With video search set to be the next big growth area BLNX have the software the likes of Microsoft, Google and NewsCorp would love to have.

In fact BLNX have done deals with most of these, the most recent being the UtargetFox deal which has been reported in the USA but not RNS'd in the UK.

Alexa rankings confirm the continued growth in usage as its viral effect spreads:-

The ITN RNS confirms blnx is the best in the market and is growing fast:-

Leading News Organization ITN Extends Advertising Deal with blinkx Based on Proven Campaign Success

blinkx Selected to Power Advertising across ITN Website and Syndication Partner Sites

SAN FRANCISCO, CALIF. - July 2, 2008 - blinkx, the world's largest and most advanced video search engine, today announced that it has won an extension contract that will augment the scope of its advertising partnership with ITN, one of the world's leading news and multimedia content companies. Under the terms of the new agreement, ITN will use AdHoc, blinkx's patented contextual advertising platform for online TV and video, to serve advertisements on the ITN website and its syndication partner sites, including Bebo.

Through AdHoc, ITN has already been effectively monetizing its premium news content on the blinkx.com network for over six months. During this time, ITN achieved a significantly better return, greater search volume, and higher monetization through blinkx than through other syndication partners.

AdHoc uses blinkx's patented speech-to-text transcription and visual analysis technology to understand video content more thoroughly and effectively than any other service today, and can therefore dynamically place the most pertinent advertising against it. The AdHoc platform offers media companies and advertisers a unique value proposition -- video advertising which combines the emotive power of TV promotion, with the relevance and utility of contextual search advertising.

The confluence of ITN's premium TV content, blinkx's extensive syndication network, and AdHoc's uniquely powerful targeting capabilities was a formula for success. By extending its partnership with blinkx, ITN aims to achieve similar returns by leveraging the AdHoc platform to deliver contextually relevant video advertising on its own website and across its distribution partner sites.

'We're thrilled to be broadening our relationship with ITN,' said Suranga Chandratillake, founder and CEO of blinkx. 'News content is one of the most popular categories of online video and there's clearly a tremendous opportunity for monetization. The success of our partnership with ITN is evidence that the blinkx AdHoc platform is a uniquely powerful solution for online video advertising today.'

'We've been delighted with the results of our partnership with blinkx and are looking forward to implementing the AdHoc technology on our site,' said Nicholas Wheeler, managing director, ITN On. 'blinkx AdHoc has proven that it can achieve significant monetization of our content, effective marketing for advertisers and, most importantly, a useful, non-disruptive experience for our audience.'

As a pioneer in video search technology, blinkx has built a reputation as the most effective way to search new forms of online content such as video. With more than 350 partners and 26 million hours of indexed video and audio content, including favorite TV moments, news clips, short documentaries, music videos, video blogs and more, blinkx uses advanced speech recognition technology to deliver results that are more accurate and reliable than standard metadata-based keyword searches.

Another good tie up here.I reckon that a lot of investors need to take their BLINKERS off and see that we have a real winner here, one way or another

moneyplus - 27 Aug 2008 11:49 - 94 of 6187

This is a very big US co. with revenues/profits of millions a tie up like this will attract much more US interest.

HARRYCAT - 27 Aug 2008 12:10 - 95 of 6187

I agree that it is certainly raising their profile. Is it likely though, to put off the big boys who may have been interested in acquiring BLNX?

moneyplus - 27 Aug 2008 12:57 - 96 of 6187

The faster it grows the more it will cost them! I don't think AU. will be willing to sell as Mike Lynch holds a sizeable stake and he has already stated he didn't realise how fast this would take off. 450 partners in under 2 years is some growth! I know we're waiting for the revenue figures to astound us but this co. was not expected to make a profit for 3 years--not it looks as though profits can't be far away!

chessplayer - 27 Aug 2008 22:05 - 97 of 6187

The above comments reflect well, and buys lead sells today by 3 to 2,but the MMs have seen fit to mark the stock down by1/4 point.I suppose if it had been equal it would have been 1 point down.
signed bitter and twisted

Still Waiting - 27 Aug 2008 23:07 - 98 of 6187

8 weeks till the results, the mm's are playing a dangerous game and may still be facilitating a big buy order.

either way the mv is way too low for a global leader in the search sector, google or yahoo or MSN will gobble this up shortly.

people shorting this must be mad, I'm continuing to buy as funds allow, each to their own.

HARRYCAT - 28 Aug 2008 16:16 - 100 of 6187

What happens if you are a nominee shareholder? (Thus not on the shareholder register). Or is it easy come, easy go?
As I live in Norfolk, might be worth a quick trip down the A11/A14.

kimoldfield - 28 Aug 2008 16:21 - 101 of 6187

You should be able to get a letter from your nominee company HARRYCAT, which will allow you to attend. Give them a ring.

HARRYCAT - 28 Aug 2008 16:43 - 102 of 6187

Have spoken to Blinkx in London & they are going to reply by e-mail asap.
Will post reply here when received.

Toya - 28 Aug 2008 20:16 - 103 of 6187

You can attend anyway - I've been to a few AGMs and it's never been a problem. Would be really interesting to see the faces that blink behind Blinkx.

cynic - 28 Aug 2008 20:38 - 104 of 6187

AGMs will always welcome a bit of crumpet, but that ploy rather rules out harry!

HARRYCAT - 29 Aug 2008 08:36 - 105 of 6187

I am happy to get dressed up for the occasion! :o)

Toya - 29 Aug 2008 08:43 - 106 of 6187

Think I might have to as well - not sure I'd pass for "a bit of crumpet" at my age!

cynic - 29 Aug 2008 08:50 - 107 of 6187

you just need buttering up a bit .... may even cut my fingernails to do it for you!

HARRYCAT - 29 Aug 2008 10:57 - 108 of 6187

It looks like they intend to run a fairly tight ship at the AGM (as correctly stated by Kimoldfield):
"Dear Sir,
I understand that you hold your shares in Blinkx plc through a nominee and wish to attend the forthcoming AGM.

In order to attend, vote and speak at the meeting your nominee can either appoint you as a third party proxy or appoint you as a corporate representative.
If your nominee appoints you as a third party proxy, this request will need to be received at the Computershare offices no later than 9.30am on Sunday 21st September. Your nominee will need to submit this request on your behalf stating the number of shares you are able to vote on.

If your nominee decides to appoint you as a corporate representative you will need to obtain from your nominee a letter of representation signed by them stating the number of shares you are to represent. Please ensure you bring this letter to the meeting with you. I have attached the ICSA guidelines in regards to corporate representatives which included the relevant sections of the Companies Act 2006 and a template for the letter of representation which should be followed.

Please do not hesitate to contact me if I can be of any further assistance"
Kind regards
Rosalynn (Client services Manager)

Toya - 29 Aug 2008 11:11 - 109 of 6187

Thanks for that Harrycat - would never have thought they'd want to go through all that rigmarole.

chocolat - 29 Aug 2008 11:23 - 110 of 6187

Isn't it just a sign of the times though?
When my son recently waved his passport renewal form at me, I quickly assumed a state of torpor.

G'morning Mr C ;)
