Media Corp (Gaming Corpoartion GMC)Attracting Some Big Names. (MDC)

goldfinger - 05 Dec 2003 00:33

Up nearlly 15% today and I beleive there could be more to come.

Evil Knievil has tipped it on EvilCast and has bought in 100,000 worth of stock a notifiable interest. He rates the management very highly and says they are attracting all the big bookmakers to the online casino site including punters the likes of William Hill, Chandler, and Ladbrokes. The company are now running at a profit every month and should break into a yearly profit from the years previous loss very soon. The company also ownes in partnership with a Swiss firm Boss another casino site and by all accounts that is doing well.

Im looking at this one as a momentum play pretty high risk as there are competitors out there but I feel the management will give it the edge.

Please DYOR, and remember you are responsible for your own buying and selling actions.

cheers GF.

From the other side. I agree this is now a mid/long term play and no longer a blue sky share. I'm happy holding for a potential 4 bagger.

Taurus, I remember a few weeks ago you said you very nearly bought GMC again, looking to get in at 10p or so, but the rise caused you to miss out. I don't see that anything has changed with the companies progress, so why has your view changed?

FWIW, My main interest in GMC is now mainly as a route into the mobile gambling sector (with gambling.com profits providing a very nice support to the share price).

I think that even though the m-gambling side of the business is very small, GMC are the current UK market leader and it's looking likely that Orange will begin to market the product mid-2006. The progress in mobile gambling has been slow due to problems with systems and security that had to be worked out (links below), but it seems that these issues are now being resolved by software developers.

This is really a mid- or long-term play in my opinion. My hopes are for good progress being reported in November, especially with respect to the mobile gambling and a strong share surge thereafter as people rush to get into this market. I've been looking to buy in more if they drop to 9-10p, hoping to see a four-fold return on a two-year play (cgt etc.)

From a recent visiongain report:
"The number of gamblers who use mobile devices to gamble is currently small. This is because of the presence of a limited number of gambling operators offering this particular channel to their customers, and also because of the small number of devices that are suited for mobile gambling activities.

This is, however, expected to change as regulatory, technical and other challenges are gradually overcome. As these are resolved, gambling operators are expected to begin actively marketing mobile gambling to their customers, starting in the middle of 2006."

To indicate the potential, it's been interesting to follow the success in the slotland mobile gambling after it's launch in the US late last year. Their launch offer was very attractive and seems to have worked very well:

"Until November 11, Slotland.com is offering special bonuses to new players, and extra free money to mobile players. New players get a free $5 just for signing up, and another free $20 added to their account if they wager on their phone or PDA. For details see www.Slotland.com/mobile."

I agree with that post.

GMC seems like a high risk, high return company at first sight, but as that post states, the profits from gambling.com act as a good solid base from which to grow. I think gambling.com alone makes net 1.5m per year now. This could be vital if they need to market their new products further.

One would imagine that at some stage they will make casino.co.uk an almost exclusively own-brand casino site page rather than an advertising portal. Perhaps the only advertising they could have on that page is a big gambling.com search tool. At the moment the casino.co.uk content is hopeless. Can anyone seriously say they go back to it time and time again? I doubt it. They can then develop their other portals like findpoker.com and casino.ie and gamblinglistings.com to take the place of the casino.co.uk portal. I find it rather odd that an orange mobile phone owner plays a casino.co.uk game and then goes to the website to get the mobile gambling info and other casino stuff, but finds a portal advertising other companies. It's plain weird, but I think it will change after year end once the profit is bagged.

does anyone else agree that the company would be far less confusing if they do make such a transition? They could do it in stages, making the links to the own casino better and more obvious toi begin with and then gradually removing those horrible banner adds and lists.

Hi. Some semblance of sanity over the last couple of days. Referring back to the 21st and a comment about mobile gamers and the lack of providers. As I said before the technology of mobile phones detracts from the attraction of gaming due to screen size. Also the available content is drab and dull and does not make for a marketable product.

From recent conversations with people in Sweden, Latvia and the UK the trend is towards new and more interesting video based content being made available for this, and other interactive markets. The number of companies involved in this area is increasing dramatically and will influence the design of games to cross all interactive/downloadable genres.

A meeting this morning with the leading UK amusement distributor confirms a sea change in the needs of the modern gambler and the requirement for companies to operate accross all areas. What is important is that players will not migrate from one platform to another and each market sector has to attract its own individual player base.

Speaking to Justin the other week he is very aware of this and this in itself is encouraging. If they get the marketing (along with Orange) right the numbers of mobile players will increase.

mickeyskint - 23 Feb 2006 15:37 - 901 of 1117

Make of this what you will. From the other place.

cityeye - 23 Feb'06 - 14:06 - 17995 of 18005

I dont post on BB's very much at all but today, after hearing from a trustworthy source of a surge at GMC, i have tucked away 300,000 of these at a price cheaper than what Simon paid a few weeks back.

You shall wonder about the surge so let me tell you;

1, pay per click rev at gambling.com has turned substantially higher after
the introduction of new software and i hear bids and activity of the top
ten listings has become even more fierce with brands constantly out-
bidding each other to maintain top positions.

2, since the start of 2006 mobile gambling sign ups has dramatically
increased after visible marketing by GMC on its portals. Note Orange is
also gearing to promote this produce. Expect further news in this area.

