I'm on a water meter, Dazzler ........ didn't even realise it until the first bill came in as the meter is under an inspection cover in the drive.
With 2 kids bathing and showering, plus sprinklering the garden for an hour or two each night in the summer we pay around 280 pa. Much, much less than we'd pay otherwise.

Looks like I should get a water meter, my bill is 185, and that's just for the two of us. (And no sprinkler to boot!)

Been on a meter for years, saved a lot of money. Just the mention of a meter seems to panic most folks. Really is much cheaper unless you have a house full of children and are in the habit of wasting water.
edit: my bill last year 140

Opto,a friend of mine is on a meter,,lives on he own .He`s a bit tight when it comes to bills,,fine with holidays. He even has a notice in the toilet,,that says dont flush,,funny thing is ,, you should see the collection of toilet cleaners,,must spend a fortune,,but i always flush and wash my hands after,,than he gives me hassle if i run the water away in the sink,and you can guess {single}
He only pays 70 a year mind

Morning all, lovely day here in Hastings bright and sunny but cold.
Had a crap journey home last night stuck in Schipol in a blizzard for several hours. All adds to the fun.
Any pancakes left?

Do you think that they will ban cleaning cars? She who thinks she should be obeyed regards car cleaning as a man's job and expects me to clean hers as well as mine. Mind you on a lot of other matters she complains of sex discrimination and how badly wonen are treated!

Afternoon all. Hi Spacey and TIM.
TIM, your wife is quite right - men have to have the occasional use!
Pancakes Spacey? For you of course, shall just pop them in the pan and
reheat. Sorry to hear nothings changed on the fun activity of flying :-(
My water bill came in today; Scottish water charge me 278 - and there is no shortage here! Definitely could do with one of those meters!

Good evening all. I'll just be a moment, got to pop out to the River Servern for a bucket of water.
Nice day, supposed to be snowing but so far, pushing luck, no sign of it. Any tea in the pot, I have a real thirst.
