Media Corp (Gaming Corpoartion GMC)Attracting Some Big Names. (MDC)

goldfinger - 05 Dec 2003 00:33

Up nearlly 15% today and I beleive there could be more to come.

Evil Knievil has tipped it on EvilCast and has bought in 100,000 worth of stock a notifiable interest. He rates the management very highly and says they are attracting all the big bookmakers to the online casino site including punters the likes of William Hill, Chandler, and Ladbrokes. The company are now running at a profit every month and should break into a yearly profit from the years previous loss very soon. The company also ownes in partnership with a Swiss firm Boss another casino site and by all accounts that is doing well.

Im looking at this one as a momentum play pretty high risk as there are competitors out there but I feel the management will give it the edge.

Please DYOR, and remember you are responsible for your own buying and selling actions.

cheers GF.

This is genuine from Justin and i then sent a reply back to him.

Hi Justin

Thanks for your prompt reply

I am glad you keep tabs on things regarding ADVFN (i also post on iii (interactive investor) both under the presneill31 name.I did post the other day regarding the fact that if it was the 2 million that had just been granted ,then they could not be sold on the market ,probably for 2-3 years at least, and that the 2 million were merely admitted on the 10th May.
I am sure much of what we speculate makes you laugh or grind your teeth in wanting us to get our facts right, but that is just the typical PI who being the last to know is "blind" for much of the time as to what is really going on.
It is true that we do look to director buying as a good sign for the future, but realise that you have mortgages just like us (and the odd Ferrari to look after !!!)

I was slightly stunned as to your reply 11 months after my initial email when the market was very uncertain and is still rather sceptical of the sector, but i am aware of how many emails you get from investors alone wanting to put their view.

I will of course paste your reply on the ADVFN bb and iii board for other investors to learn the "facts".If you wish to email me to pass on any thoughts or errors that we make in the future ,i will be happy to do so.

I will not trouble to ask you anything regarding the company as i know very well that you are unable to say anything, suffice to say i look forward to the results and the forward statement, and congratulate you on the vodaphone contract, also not forgetting gambling.com ,eyeconomy and the casino sites, which by all accounts are doing very well.

I thank you for your time in replying, and wish you well for the results and beyond.

Best wishes

Alan

PS The only question i have to ask is .The institutions that bought in @14 do you have contact with them and have they been concerned over the sp or was it a long term investment from the start with them.

mickeyskint - 17 May 2006 12:43 - 957 of 1117

Nice one presneill. It's a bagger from here at least. A tie up with Vodaphone and Orange with maybe one more in the pipe line. Broker forcast has been increased to 25p. We could see 20p within the next 7 days. If that's the case that will put a smile on the wife's face and with any luck one on mine. This is no longer blue sky the fundamentals and cash flow are there. The results will show this.

Well not long now, results Tuesday .

Good write up from Growth Company Investor.

Recommendations
Gaming Corporation - SPECULATIVE BUY
Companies: GMC
18/05/2006

Despite the perception that the growth rates in the online gaming world have slowed, Gaming Corporation's broker Canaccord Adams still believes that this gaming tiddler will be able to show revenue growth of over 450% in the four years to September 2008.

Gaming Corp operates gambling.com, a 10m acquisition and apparently the world's leading gaming search engine. This website receives money when users search for particular internet sites and 'click through' to them when their search is complete. Advertisers basically pay to receive higher rankings in the search results. It has about 500 websites linking to it and a database of 200,000 members.

Gaming Corp's other interests include casino.com, a gaming portal (income is generate each time a user clicks on an advertising banner), and various mobile gaming interests with Orange and Vodafone. It also operates its own online casino.

Net revenues (gross revenues minus player wins) in the year to September 2005 hit 3.6m, with pre-tax profits tumbling in at 445,000 and earnings per share jumping to 0.19p. For this year, its broker reckons profits will hit 3.19m, jumping to 6.3m for 2007 and 7.5m in 2008. Net revenues are expected to more than double to 8.2m in 2006 and leap to 16.7m by 2008.

On expected diluted EPS of 0.93p for 2006, the group is trading on a forward p/e of 13 for this year. This is not expensive, especially when one considers the rate of growth expected here, but this is a fast changing and volatile sector and Gaming Corp is one of the smallest listed players. Speculative buy.

The Dow is up as i write this so hopefully we have reached the bottom ?
Results tomorrow and i have no doubt that GMC will be blue but by how much?

doughboy66 - 23 May 2006 09:46 - 960 of 1117

Wrong as usual !
Are you still in Mickey or still in a state of shock from the last few days on the markets?

mickeyskint - 23 May 2006 11:27 - 961 of 1117

Still a bit dazed DB. Yes I'm still in and increased my holding. This is a 12 month play + in my view. It is generating cash and in profit and with new deals coming on stream. The company is moving forward albeit not as fast as we would like. Patience certainly is a virtue.

Taken from another board.

Cannacord's take on today's results.