3, poker.casino.co.uk has been an astonishing success after GMC has heavily
advertised this site, for free, on its own portals.

Major investors and the Drummonds will not allow for a takeover so people enjoy the ride as this share is pointing towards the sky and beyond. Trading statement to confirm the above due soon....

moneyplus - 23 Feb 2006 16:52 - 902 of 1117

I tucked away a few more this afternoon so thanks for the encouraging post. I thought we must be due for news and EK's buying shows interest is rising again after a quiet period. my holding is much smaller than above but still sizeable for me!!

mickeyskint - 23 Feb 2006 17:58 - 903 of 1117

This is in response to the flack he took after posting. I topped up with another 28K.

cityeye - 23 Feb'06 - 16:30 - 18008 of 18012

You people dont sound too optimistic but we shall see.

I dont believe GMC is a dead duck share the same could have been said about it when it remained around the 2p marker for over two years and then in a twinkle of an eye went up ten fold. It still remains up over 5 fold. The sp is awaiting confirmation thats all.

Private investors will take this to 14p and institutions will pile in 14p+. Before anyone realises the sp will be closer to 50p.

Simon does not need to post here everyday like some of you to show that he remains long. GMC is now a more longer time investment for him just as it was before he sold out last year.

GMC is a sure winner and i should know.

Anyhow, see you lot in about a month.

mickeyskint - 24 Feb 2006 11:15 - 904 of 1117

Worth a read. It appears the broker has increased the targer price to 25p.

KeithFagan - 23 Feb'06 - 18:06 - 18013 of 18026

Hi Analyst. I agree with you it is important. On line group Golden Palace started a mobile offering last year and expected massive migration from its huge on-line base. It wasted a lot of money in marketing to its existing base and had a less than .5% transfer and most of this was short lived.

GMC have taken note of this and are taking steps to avoid the same mistake. Unfortunately this means building a new player base from scratch and this has to lead to delays.

Orange have largely taken on the marketing from GMC for the mobile gaming business. GMC did no marketing whatsoever for it to be honest as it was all in trial mode and to market it wodely would have been courting disaster given the bugs in the system. There was also no customer service operation in place as Orange expected GMC to offer that and Vice Versa (actually it is GMC's responsibility although Orange have spent a lot of time training a special mobile gaming response team).

Also I did see mention of exclusivity with Orange. Sorry to disappoint but this is the last thing Justin wants. They are in discussion with a number of UK and European Telcos to offer as similar portal. I have offered them exclusivity with the 3 products I am trying to sell them, but they see exclusivity in any form as a way of stifling growth, rather than netting an exclusive slice of the market

mickeyskint - 28 Feb 2006 15:42 - 905 of 1117

Rumor has it that these have been tipped on Watshot web site. I can't confirm as I'm not signed up. At least they moved today in the right direction.
Be patient and you will be rewarded.

doughboy66 - 28 Feb 2006 18:49 - 907 of 1117

I got back into these today Mickey for the 4th time!
I would like to say i`ve made a lot of profit from them but i haven`t ,so maybe this time?

mickeyskint - 01 Mar 2006 12:11 - 908 of 1117

This looks interesting. Could be a bit is on the way from Partygaming. Then again it could be a load of tosh. But a bagger from here in a short time will do me.

BalCee - 1 Mar'06 - 11:44 - 18185 of 18189

Also,Partygamin all but confirmed this moved in their last RNS. This has been a frustrating share to be in over the past few months but the Party bid will probably come in at around 20-23p mark.

mickeyskint - 01 Mar 2006 13:00 - 909 of 1117

Picked this up from the other side. It looks like something is going on....but what?

easy74 - 1 Mar'06 - 12:40 - 18191 of 18192

scotty1 - 1 Mar'06 - 12:50 - 18192 of 18192

Can't do that easy74 copyright and all that. Will say that LH was speaking

with figures posted, and a few exciting prospects just round corner + a
marked re-rating due.Come to think of it with what I've just told you
might as well have posted update ;-)))))))))))))))

Back to square one than, LOL!

Dynamite - 02 Mar 2006 10:20 - 914 of 1117

Well done Mickey for keeping everyone updated. Phew this has to be the most frustrating share ever but I still feel it will be worth the wait in end..lots of patience needed but the price has to rocket eventually IMHO DYOR etc.
Di

mickeyskint - 02 Mar 2006 11:23 - 915 of 1117

I agree Di. I've been tempted to bail out several times but hung on in. Our patience will be rewarded I'm sure. It's also worth remembering even at todays price this share is a 5 bagger in 1 year and did hit 22p making it a 10 bagger.

LOL

MS

Dynamite - 02 Mar 2006 16:50 - 916 of 1117

That's great Mickeyskint but I got in at 14p and 22p is no good unless you sold at that price. I am just glad I didn't get in at 22p ...I just couldn't see it going further so waited for it to go down to get in....now I would like some upside as I have waited quite some time now.
Di

mickeyskint - 03 Mar 2006 10:56 - 917 of 1117

Di

I talked my wife into buying at 19p well you can just imagine what my life's been like for the past few months. I think there is something going on behind the scene and I'm sure that the Drummond Bros won't let this go cheap. Rumour has it that PRTY are having a look, we'll just have to wait and see.

LOL
