for those with patience. Unfortunately the associated graphs didn't transfer. From the other side epic SEA.

Aleman - 4 Feb'06 - 18:25 - 1481 of 1485

The web site offering SEA'a mobile poker - pokerheaven.com - is pulling 30k visitors a month and rising. I wonder how many download the software to play.

Wireless Wagers

FEBRUARY 06, 2006

Online gambling is already a huge industry and, as mobile phone technology advances, more and more consumers will also make bets on their phones.

Global revenues from mobile phone based casino games will grow at an accelerated pace through 2008, expanding by nearly 50% from 2006 to 2007, according to visiongain. Mobile casino game revenues are projected by visiongain to total over $2.2 billion by 2010 more than five times the revenues generated in 2004.

Revenues for all mobile gambling, including sports betting and others, totaled $1.2 billion in 2005, and will reach $7.6 billion by 2010, according to Informa Media & Telecoms. eMarketer estimates that worldwide online gambling revenues totaled $10.9 billion in 2005.

What is the appeal of mobile gambling? Visiongain surveyed mobile phone users in the UK, who overwhelmingly cited convenience as a benefit (70%), with smaller numbers saying that mobile gambling was less intimidating and allowed for more discretion.

The desire to gamble on cell phones is especially strong among 20 to 35 year-olds. Visiongain notes that this group tends to be unmarried or married without children, allowing them more time and disposable income with which to gamble. Although seniors are traditionally seen as a strong age group for gambling, just 2% of those who are 65 and over use mobile gambling, clearly demonstrating a technological barrier. About one-fifth of those under the age of 20 said they would gamble on their mobile phone. Age restrictions and a lack of money keep this percentage lower in practice.

It is also important to remember that mobile gambling is not confined to just casino games and sports betting. As Visiongain points out in its report, bingo could be also a big game among wireless consumers.
