Marchpole - Nice New Clothes (MPH)

Socrates - 30 May 2003 18:58

Marchpole is one of those stocks which have had a really bad time. Boardroom battles, losses, price collapse, profit warnings up the ying yang.

Now all of those things seem to be sorted out, new management are getting to grips, new contracts and the price is on the up. So much so that Monday ought to see a 50/200 day MA golden cross.

DYOR of course, but I think I will be putting a few of these away at the open.

Socrates - 12 Feb 2004 17:43 - 9 of 715

Still ticking up. I'll be able to afford a new suit soon. All my indicators still positive, RSI still rising, MACD looks good and momentum still rising.

Socrates - 04 Mar 2004 23:28 - 10 of 715

Marchpole now leaping ahead, gapped up today with a 15% rise, would that all of my shares would do likewise. Evidently the city liked todays trading statement big-time.

Am I right in thinking that a bit more of a rise would represent a breakout from it's current trend lines?

Socrates - 07 May 2004 19:05 - 11 of 715

When I opened this thread MPH price was around 6.7p, it is around 20.5p now and still has potential. I hope some of you took advantage of the opportunity. I'm hanging in there for some more upside, no target in sight but will watch for an exit point.

Best of luck. A few more points north and I'll be able to afford some new threads.

Dunnyspage - 19 May 2004 15:38 - 12 of 715

Seem to be edging up again ahead of their next set of results.

Socrates - 02 Jun 2004 17:40 - 13 of 715

Am I missing something, why has this suddenly gone up 8.5% today?

Not that I'm complaining, but I get edgy when there are sudden unexplained share movements.

amberjane - 02 Jun 2004 22:31 - 14 of 715

No best not complain Socs, just watch that profit.....let me know of your next tip, well done.

Socrates - 22 Jun 2004 17:52 - 15 of 715

This RNS doesn't seem to be very widely spread, some BB's don't seem to have it but it does make interesting reading.

22 June 2004

Marchpole Holdings PLC ("Marchpole")

EXTENSION OF THE ROSSIGNOL AND JEAN-CHARLES DE CASTELBAJAC PARTNERSHIP FOR A
FURTHER 5 YEARS AND TO INCLUDE A SUMMER COLLECTION

Following the acquisition of the Jean-Charles de Castelbajac S.A. ("JCC") in
January 2004, Marchpole is pleased to announce the extension of the agreement
between Rossignol and Jean-Charles de Castelbajac S.A. and the Jean-Charles de
Castelbajac/Rossignol sales results during the 2003 - 04 season.

The new agreement signed between Rossignol and Jean-Charles de Castelbajac S.A.,
extends the partnership for a further five years and now includes both mens and
womens collections for the winter and summer seasons. This extension is the
direct result of the success of the existing collaboration, and through the
addition of a summer collection, increases the potential to develop the market.
The first collection under this new agreement will be seen in 2006. The
agreement gives JCC a minimum annual royalty plus a royalty on sales, a
contribution to marketing the brand and a contribution to fashion shows.

Rossignol, the world leader of ski equipment, recently announced that 4% of
their overall textile sales of Euro 33.5 million was achieved by the
Jean-Charles de Castelbajac winter collection.

The partnership between Rossignol and the designer, Jean-Charles de Castelbajac,
was founded in 2002 and has now seen three successive seasons of growth. The
collection, "vitaminer", which brings together the technical knowledge of
ski-wear from Rossignol and the creative design flair of Jean-Charles de
Castelbajac is today proving to be one of the strongest growth lines in the
textile division of Rossignol. We anticipate that sales of Euro 3 million will
be achieved for the Autumn Winter 2004 season based upon the current order book.
This represents an increase of 124% on the previous season's sales. 24% of this
order is from the USA and Canada account base with the remainder in Europe,
predominantly France with 27% of the order value.

The Rossignol products by Jean-Charles de Castlebajac are currently sold in 250
shops in France and are growing in representation due to increased demand in
Canada and the USA as well as other European countries such as Switzerland,
Italy and Germany.

Good start to the day 11.7% up! Long may it last.

Socrates - 06 Jul 2004 09:48 - 17 of 715

I see MPH is up a tad today. continuing a trend. It fell back a little from yesterdays high at 11.7% but ended comfortably up.

Anyone who bought in when I began this thread is now sitting on a 2.5 bagger and heading for a 3 bagger. More to come I suspect so I am hanging in there.

capa - 08 Jul 2004 14:37 - 18 of 715

General consensus is that there has been a big seller in the wings dumping stock which has shackled the price.

Assuming seller has now run dry this should now have some mileage in it.

I have just bought in.

Socrates - 08 Jul 2004 14:49 - 19 of 715

There certainly have been some moderate sells going on but there have been no RNS so whoever it was did not have a notifiable holding, apparently. There are only 119 million shares in issue so notifiable would have been 3.57 million. I can't recall seeing anywhere near that number being sold, maybe the odd shorter taking a punt. More likely in my mind is profit takers, some will have made a respectable turn on MPH in the last few months.

capa - 08 Jul 2004 14:59 - 20 of 715

Socrates - Agree with you regarding notifiable holding, but there has been
a constant dumping of 100,000 blocks over the last few weeks.
imo these have come from one possibly two sources which have now
stopped.

The share price should soon be where it deserves to be 25p +

Socrates - 08 Jul 2004 15:06 - 21 of 715

capa
Why stop at 25p? After a few more sets of good results I can see 25p being left well behind.

capa - 08 Jul 2004 15:20 - 22 of 715

socrates

I don't lack ambition, but one step at a time. 25p is where the price should have been after the last results, with Morris purchasing all those shares recently and with the AGM approaching another 5p on top should be attainable.

You've twisted my arm 30p come hell or high water.

Reach for the stars!

capa - 08 Jul 2004 15:27 - 24 of 715

I'd prefer to invest in the company that clothes them :-)

capa

capa - 08 Jul 2004 15:33 - 25 of 715

Plenty of buying going on.

I think I may have timed this right !!!

capa

Socrates - 08 Jul 2004 15:34 - 26 of 715

That's worth a LOL in capitals!

capa - 08 Jul 2004 15:49 - 27 of 715

There she goes !!!

Red Hot Penny Shares tip last week, City Confidential tip in their June issue, both Shares and IC positive post results. Its a pity that the company is too small to appear on newspapers radar, but if it ever did !

Perhaps Phil Tufnell should undertake another walk around Britain with a billboard advertising Marchpole, all for the cause of brotherly love :-)

capa - 09 Jul 2004 08:01 - 28 of 715

Tipped in IC today I believe which would explain the early mark up.

50% more on its way imo.
