No idea, re the chart Nar1, but not yet a buy for me, particularly with the summer lull coming up. Am guessing that sub 200p would be ideal for an entry level for an investment. CC seems pretty keen on the stock though, so excited that he's got the shakes! ;o)

TANKER - 03 Apr 2012 10:25 - 905 of 1362

Chris Carson - 03 Apr 2012 10:38 - 909 of 1362

H - Not keen at all mate, to me at the mo anyway looks like a nailed on short :O) Not trading it. Presently long MTO, SGE,ADN and TSCO so got enough to contemplate at the mo or worry as the case may be.

HARRYCAT - 03 Apr 2012 10:38 - 910 of 1362

You're easily persuaded Tanker. Bob Diamond saying something isn't necessarily a reason to buy for me!

TANKER - 03 Apr 2012 10:38 - 911 of 1362

I only buy detached would NEVER buy a semi or terrace

ahoj - 03 Apr 2012 11:10 - 912 of 1362

Tanker, Good decision.

The price of detached house are slightly higher than semi, so you get much more value for the additional price.

People do not realize the value of privacy and independence.

Investec note:
While Barclays shares have underperformed, tumbling 20% since 2 March, Blackrock, (19.7% owned by Barclays), closed at a near 10-month high of US$205 on 30 March – up 15% in the quarter. This alone adds 5p to the Q1 tNAV per share that Barclays will print on 26 April, helping to offset a partial reversal of 2011 FVOOD gains. Factor in a resurgent Q1 performance in Barcap, and Barclays looks a little cheap at 0.5x 2011 tNAV. Despite a weak RoE outlook, (hence our unchanged 240p TP), we upgrade back to Buy.

We forecast Barcap revenues of £11.1bn in 2012E vs consensus of £10.9bn and a 2011 outturn of £10.3bn. However, given Bob’s “promise” of a positive Q1/Q1 result, if Barcap were to achieve close to £3.6bn in Q1 (2011 Q1: £3.4bn), £2.5bn per quarter for the remainder of 2012E would appear eminently attainable, notwithstanding a highly challenging economic outlook, and we should then see modest consensus upgrades. After the grim reality of the 2011 results season where 4 out of 5 UK banks missed market expectations, this would represent something of a rare commodity in the sector! (An extended period of elevated impairments in Spain is already in our numbers and, we believe, in consensus.
