THE TALK TO YOURSELF THREAD. (NOWT)

goldfinger - 09 Jun 2005 12:25

Thought Id start this one going because its rather dead on this board at the moment and I suppose all my usual muckers are either at the Stella tennis event watching Dim Tim (lose again) or at Henly Regatta eating cucumber sandwiches (they wish,...NOT).

Anyway please feel free to just talk to yourself blast away and let it go on any company or subject you wish. Just wish Id thought of this one before.

cheers GF.

Just heard on the news that Airports are having teams of Councillors standing by in case anyone needs counselling due to the trauma of flight delays.
What next, passengers being offered compensation for PTSD, bloody pathetic.
Not saying they should be denied compensation re monetary losses.

This_is_me - 22 Apr 2010 11:17 - 8914 of 81564

I am thinking of claiming compensation from the wife for the effects of her PMT on my quality of life? Any suggestions of what compensation I should claim?

Looks like Nick is in for a rough time in the next leader's debate!

Lib Dem donors paid money into Clegg's personal account
By Michelle McGagh | 09:02:35 | 22 April 2010

Vote Citywire! Visit our general election page for everything you need to know ahead of May 6.
Liberal Democrat leader Nick Clegg received payments to his personal bank account from three party donors, according to a report in The Daily Telegraph.

Clegg, who is currently enjoying a surge in popularity following the first live TV debate where he slammed MPs involved in the expenses scandal, is likely to face questions about the donations which he said were not used to fund private expenses but subsidised his parliamentary work.

Businessmen Ian Wright, senior executive at Diageo, KPMG head of public affairs Neil Sherlock and Michael Young, a former gold mining executive, all paid money into Cleggs account. Records of the account seen by the newspaper show each of the three men paid up to 250 a month to Clegg.

Alistair Graham, former chairman of the committee of standards in public life, told the paper the arrangement was irregular.

Given that hes been very holier than thou about these things, it would seem he has some explaining to do to his party and the electorate, he said

Not as holier than thou, as Wisteria Cameron.

Tim.

Your wife is complaining about your PMT on another thread!

Am I mistaken or did I hear that the one with the "stage" gangster name....is going to give an amnesty to all the illegals ?.....nuts...round them up and let's have some chain-gangs...before deporting them !.

tabasco - 23 Apr 2010 08:54 - 8918 of 81564

RF my interpretation was the amnesty was on a condition that they became normal working tax paying citizensand disclosed all evidence and knowledge to capture the gangs that traffic the immigrantsyou would never catch all those already illegally hereso it sounds like the best option?I cant think of a better one!

A man asked an American Indian what was his wife's name.
He replied, "She called Five Horses".

The man said, "That's an unusual name for your wife.

What does it mean?"
The Old Indian answered, "It old Indian Name. It mean . . .

Why didnt gorgeous George Crapinhalo come clean weeks ago?

greekman - 23 Apr 2010 11:17 - 8928 of 81564

Tabasco,

But it won't work.
If they are given amnesty before they get a job, or/and come forward that just can not work. They also if here illegally can not obtain work, so can not get a job prior to an amnesty (most have undeclared jobs anyway).
An amnesty would only encourage more illegals to come here, go underground hoping that another amnesty would follow.
There is an alternative that would work.
1 Draconian fines for those that employ illegalls, I went on a few raids with immigration, mainly at fast food businesses, who with agricultural are the main offenders.
2 No benefits.
3 Send them back without delay, and sod the rules that no other country bothers with or obeys.
4 Stricter boarder controls, which we no longer have thanks to the 'Freedom of Movement, that allow anyone who is resident of the EU countries to come and go as they please.

Net immigration is still at 163,000 per year, and that is those we know about.
Where will it end.
If the UK was a ship it would be sinking ever lower.
Unless you want the whole of the UK to be concreted over, the number of immigrants must be greatly reduced, and net immigration levels must be zero.

A couple of years ago if immigration was even mentioned, the speaker would have been labelled as Xenophobic, this was due to those in power not daring to look at the truth.
I am certain, that in a few years, people will look back, when the indigenous population of the UK are in the minority and say 'how could we allow this to happen'.
I know the augment that we are all a mixture of Anglo Saxon, Vikings etc, but the UK population at the end of the first century, about the middle of the Viking settlements era was about 1,000,000, a sixtieth of todays population figures

Everyone accepts that within the next 40 years the population of the UK will if increasing at the present rate be up from 60,000,000 to 70,000,000.

The problem is staring us in the face, why can't we all see it!

tabasco - 23 Apr 2010 11:27 - 8929 of 81564

GreekI dont know the answer?but when a crook turns goodhis mates tend to worryanyway I thought your first three ideas were already in placeand as far as stricter border controlsthat cost moneysomething we aint got!

Do you fancy changing your Nom De Plume Greekman? lol

greekman - 23 Apr 2010 11:43 - 8930 of 81564

But surely the money spent on 'boarder controls' would be saved via the cost of returning them to country of origin.
As for changing my Non De Plume, what would you and others suggest, (thats done it now, awaiting suggestions with trepidation).

Note......An ancestor of mine was, 'Vlad the impaler', perhaps thats were I get my ideas from.

greekman - 23 Apr 2010 11:53 - 8931 of 81564

Compare our views on the Burka with how Vlad dealt with such things.

Once, two ambasadors from the Sultan came with a message for Vlad. When they entered his throne room, he asked them to remove their turbans. It was considered rude to address the prince without taking off one's hat. The Turks, however, took exception to this request. For one thing, Vlad an the Sultan where not on good terms, so insulting him really didn't seem to matter, and just as importantly, the turbans were not just headgear, they were a symbol of the Muslim religion. The Turks refused, not knowing just how serious a mistake it was to insult Vlad. Vlad immediately ordered his guards to sieze them, and then stated that if they were so unwilling to part with the turbans, that they should be nailed to their heads. Vlad then watched in satisfaction as the Turks writhed and screamed as large nails were driven into their skulls.

Ok perhaps a tad, OTT.