Technology -- Internet Gaming

Interim Results: Stellar Growth, strong cash flows

Event
Gaming Corporation has released its H1/06 interim results. The company reported stellar growth with net revenue (after player wins) up 131.7% Y/Y to 2.9 million, while gross profit was up 214.6% Y/Y to 2.3 million. Management stated that the strong performance is an endorsement of its strategy of focusing on its highly profitable portal and search engine operations as the companys online advertising product contributed all of its 1.3 million H1/06 net profit. Gaming Corporation also reported strong positive operating cash flows of 1.1 million, up from 0.5 million in H2/05 and a healthy 3.9 million cash balance.

Impact
We are maintaining our EBIT estimates for the full year and raising our F06 EPS 14.0% to 1.06p from 0.93p, as we no longer expect the company to begin paying tax in 2006. Gaming Corporation has significantly changed its product mix, focusing strongly on its advertising product and away from its casino offering. As a result we are altering our net revenue, gross profit and our selling and distribution costs expectations to bring them in line with the shift in product mix. We are also increasing our full year cash balance forecast 60% to 5.6 million from 3.5million.

Valuation
We still believe that Gaming Corporation is significantly undervalued and are maintaining our BUY recommendation and 12-month price target of 25p based on our three-stage DCF model, which incorporates a 10.0% long-term CAGR (2008-2015) and a terminal growth rate of 2.5%, discounted using a WACC of 11.1% based on a beta of 1.21.

Nice to see the Directors dipping their toes in the water. I'm also pleased to see I bought cheaper. It's looking good but patience is still required.

JT Master Investor - 18 Jul 2006 15:40 - 973 of 1117

LONDON (Reuters) - Fears of a crackdown on online gambling in the United States knocked another 600 million pounds off UK gaming stocks on Tuesday after the FBI moved to shut down the U.S. operations of BETonSPORTS.
Gambling executives in the $12 billion (6.56 billion pound) industry were also assessing their personal exposure after BETonSPORTS said it had been unable to contact Chief Executive David Carruthers, who was detained on Monday and is being held in Fort Worth, Texas.
A U.S. indictment seen by Reuters laid out criminal charges against a number of individuals including Carruthers, who had spearheaded a campaign to defeat a Republican-written bill to crack down on online gambling, and BETonSPORTS founder Gary Kaplan.
After losing over 300 million pounds on Monday, stocks in the sector fell again after BETonSPORTS asked for its shares to be suspended. Sportingbet was down 12 percent at 1134 GMT (12:34 p.m. British Time), PartyGaming down 7 percent, and 888 Plc and BETandWIN both down 10 percent.
NATWEST THREE
"The language used in the Department of Justice release suggests to us there is the possibility that other Internet sports books could be targeted," said leisure analyst Richard Carter at Numis Securities.
BETonSPORTS said it was urgently trying to clarify the situation and assess the impact of a temporary restraining order on its business in the U.S., its biggest market.
"This comes a week after the extradition of the NatWest Three, and a lot of companies will be looking at their travel plans," said leisure analyst Wayne Brown at Altium Securities, referring to three British bankers extradited to the U.S. last week on fraud charges linked to the defunct energy giant Enron Corp.
"It's not just travel," said one UK gaming executive who declined to be named. "The U.S. has proved it can get to anyone it wants in the UK. A lot of executives are feeling very uncomfortable."
Prime Minister Tony Blair's spokesman declined to comment when asked whether gaming executives could be extradited to the U.S.
The U.S. Department of Justice said on Monday that BETonSPORTS was among 11 individuals and four corporations facing various charges of racketeering, conspiracy and fraud.
The founder of BETonSPORTS.com, Gary Kaplan, 47, was also charged with 20 felony violations, and a warrant has been issued for his arrest, it added.
"BETonSPORTS.COM and other gambling Web sites operated by Gary Kaplan and his co-defendants offered gamblers in the United States illegal wagering on professional and college football and basketball," said a copy of the indictment seen by Reuters.
The indictment lists violations from 2001 to as recently as April, 2006.
It includes violations of the "Wire Wager Act", which gaming companies such as 888 and PartyGaming have always viewed as a reason not to enter the U.S. sports betting market.
The Federal Bureau of Investigation (FBI) has instructed four telephone companies to stop providing services to BETonSPORTS, the company said, citing the U.S. Department of Justice.
The United States has also filed a civil case ordering BETonSPORTS to stop taking sports bets there and to return money held by U.S. customers in their gaming accounts. A hearing in the case could be held within 10 days.

On holiday at moment, my stop-loss chucked me out at 9.75p thank God.
Tempted to buy back in at this price but where will the drop stop???
This company appeared under-valued when I bought in with plenty of upside so this crash was unexpected and until I know why I'll keep the cash.

Pommy - 19 Jul 2006 08:22 - 975 of 1117

GMC shouldnt be affected as they have steered clear of the US market from what i understand!
