THE TALK TO YOURSELF THREAD. (NOWT)

goldfinger - 09 Jun 2005 12:25

Thought Id start this one going because its rather dead on this board at the moment and I suppose all my usual muckers are either at the Stella tennis event watching Dim Tim (lose again) or at Henly Regatta eating cucumber sandwiches (they wish,...NOT).

Anyway please feel free to just talk to yourself blast away and let it go on any company or subject you wish. Just wish Id thought of this one before.

cheers GF.

NN,

If it is on the shelf of my favourite shop I will do.

I suggest that anyone who is interested in Government Waste and Euro Waste, to sign up to The Tax Payers Alliance. It is free to join, although they do accept donations, but they do not badger you for such.
They are 'none political' and will send you weekly e-mails about your wasted taxes, many of which even n these times have a chance to shock.

The Tax Payers Alliance were the first to highlight the MP's expenses, which were later as we know taken up in far greater detail by The Daily Telegraph.

So even if not interested in becoming a member, it's at least worth looking at their web site.

mnamreh,

You say.....G - is that because you need order and conformity in life?

Follow rules, think in straight lines, don't swim against the tide, touch forelock Sir, para-military style regime keeping a lid on free speech, ideals of family, 2.4 children, mortgage, job-for-life then pension and death.

No rage against the man anymore?

Answer no.
I am one of many that only conform if I accept it is right to do so, within reason obviously. I tend to rage a lot. Far too much according to my wife.
I agree with free speech with the proviso that those that speak do not overstep the mark by serious slander or serious personal insults, IE there has to be limits otherwise anyone could say anything about anyone. Too much freedom of speech can be as dangerous as none, look at the freedom of speech some Muslim Extremists have in this country.
Yes 2.4 children sound about right, perhaps even less in some countries otherwise we are leaving a legacy of over population for future generations, with everything that carries with it such as starvation, disease, poverty.
Job for life, pension, then death sound better than alternatives, (unless you are luck enough never to have t work).
As to swimming against the tide, as a wild swimmer this is the best way to swim for a challenge.

Regards Greek.

mnamreh,

Break the rules, yes up to a point. I always tried to treat everyone fairly, which was different from treating everyone the same.
I tried to get the job done by putting the ordinary decent member of the public first, instead of the scrote (love this definision.....noun- Literally short for scrotum. When a person, usually a male, is so useless and insignificant that they do not deserve the tiny effort it takes to spit out a second offensive syllable; less than a scrotum), which often did mean, 'swimming against the tide'.
I never believed in any physical force in interview, although it was often difficult to abstain with some of the scumbags I had to deal with, but I did not believe in sitting them down, with tea, bickies and calling them sir or madam either.
A sort of cross between, Gene Hunt (ashes to ashes) and Dixon of Dock Green.
And yes, sometimes I was a bit extra cautious in order to get along.

Can some film producer bring back the Carry On filmsCarry On Banking would be a superb spoof to increase the momentum in bringing down these ba**ardsPeter Kay would make a great Eric Daniels and Jo Brand his wifewe could ask Erics mum what sexual position produces the ugliest childand work on the great love scenes you would need to get all aspects of the film correct.although sex wouldnt play a vital role with the wives?it could take comedy up another level? John Varley could be played by Johnny Vegas with Victoria Wood his long suffering wifehe would need a Bankers rise to connect with Vicky?and Frankie Boyle would make a great Bob Diamonda record pay package of 63.3 millioncould convince Bobs wife hes worth the odd shagJoan Rivers should play the lucky lady.. sounds like a winner!

greekman - 31 Mar 2010 10:11 - 8794 of 81564

Banks...Fidling b******s the lot of them.
About time this excuse for a government cracked down hard on them all, but anyone hoping for this should not hold their breath.

Now 'Carry on Banking', what a cracking idea.
Thing is would it be a comedy or more a (Greek) tragedy.

The only newspapers worth reading are The Daily Telegraph and The Daily Mail also someimes The Express. The relationship of the Guardian to intellectual thought is similar to the relationship between pot noodles and real food.

Fred1new - 31 Mar 2010 13:33 - 8796 of 81564

TIM,

I am beginning to understand your problems.

If the words in the Guardian are a bit too long for you, try the Sun.

Lots of pictures.

tabasco - 31 Mar 2010 13:43 - 8797 of 81564

The Daily Sport is similar to the relationship between Fanny and Freddieand Fanny get ready?

Those of you that have A-levels in Latin will be able to explain The word politics is made up of poli which is Latin for many and tics which are bloodsucking insects.therefore Politicians are literally many blood sucking insectsam I right?
Changing the subjectdid anyone watch SingleMarriedOthersix part drama that shed more tears in our house than Terms of Endearment and ET put togetherthey must make a second series

This_is_me - 31 Mar 2010 15:17 - 8799 of 81564

Fred you obviously are a complete plonker. The Guardian gives the impression of being intellectual but I have NEVER read anything in it that is other than pretentious foolishness passsing itself off as intellegent comment.

Fred1new - 31 Mar 2010 15:32 - 8800 of 81564

Tim,

Perhaps you were just reading the headlines, or couldn't comprehend the contents.

Perhaps, you just held a different view.

Your entitlement!

hilary - 31 Mar 2010 15:41 - 8801 of 81564

Hey, don't go knocking The Grauniad! John Urbanek's stock picks were fantastic shorts!

edit: On reflection, it may have been The Times where John Urbanek posted his diary. If it was The Times, then T-i-m is correct and The Grauniad is cr@p.
