Big Al dont be silly i wont be moving until i get my 130.000

Big Al - 27 Jun 2007 08:08 - 955 of 2087

Great start for you today then. ;-))))))

hlyeo98 - 27 Jun 2007 08:41 - 956 of 2087

You are dreaming if you are thinking of getting 130,000 from EME. Frank Brophy is more conniving and cunning.

Big Al - 27 Jun 2007 08:54 - 957 of 2087

Now this isn't an ideal situation. I was in a similar scenario almost exactly a year ago and we singularly failed to squeeze any cement behind the casing. I wish EME the best of luck, but it is slow, laborious and not without great hazard. It'll bump up the costs too.

You certainly cannot start fraccing the formation without a very good cement job. Wonder what caused it to be screwed up in the first place. They certainly didn't tell us this earlier did they? ......... or did I miss something?

Sugarloaf Prospect, ('Sugarloaf') Texas USA
-------------------------------------------

Empyrean provides the following update on testing of the Sugarloaf-1 well as
provided by the operator.

As recently reported by other listed partners participating in this well, the
commencement of the fracture stimulation and testing program of the Cretaceous
carbonate zone requires remedial cementation of the well casing across the zones
of interest prior to testing. This process which involves serial perforation of
the casing and squeezing cement is expected to take several weeks to complete.

The latest indication from the Operator is that fracture stimulation and flow
testing of the first of the three zones of possible gas pay is now expected to
commence during the first half of August.

morning big Al maybe it something to do with that locking nut ;-))

Big Al - 27 Jun 2007 09:01 - 960 of 2087

40p area has to hold cynic or all bets are off IMO. I'd have certainly kept my short open if I'd known this news.

Sugarloaf now high risk and a chance the well is useless if they can't squeeze.

cynic - 27 Jun 2007 09:07 - 961 of 2087

i think you are right, but sp now about 38.5 mid ...... however (indicated) spread is about 4.5 so not nearly enough room to make a (new) short worthwhile.

DJ US GAS:Futures Pare Losses, Stay Below $7 Ahead Of Holiday
By Christine Buurma
Of DOW JONES NEWSWIRES

NEW YORK (Dow Jones)--Natural gas futures settled slightly lower Monday amid
moderate temperatures ahead of the Independence Day holiday, paring losses
somewhat as rising crude oil prices and technical buying buoyed the natural gas
market.

August natural gas on the New York Mercantile Exchange settled floor trading
0.9 cent lower at $6.764 per million British thermal units after reaching a low
of $6.555/MMBtu earlier in the day.

Natural gas futures began to recover Monday afternoon after nearing
$6.55/MMBtu, a level many technical traders regarded as buy signal, said John
Kilduff, a vice president of energy risk management with Man Financial in New
York.

"We bounced off the $6.55 support level," Kilduff said. "We're consolidating
between $6.50 and $6.75, much like we consolidated between $7.50 and $8.00
earlier in the year. There are pronounced technicals that get buyers going."

Rising crude oil prices, supported by a refinery outage in Kansas and an
accusation by the U.S. military that Iranian forces helped plan a January raid
on a government building in Iraq, also helped lift natural gas futures higher,
said one trader. Nymex crude oil for August delivery settled at $71.09 per
barrel Monday, a 10-month high.

"Crude oil made a nice comeback" after slipping below $70 a barrel earlier in
the day, the trader said.

Still, light trading and reduced air conditioning demand ahead of the holiday
kept natural gas futures below $7.00/MMBtu, traders said, with many consumers
and market participants away on vacation.

Continued mild weather and ample natural gas in storage was also placing
downward pressure on natural gas futures. Moderate temperatures are expected to
continue this week and next week in the Northeast and Midwest, meteorologist
Jim Rouiller of Wayne, Pa.-based private forcaster Planalytics Inc. said in a
research note Monday.

"High population centers spanning the northern half of the consuming East
will experience temperatures trending from below-normal warmth today and
Tuesday up to near normal heat during the mid portion of this week, then back
down to cooler and more comfortable conditions to end this abbreviated work
week," Rouiller said.

Substantial builds of natural gas in storage have also kept futures prices
low, with mild weather over the past few weeks sparking little demand for
natural gas to generate electricity for cooling. Current inventory levels and
approaching the near-record levels seen in 2006, according to the U.S. Energy
Information Administration.

Empyrean Energy PLC
('Empyrean' or the 'Company'; Ticker: (EME))

Sugarloaf Prospect, ('Sugarloaf') Texas USA
-------------------------------------------

Empyrean provides the following update on the Sugarloaf Prospect as provided by
the operator.

Sugarloaf-1 Well
----------------

The rig required to undertake remedial cementation and formation testing has
arrived on site. Remedial cementation operations will start immediately and are
expected to take up to three weeks to complete. This will be followed by
fracture stimulation and flow testing of each of the three zones of possible gas
pay, identified from wire-line logs and gas shows in carbonate rocks of
Cretaceous age.

For engineering reasons the deepest zone will be tested first. Should any of the
zones of interest produce hydrocarbons at commercial rates, it is likely they
would be placed on long term production testing to assess reservoir performance.

Sugarkane Gas Field
-------------------

The upper zone of possible gas pay in the Sugarloaf-1 well is believed to
correlate with the producing zone in a new field discovery well, located 6.6
kilometres west of the Sugarloaf-1 well on Block A. The new discovery is known
as the Sugarkane Gas Field. Empyrean has no interest in the discovery well, but
does have an interest in future wells to be drilled in the Sugarkane Gas Field
on Block A via a previously announced 16 well deal with Texas Crude Energy Inc
(operator of the Sugarloaf Joint Venture on Block B). Further details of
the discovery are not yet available but the well is vertical and is believed to
have been producing gas and condensate continuously for more than eight months.

Although the upper zone of possible pay in the Sugarloaf-1 well has not yet been
flow tested, on wire-line log, gas log and regional seismic interpretation
grounds, the upper zone in Sugarloaf-1 appears to be within the Sugarkane Gas
Field.

Study of regional seismic and well information by Texas Crude Energy Inc,
suggests the Sugarkane Gas Field is extensive.

TCEI JV Block A -1 well
-----------------------

The recently spudded TCEI JV Block A-1 well is targeting the same producing zone
as the newly discovered Sugarkane Gas Field. The latest information from Texas
Crude Energy Inc was that the well was drilling ahead.

Proposed Sugarloaf-2 Well
-------------------------

As leasing of acreage is now essentially complete, the Sugarloaf Project
operator has proposed the drilling of a second well, located about 1.6
kilometres from the Sugarloaf-1 well.

The well is an exploration well and is proposed to be drilled vertically to just
above the target and then horizontally for 5,000 feet (1,524 metres) in the
target upper zone of possible gas pay defined in Sugarloaf-1. As already
mentioned, this is the zone which is believed to correlate with the producing
zone in the Sugarkane Gas Field discovery well.

Horizontal drilling has been selected, as successful wells commonly produce at
rates several times that of a vertical well at the same point in the reservoir.

A suitable rig has been identified and subject to Joint Venture approval and
execution of relevant documentation, is expected on location about the end of
August. The Operator estimates Empyrean's share of dry hole costs to be
approximately US$940,000 (total well dry hole cost US$3.6 million) and
completion costs to be approximately US$430,000 (total well completions costs
US$1.65 million).

Empyrean has an 18% working interest in the Sugarloaf-2 well.

The information contained in this announcement was completed and reviewed by the
Technical Director of Empyrean Energy Plc, Mr Frank Brophy BSc (Hons) who has
