It is nice to see some are prepared to let me live a little longer.

I don't see myself as left wing, but do believe in a decent humanitarian society.

I think this produces a less discordant society, less fragmentation and less social disorder (crime).

It may surprise some that I agreed with quite a lot of what Maggie Tat, did during the period of government.

What I did not like, was the brutality with which she was prepared to introduce her policies without concern for much of society.

Her policies help to fragment society and are partially responsible for the them and us society. It also helped to develop or increase the dependant society.

If she had spread her changes over a longer period and had regard to developing work for those who became unemployed it would have become more acceptable. (I.e. evolution, not revolution.)

Also, it is forgotten that she or her policies cause the demise of a lot of our industrial base. It was bound to happen, but not at the speed it occurred.

However, if you look at her latter years, I think she was a disaster.

I suggest that anyone who is interested in Government Waste and Euro Waste, to sign up to The Tax Payers Alliance. It is free to join, although they do accept donations, but they do not badger you for such.
They are 'none political' and will send you weekly e-mails about your wasted taxes, many of which even n these times have a chance to shock.

The Tax Payers Alliance were the first to highlight the MP's expenses, which were later as we know taken up in far greater detail by The Daily Telegraph.

So even if not interested in becoming a member, it's at least worth looking at their web site.

I am one of many that only conform if I accept it is right to do so, within reason obviously. I tend to rage a lot. Far too much according to my wife.
I agree with free speech with the proviso that those that speak do not overstep the mark by serious slander or serious personal insults, IE there has to be limits otherwise anyone could say anything about anyone. Too much freedom of speech can be as dangerous as none, look at the freedom of speech some Muslim Extremists have in this country.
Yes 2.4 children sound about right, perhaps even less in some countries otherwise we are leaving a legacy of over population for future generations, with everything that carries with it such as starvation, disease, poverty.
Job for life, pension, then death sound better than alternatives, (unless you are luck enough never to have t work).
As to swimming against the tide, as a wild swimmer this is the best way to swim for a challenge.

Break the rules, yes up to a point. I always tried to treat everyone fairly, which was different from treating everyone the same.
I tried to get the job done by putting the ordinary decent member of the public first, instead of the scrote (love this definision.....noun- Literally short for scrotum. When a person, usually a male, is so useless and insignificant that they do not deserve the tiny effort it takes to spit out a second offensive syllable; less than a scrotum), which often did mean, 'swimming against the tide'.
I never believed in any physical force in interview, although it was often difficult to abstain with some of the scumbags I had to deal with, but I did not believe in sitting them down, with tea, bickies and calling them sir or madam either.
A sort of cross between, Gene Hunt (ashes to ashes) and Dixon of Dock Green.
And yes, sometimes I was a bit extra cautious in order to get along.
